So even though I pointed to it at the end of the video, Toei took down part 1 of my DBZ dubs video yesterday and it was too late for me to change the video. I plan on reuploading it next week combined with the 2nd part with slight editing to hopefully get by the claim. For now you can view it via my Archive upload! archive.org/details/DBZdubs
Thanks for the shout out! It's actually funny that you found it for your dragon ball preservation, as I actually helped preserve the Harmony Gold dub lmao
I often try to keep up with the show’s obscure dubs, but that second one is truly one that I’ve never heard of before. So congrats for that discovery. Between this and the unveiling of the remaining Big Green dubs and the Harmony Gold one, rare DB dubs are clearly in a better state than before
I am a FIlipino and I remember when Roshi was "Master Buten", Nimbus was Kinton, Stretch Stick, Frankie, Krillin was the term, i almost thought it never existed, then i saw your vid. i also see some clips uploaded here on youtube.
who would have thought that me trying to find a music cd would lead to finding lost movie dubs great video! i really enjoyed it and it was happy to help out with finding this stuff! and also thanks for the songs of a high spirited saga cd!
I had some of these old dragon ball dubs. Specifically the movies. I found them as a kid af a flea market. I was so excited and confused at the same time lol
I had that Realplayer file years ago back in high school, for 20 some odd years I thought I would never hear or find the "Kamehameha WAAAAAVE" dub. This is amazing! My mind is no longer broken!
I've heard the English Filipino OP but never seen anything of the actual dub, amazing work! I remember owning the DB Harmony Gold dub set after begging my mom to get it for $20 but I quickly threw it away because it wasn't the JP or Funi Eng dub so I saw no reason to keep them, ahhhhhhhh kid me lol.
Man, I had seen those in the archive site but I had no idea who had done it. My respects, especially for all the patience with the hunting of the tapes and the remaster, it's simply amazing.
as a filipino dragonball fan, it's really interesting for me to go through the history of its run in the philippines, both in tagalog and in english. i just wanna say thank you for your efforts, guys. this is the kind of shit that really makes me proud to be a part of this community.
Dragon ball The Greatest Rival was been the company of Solar Entertainment Home Video in the Philippines. But we didn't know they released Dragon Ball from Regal Entertainment Home Video. Now Dragon Ball OVA movies were digital and restored by Toei
11:56 I wasn't aware you went and remastered the Greatest Rivals! I tried doing something similar but with the French 4:3 DVD Footage from both movies for the Greatest Rivals Promo they had. The credits I tried making were nowhere near as impressive and authentic as yours! haha
The Greatest Rivals was aired in the Philippines on a Sunday night, back when foreign movies are aired during Sunday nights and its big deal to 90's kids back then
This is awesome! I collect anime VHS for US releases and there isnt much in the way of lost media aside from obscure TV broadcasts etc. Love seeing actual releases such as this being found decades later and enjoyed!
There is actually a lot of stuff that came out in the US in danger of becoming lost! Particularly stuff that came out in the early 80s, I may make a video about such titles in the future!
First I find the entirety of the Ocean dub (as in the Saban stuff plus the Westwood stuff) and now this. Also, Funi's early episodes where they were doing bad imitations of the Vancouver cast.
4:10 they're not rare at all btw. especially late PAL machines could pretty much all play ntsc tapes. and a power converter for said vcr would be the smallest problem to come buy...probably even locally :)
0:04 I'd recognize that Hercules trailer any day. Sits comfortably between an ad for ABC Saturday Mornings and a live-action 101 Dalmatians on the VHS of Toy Story.
Interesting sidenote, at least to me, when I first made my custom Yu-Gi-Oh! deck, the 12 Devas, and made my first video for UA-cam showcasing it 12 years ago now (man, I'm old...), most, if not all, the images I used for the art I uploaded onto Card Maker for the proxies was from the Philippines dub of Digimon Tamers that I found and scoured through here on UA-cam! I have no idea if any of the episodes are still up, though, it'd be interesting to revisit, mind!
what I find interesting is the regal vhs you have there has two copyright warnings on the back one for the Philippines and one for the US and it also has a other regal name on the back called regal capital which is a studio in California that released Philippine movies so this tape was also available in the united states
Great video! I really enjoy hearing your opinion and experience with the series. Is there somewhere that I can find Part 1 of your English Dub DBZ video? I can only find part 2 on your channel. Thank you!!
harmony gold was mine never had a tape but I remember quite a bit fondly think it changed my life in a big way when it came back in 95 it was a miracle
As a filipino i never knew that this was a thing i grew up in dbz in the 2000s not the 90s so this was a shocked that this vhs was a thing thanks man love the vid
Shit is crazy, won’t be surprised if there’s more dubs out there, maybe not even in English that aren’t known about. From what I know there’s a Korean English educational dub or something
Wait are you one of the ones that put in work on a certain collection going around that has all the dubs edited to episodes? I only ask because I just got reintroduced to the DBU after 20 years and I'm learning about all the different dubs
I looked at the archive but I don't see your edited versions on there. Do you know where else I can see them. Maybe you can upload them to Google drive. I would love to see your work. It would be a shame for it to not be seen. Edit: Never mind I think I found it there.
Hi what software would you recommend using For editing and syncing audio? I'd love to do the Christmas episode of 4kids Magical Doremi using ojamajo Doremi video
There was also an English Dub of DB and DBZ from PH which came out around 1993, the RPN 9 Dragon Ball.. Not much remains of it, thats another lost media
Question about the English dubs: So there are 2 versions of dbz that the voices and script are the same, only differences are the Bruce Falconer score on one of them and the other has a different one. I also found that toonami on cartoon network aired the ocean dub during the boo saga? But I thought the ocean only did their dub up to some point in the saiyan saga?
Later DVD releases put the Japanese music over the Funimation dub, those Toonami Boo saga recordings are from Toonami UK, Toonami in the US only aired the Funimation produced Ocean dub that goes up to Goku confronting the Ginyu Force
If anybody knows where I can find those real media file episodes of Dragon Ball z that are rips of the anime Labs tapes, please hit me up. I've been looking for those for many years. I used to have almost every episode of Dragon Ball z in that real media format back in the day and overtime I just lost track of them and it's hard to find the tapes now
@@FumeiComTV Oh. Ok. By the way, can you imagine if the Solar Dub of Movies 10-11 got remastered using Amazon footage? It would turn out to be a success (just like the other Filipino dubs of OG DB Movies 2-3 and DBZ Movies 5-6)
Track 1 - CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA (Movie Theme) Track 2 - Get That Dragon Ball Track 3 - A World Filled With Love Track 4 - You Are the Hero Track 5 - Special ZENKAI Power Track 6 - CHA-LA-HEAD-CHA-LA Track 7 - Go For No.1 Track 8 - Love Light Track 9 - You Are the Hero (Movie Theme) Tracks 10 - 18 are the Minus One karaoke versions in the same order.
that does not prove anything, you could just be showing random click from the real show and not the 2 lost dub, and then make up story about founding 2 lost dub. I'm well aware that the copy right law prevent from showing the audio of the show, but at the cost that most people will not believe you. If your telling the truth, that is fine and good for you, but if your lying and trying to pass it ass the truth, that shame on you and you gain nothing. And even if you tell the truth I don't believe you because they where a lot of other youtuber that I thought where telling the truth and first, but they all turn out to be lies, so that is why I'm like this.

