It has officially been two years since this game first launched, and with 108 characters now in the game, I decided to take this moment to catalog the roster as it is at this moment just to see how far we've come, with some reference material on where some of their poses come from.

Sadly, that's the best part of this game. Even for a gacha game, it's pretty shitty gameplay wise. At least the artwork/models look really good. You can tell the artists were true fans of the series.

Then again that's all it is... nostalgia trip with no susbtance whatsoever. Sometimes i wish Capcom had an entire team dedicated to making good Megaman games. Would certainly beat all this gacha crap.

Wily would never bother giving Zero "love enjoying" body parts for that to ever happen. He might enjoy being friends with X and Iris but there's no way he would "enjoy" Layer's body.

@@aibadenshi Lol good luck finding a reploid "love part" that can attach to Zero's "saber area". Also considering how unique Zero's body is Wily is the only person in the Megamam world with the abbility to modify Zero's design.
Despite X Dive being a pretty lame gacha game, I have to give my respect to their artists, animators and modelers. These look fantastic, and are better than whatever Capcom delivered for the series in the last 15+ years (I like MM11, but those 3D models looked pretty bad). So many references and new costumes that expand on these characters' established visuals, such as the seasonal outfits. The animations are beautiful, with tons of references to the many games in the series, and they managed to replicate each series' distinct artstyle greatly.
Sometimes I find myself downloading this again just to play with the models a bit. I eventually uninstall it after a tasting a bit of the gameplay, tho. Still, I'm glad this game exists.
Arent gacha inherently lame though? How exactly does it stack up to other gacha though.? Idk
@@yogsothoth915 Not anymore, imo. There are good examples like Fate Grand Order, Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact and Punishing Gray Raven that manage to deliver good gameplay + narrative and with nice production values to boot.
That's why this game feels lame compared even to contemporary gacha games.

idk about the others except genshin and Fate GO. Fate GO has often has some good writing, (though it does vary from arc to arc). Though its gameplay is kinda.... meh..
(And for the money Fate GO rakes in ,the production value funding writing and other bits can afford to keep cycling. )
but this one? I doubt it had much in the way of financial resources.
firstly, it suffers from lack of Waifus or women in general... Megaman has an intense fan base and Capcom recently began to see that they can market it, but that audience wasn't really a target market for a gacha. There will be overlap but it's not as much as say with fans of Fate.
So unlike Fate or genshin I doubt Capcom or whoever was commissioned is actually throwing much money at this at all, and I doubt Capcom would even pump the profits back into it.
That's my theory at least.

Magma Dragoon it's the only minor boss so relevant to appear in this game, personally i wish more Mavericks got into, and Robot Masters like Fireman, Airman, Geminiman, Pharaohman, Tenguman.
I really wouldn't call Magma Dragoon a minor boss. Not only is he one of the 8 Mavericks in MMX4, but he is the ONLY Maverick to have a dialogue to the heroes after he is defeated. Plus, he is one of the person who is responsible for setting things in motion in MMX4's story.

I barely made it through the tutorial before I quit this game, but if they were to add Fire Man, I'd probably give it another shot just for him.
From Megaman 4 I would add Skullman, he's the only one that Cossack created to fight.
I thought he showed up because he was a confirmed ex maverick hunter in x4 so i thought that storm eagle and chill penguin could show up since they were confirmed hunters in day of sigma ova

Double from X4, Duo from MM8, High-Max from X6, Spider from MMX:CM, and maybe the Cybeast forms of Megaman.exe would all be welcome additions in my opinion.
I think Double definitely has a high chance of showing up eventually. So is High-Max as another example.

I love the X series. Seeing Iris again was really a nice touch since her death in X4 affected Zero greatly. Man I wished they had revived her.

Both are mechanical servants, built on mass, to help an villains that's not so villain.
They both have round/cilindrical yellow body/head and are playfull.

