Thank you for making this video, it was the only video I needed to install this on my 17’ RT. Looks sick!! And I get how it can be hard to keep clean but the clear piece looks more aggressive from the outside rather than the inside in my opinion.
I got mine installed tonight!One of my riv nuts was just a tiny bit loose(the first hole I drilled out) but the Allen bolt tightened up just as all the others. Really happy with this product it looks amazing. One thing about drilling out the pilot holes to the final size that I wasn’t entirely ready for and I do have quite a bit of experience in drilling stuff. Once the bit goes into the hole it was catching and then instead of cutting it was pulling the drill into the spoiler as it spun. I was going slow and careful and it still pulled the drill in to where it was starting to hit the spoiler on the opposite side from the inside if I wasn’t being slow and careful it might of been catastrophic. I found that once the bit breaks through you have to stop and kind of pull back on the drill as you drill to get it to cut rather than it pull itself inside. The hardest part of this install is taping and measuring everything and making sure the spoiler is gapped on the pencils just right and getting the outer corners bent in and taped down. I measured the two inner riv but holes from outer edge of hole it was right about 10” marked the center at 5 lined it up the best I could. Measured with seamstress tape from the inside angle of the top of the wicker bill right above those slots to the outer tip of the srt spoiler to make sure it was dead nuts center.
the first rivnut i put in went perfectly fine felt amazing about it when i took the tool off i accidentally dropped it and put it back together as i saw it on the video then i began to do the other ones none of them wanted to tights the rivnut and the star washer were all turning together when trying to tighten. what do you think is the problem?
I installed mine myself and was pretty easy. I had a hard time finding a 25/64 drill bit and had to put my math skills to work and found out the 3/8 drill will work.
Great video and thanks for sharing. I received mine and already installed it. Can I remove the smaller middle piece and leave the one that mounts to the factory spoiler?
How did you center the bill? Im going to use a pieces of 3m double sided tape along with the screws once I make the holes to ensure good holding strength. Just my preferation when i recieve the bill.
