I know there's so much comments like this but you're a legend. You inspire me every time I go try some tricks on the bar because of your body type, which is really similiar to mine. You remind me and many other people that you don't have to look like a greek god to be strong and athletic like you are. Stay strong former average guy.
Hi, congrats on learning the dynamic Muscle-up.Now I know that you have been strugling to do a front lever and the following advice might help you.To start with, i believe that you should check your core strenght since we have never really see you train it and it plays a big role while learning the front lever. You can ''check'' if your core is strong enought by doing Dragon Flags. This is a great exercise for your core and if you cannot hold the bottom part of the movement for around 6 seconds then your core is probable the problem.Lastly, to give you some motivation i am strugling on learning it too :)
In gymnastics we call this a bar kip. You would never hear it called a muscle up since kids that can't do a pull up can do a bar kip if their technique is good enough.
@@GeekClimber It is by far the easiest way to get to the top. Most of the time you learn impressively fast, but every now and then you, by dumb luck, miss something. Just like with the planche haha.
Great video. Nice technique on yr muscle ups. I think the dynamic muscle up is also called a glide kip. Good explanation of the strength differences required for each and the technique required for the glide kip. Now if only crossfitters would stop calling kipping moves ‘muscle ups’ much confusion would be avoided.
Some advice for fellow commenters: try to do it when u jump on the bar from a bit far (like 1-1,5m) That's how i learned it too. I just wanted to do a normal muscle up but i jumped from far away from the bar and i had too much momentum couldnt pull and accidentally did the dynamic muscle up
Oww, there're a lot more types of muscleups like the wide arm muscleup, inverted grip muscleup, shotgun muscleup, front lever muscleup, highpullup with impossible dip to top out the muscleup, one arm muscleup, , straightarn (butterfly), inverted muscleup (elevator), inverted straight arm (inverted muscleup), etc.
Because of my age (44) and only started calisthenics for about 15months, i never tried any freestyle moves due to fear of shoulder injury, but seing you some of the basic skill in freestyle , I think i will try some, maybe limit myself to sumple tricks and not those 360’s 😂
Great video, this move actually doesn't need any strength. I wouldn't be suprised you don't really need to be good at pull ups to do it. Where i live its called the olimpic muscle up. I first learned it when i was 15, very easy trick. Just need to understand the kicking of the legs at the right moment, you should wait a bit at the end of your swing that can help with getting hight in this move.
3 options - awesome! Truthfully dynamic seems most doable but we’ll see. 12 days for resilience and persistence. I may make 12 minutes. 😆 I will give it a serious try though. 🙏
Hey Geek. I know why so many calisthenics dudes say, that an Front leaver is easy to learn. And than there are guys like us, whitch have hugh Problems. Its because of the genetics. I guess you are a tall Person. That means that your legs are much longer. If you are a smaller Person with and large upperbody with small legs than the FL is much easier for you. Because the main emphasis is different. For the smaller Person is a full FL so hard, if an advanced tuck FL for us taller Persons. So all we have to do is. Never give up only FL Up :D Have a nice day
Injury from a dynamic muscle up? Honestly, I have never seen that happen. As long as you warm up properly, and don´t let your hands slip from the bar, or don´t kick the bar with your shins, you are completely safe. The main risk of injury is the same as any other muscle up, which is the chicken-wing technique. That stuff will destroy your elbows and shoulders if done repeatedly, but other than that, there is no real risk, unless you are extremely clumsy.
Awesome done man! :D Lets keep going!
Omg!! Flelfil's in the comment section ⚡
Thanks again for your help, Daniel!

Wow, hard to imagine this move is even possible for people who can’t even do a pull up. That’s crazy to know.