Personally, I don't see preservation like you have done as piracy.
If you can't find a film or show in legal ways then it isn't piracy.
It's not piracy if it isn't officially available
@@samuel-wankenobiNintendo would definitely disagree with that

Why you don't have at least 100k subs is beyond me. You definitely deserve it, and so much more.
What a journey!! Thank you for your efforts!
Your a hero to all Dragon Ball fans.
Thank you for preserving history.
you actually remastered the actual VHS clip itself? wow thanks, by the way, there's also DBZ movie with Broly, also an back to back covering 2 movies
thank you for your dedication to preserving history!
Today, i just found my old vhs tapes of dbz. Now im here going down a rabbit hole of old anime media.

Gosh, man. The Amazon Japan footage looks so good.
Oh hey, you're the one who published that remaster of this film. I want to thank you as it is the bases for a fandub I been working on
I am shocked by the view count and subscriber count, this is some quality content and very comprehensive

Nice use of the Project A-ko soundtrack here!
11:26 oh lord that reminds me of the Ocean/Westwood days well before the Dragon Box remaster project...
Meanwhile in Australia, basically every VCR had a toggle for PAL, SECAM and NTSC.
Same with the uk

Groovy outcome.
Why did this take so long to show up in my recommended?
you deserve way more views and subs
It's a huge shame you got less than 30,000 views despite the effort and quality of this video