Thanks to the game, Rockman X Dive... All characters of our generations of Megaman Original, X, Zero, ZX, Legends, Battle Network, Starforce and including in this game, was too best for the previous and next generation

Y'know the thing that surprises me the most is the fact that they have skin and even physics to show off. I always just assumed only the face was made to look like a human color-wise but the swimsuits and seasonal outfits like Leviathan's proved me wrong apparently. Heck Layer and Palette even have line segments. Makes me wonder if that's how most humanoid Reploids are created or if that kinda production happened later on. And just how relationships whether romantically or otherwise worked when one or more members are a Reploid
I would assume these are fan service aka Waifu bait because it tends to be on female reploids and seasonal variants as well, they also didn't do that in any official game so.....
@@StriderVM Oh I don't doubt it being fan-service at all LMAO. I just find it interesting that they still had those physics/'skin' to show off. The physics I'm convinced is fanservice especially with the animations of seasonal Alia and Layer's default, but the skin bit can actually even be noticed with Cinnamon from Command Mission; she's wearing black leggings of sorts but her thighs, which has the same color as her face, are partially exposed. So it still has me wondering regarding how Reploids are actually produced considering they even have DNA of sorts.

I think the skin showing was an attempt for the reploids to appear more human to the humans. Giving them a more human like image distinguishes themselves from mechanaloids so people are most likely more inclined to treat them as actual people instead of robots with brains
I haven't been playing for a while (Arknights and FEH has already been enough, and gaming on other consoles) but I've kept up with news on the game. Pretty impressive, the current roster.

I love the megaman franchise , one part of the series that’s severely underrated is the battle network part of it
This is the perfect game to put Zero Mythos version, also hoping for Phantom, Fefnir, Vent, Ashe and Grey too.
Is basically they going adding every single megaman characters yet they didn't expand the core gameplay as far I'm aware

Awesome video dude, there are a lot of characters I didn't knew were added. Street Fighter was really a surprise.
I'm more shocked at the fact they had realistic human bodies and what they normally wear was just there armor, well more for the girls then the guys but just imagine the guys with out there armor and they look even cooler.
well its odd, the reason their legs under the knee look the way they do is because of gyros aka its how they keep balanced in bipedal walking, just figuring they made a small more than likely weaker aka not good for noncivilian rolls model, thats also unarmored. IIRC X's data outline showed 3 gyros 2 in the legs, and one in the chest

I like how 3rd armor X has Ryu's Tatsumaki Senpukyaku. Now he has all of Ryu's techniques.
Amaterasu would take some work, not being able to use any of the humanoid animations, but it'd still be cool if they got in. Be able to re-use their animations to make Rush and Treble/Gospel playable too.

I can't be the only one that thinks he looks amazing and has some dope moves.
Honestly, I think a lot of Battle Network characters could work in the game pretty well.
As much, love and work they put into these models and animations, they really neglected to animate the faces. Because the pupils of the eyes are not animated, the models have a very lifeless feel to them, despite the animation of the model itself.

- X Series: Shadow Armor X, Sound Holic Armor X, White Axl, Vile V, Spider, Nana.
- Zero Series: Phantom, Fefnir.
- ZX Series: Vent, Ashe, Prometheus.
- Battle Network: Dark ProtoMan.EXE, GutsMan.EXE
- Legends: Tiesel Bonne, Sera, Yuna.
- Star Force: None (never got to play it so)

Wish they did kept doing more sequels on the Battle Network timeline as there are still lots of classic Megaman storylines and characters they could have made Battle Network counterparts of. Imagine how cool it would have been if Geo fought "Sigma.exe". Lot of story potential still for Capcom not to make more Starforce games.

