Paul is able to compose rock music, pop music, bossa nova, jazz, classical music and oratorios, folk, country folk, soul, traditional, funk, britpop, hard rock, cold wave, rockabilly, children's contines, 40's american styles, progressive, latin sounds, electro, dance , and so... and he does all well... Plus his talents as a musical director and producer, plus lyrics he writes. Who is able to say how many musical instruments he masters perfectly ? There are so many, beyond the bass guitar, guitar, drums and keyboards ! .... All this with a nice personality.... Paul McCartney is an authentic genius !
PJ BDX They were so successful with the Beatles they could indulge themselves in any medium they desired afterwards. Jack of all trades but not masters of all.
I guess of all the composers and musicians, I've admired Paul even more than the classical people I've studied, more than Richard Carpenter, more than anyone in the last 70 years...Perhaps because he's just a regular guy with a great gift.
idk if i'd call it all a "gift". the man has put in alot of time and hard worked to develope his skills and talents as well as learn new ones, so can you simply think of it all as a "gift"?
Rui Barroso the reason why the album version has no vocals is because Paul is remastering everything in chronological order. During the RAM sessions, he came up with the instrumental of this song (hence why it was remastered with RAM in 2012). He didn't come up with any vocals till around 1978 (around the time of the London Town sessions). So I guarantee you, when he remasters London Town. This version will be remastered as well! 😊
Back to where the memory lingers Back to where the sun shines Wavers are breaking over my fingers Yes, it's been a long time Sunshine, sometime Sometime, sunshine Home is where the water is waiting For the band that plays in the sunshine Oh yeah, ooh Yes, it's been a long time Sunshine, sometime Sometimes, sunshine Back to where the living is easy I can heed a song in the evening The stars are shining into the water Yes, it's been a long time Sunshine, sometime Sometime, sunshine Sunshine, Sometime Sometime, sunshine Sunshine, sometime Sometime, sunshine
The Ram box set only contains the instrumental version. You are gonna have to wait till the London Town box set comes out for the lyric version that you hear here!
One of best..composer,singer,bass player and other instruments as well....a major talent and also a caring giver to worthy causes like helping our polluted hurting planet be healed and protected....thank you for this
Beautiful song. This is part of the soundtrack of "Rupert and the Frog Song", a 1984 animated short film based on the comic strip character Rupert Bear, written and produced by Paul. You can find the complete soundtrack on Google as a bootleg I guess
Notice in the last few bars that McCartney uses the same chord progression from The Beatles' version of "Til There Was You" at the end of the guitar solo.
Because the instrumental version was from the RAM sessions, and in 2012 when the album was remastered, so was this song. Don't worry, I guarantee you when they remaster London Town, this version will be on there!
@@mrs.featherbottom5901 no it wasn't. But it vocals were added to the instrumental version of the song during the London Town sessions or at least the same year. Knowing Paul, when he remasters an album he will have a bonus disc of songs he recorded during those sessions. So I guarantee you the version with the added vocals will be remastered and be put on the bonus disc of London Town.
@@mrs.featherbottom5901 yes I totally agree! I am looking forward to the remastered version of this song. Another unreleased song that is getting a remaster version from the London Town sessions is the song Waterspout. Looking forward to a clean remaster of that as well!
Here is Paul, playing Lo-Fi 50 years before it becomes a trend.

You didn't mention hip hop. But he kinda does when he worked with kanye for all day, only one etc...
@@Lou-wd7bj : You're right.
Paul and Linda’s harmonies were perfect.
Ringo is the vocalist

I've never heard it with that amazingly funky bass break!
What a bass line !! O_O

An absolute masterpiece. The voice got it all. Can't understand why the album version has no vocals
Spot on mate. Both versions should be on the album.
Greets from Algeria
Come to Besiktas

Simple sensational. I have no more words for this man’s immense talent.
Fantastic words, even more fantastic Melody, amazing instrumentation, sung perfectly. You can’t ask for more.
I've never heard of this beautiful song until now. Now I really need the Ram box set.
The Ram box set only contains the instrumental version. You are gonna have to wait till the London Town box set comes out for the lyric version that you hear here!
Thanks for this! So nice to hear some more from my favorite era of solo McCartney *and* we even get Linda backing vocals. Nice.

Just lovely.
What a beautiful song. It's a shame Rupert was never expanded beyond the "Frog Chorus" song.

What an awesome bassline.
this is wonderful 💙

The Rupert soundtrack was Paul's SMiLE.
Another new one for me! This is great

Why cant Paul put this version on spotify. And also Kicked Around No More
It’ll be on London Town’s reissue if it ever happens
Is this the best version of this track? Why is the amazing Bassline not on the instrumental version on Spotify ?
Because the instrumental version was from the RAM sessions, and in 2012 when the album was remastered, so was this song. Don't worry, I guarantee you when they remaster London Town, this version will be on there!

“Back to where the living is easy” Porgy and Bess reference?
Bass Master
I’m sure Mac Demarco got his inspiration for 5 Easy Hot Dogs and One Wayne G from this for sure.
This should've been included on Ram, even just as an instrumental. It's better than at least four of the tracks that were.
Its all in the McCartney Legace book
I like
What's crazy is this sounds like a track of today as if someone has copied this
👍
What year was this from? Sounds quite like an out take from Band On the Run.
Dave Costello Sunshine sometime it’s from the McCartney sessions in 1970.
It was originally recorded as an instrumental during Ram, the vocals were added in 1978.
Instrumental mostly recorded in 1971, with the bass and lead vocal recorded in 1978.
Mac Demarco has a lot to say.
Mamunia.
Where is the fucking video of this place
Fue tu culpa !(?
Is this on an album?
No
On Ram (released in 2012)
