congrats hes a nice one!! i have been a compound hunter since 1991 and i have taken 25 deer all sizes!! i keep watching recurve and longbow videos and im thinking pretty seriously about giving traditional archery a try. Maybe not for deer hunting but for target shooting and grouse hunting this fall would be a blast!! i shoot a 55lb compound bow so i was thinking i might start at 35lbs!!

This bow is a Black Widow PSAX 52@28 62”. Arrows were Black Eagle Vintage arrows with a 100gr brass insert, with 175gr Simmons Swamp Sharp broadheads

Deer didn’t drop but a couple of inches. Shot hit high. But it all worked out. Trad hunting is harder IMO . Been there done that. 👍👍

More than a couple inches. Fix your eye on the leaf above the line of the back before the arrow was released. Notice how far down the line of the back is below that leaf when the arrow arrives. Near 8" of difference. The doe was tipping him off and he ducked deep to leave the scene. Glad the broadhead did its job so well.