As someone who fell off at x3 in so confused and intrigued by all these new upgrades and characters.
what I like about this is that most of the models were already there and all they had to do is gather everything throw it in a bowl adding some reimagining old stages from previous games and characters and there you go
so this proves they could make another 2.5D or even 3d maverick hunter x style game if they wanted to

Megaman Zero..? >it's being acknowledged. Even in a Gacha, it touches my heart a little tiny bit.
For such a huge selection, at this point we might aswell hope for the ultimate Megaman roster. So let's make it happen:
If they still don't have it, add all the armors from the series, X1 to X8, for X, Zero and Axl;
They have Bit, mid-boss from X3, so they could just add:
- Byte, Bit's partner (MMX3);
- Mid-bosses X-Hunters from MMX2 Agile, Violen and Serges;
- Mid-bosses/hunters from Xtreme series, Zain and Geemel (Xtr 1), and villains Berkana and Gareth from Xtr 2;
- High-Max from MMX6;
- Spider, the only playable character from Command Mission still to be added to DiVE;
Since they have Sigma, Vile and Gate, the villains, why not have:
- Red, MMX7 antagonist;
- Lumine, MMX8 antagonist;
- Dr. Doppler, MMX3 antagonist;
- General, from MMX4;
They even have Nana, the navigator from Command Mission, so we might also have:
- Double, Iris counterpart for X in MMX4;
- Middy and Techno, navigator-like figures from Xtreme games;
The operator trio from X8 is in, so why not add the rest of the Maverick Hunters staff from Playstation era:
- Signas;
- Douglas;
- some iteration of the Lifesaver;
DiVE have very few characters from classic series, so:
- Duo from MM8 (playable in Power Fighters);
- Auto and his freaking bazooka, as seen in MM8;
- King, antagonist from Megaman and Bass;
- Quint, 'future' Megaman from the Gameboy game;
- the Megaman killers from Gameboy games, Enker (who is also playable in Megaman Soccer by the way), Punk and Ballade;
Heck, they even have Bass & Treble as a separate character, so why not add the pets:
- Rush, Beat, Treble, Tango, Reggae, Eddie... Maybe as a different character category, even. Go for it;
Not enough? F*CK IT:
- Hyper Megaman and Hyper Roll, their forms using the special attack in Marvel VS Capcom series;
- Sniper Joe, Megaman-like character, staple in the series;
So they have X - Kai? What about obscure references?
- Mac, the traitor from the MMX3 intro stage;
- Megaman Xover;
- a version of Megaman with Double Mega Buster, a reference to that interactive game Super Adventure Rockman - the only time where Mega uses both his arm cannons at the same time;
- Fan, main character from that weird-ass chinese licensed game Rockman Strategy, the one with Zodiac-inspired enemies mentioned in Megaman & Bass database;
- A helmetless skin for Megaman;
- A Met helmet skin for Megaman, reference to MM7 intro;
Crossover characters, huh? What about:
- Resident Evil-inspired character or armor;
- Devil May Cry-inspired character or armor;
- Breath of Fire-inspired character or armor;
- Onimusha-samurai Zero;
Now it is too much? I DON'T CARE, LET'S GO FOR THE WTF FACTOR:
- Bad Box Art Megaman, who was already established as a character by Capcom anyways;
- Western Megaman, just like in the cancelled Megaman Universe, where the original 'Rockman', with its japanese design, and the westernized 'Megaman' are two different characters;
- Green Biker Dude. Seriously;
- Wily using his humanoid machine from Megaman Soccer, to add an easter-egg from that game;
- Rockman Shadow, the antagonist from that completely obscure Rockman & Forte game for the Wonderswan;
- some glitched version of Megaman, to reference the sh*tfest of the DOS games;
- some way to put a reference to Megaman battle & Chase, the racing game;
And last but not least, a hidden boss for the game:
Mighty No.9.
Did I miss anything?
I especially liked the Copy Reploid taking the form of X so Sigma could flex his lightsaber.

I mean it is not required to get characters and you do not necessarily need to get a specific character for any stage (aside from PVP but have not encountered the new characters there lately unlike before), honestly I think there are too many characters and I don't have time to play them all)

Some of these animations or poses have in-game references that are overlooked.
It’s really cool to see all the mega. Man x and command mission love. That’s my personal favorite era of mega man. X1-3 are classics. And as an rpg gamer I loved command mission.

I'm kinda sad Vent from ZX isn't released yet just because he isn't a waifu 😔. While Aile's lore looks more canonical than Vent's I bet Vent was the most picked character (on western side of the world at least). All of that being said I hope ZX advent characters come soon enough
