Not only a beautiful song with a strong melody but exactly what I‘ve experienced many years ago with a woman named Yvonne. Literally the soundtrack of my life...
That was a beautiful song that came about purely from a postcard I received from Nick Mason who is the drummer with Pink Floyd. It had this gorgeous picture of a girl on the front with a volcano exploding behind her. I showed it to Paul. I said, “Just look at this, this has come from Nick Mason,” and he looked at it and he said, “What’s it say?” “Oh when I first saw Yvonne volcanoes erupted”, and he sang, “Once I saw Yvonne, volcanoes erupted”, and he sang the first bloody line of the song! We went on from there and we wrote the whole song. That was the magic that he had with The Beatles. John Lennon did too. It was just something clicking and inspiring you, getting you excited about it. Eric Steward, interview with Amped, October 2017
John Pepe - It actually was written by Paul McCartney, and Eric Stewart (from 10cc and The Mindbenders). Eric did a totally different version on a 10cc album. Look it up. I prefer Paul's Beatlesque style much better.
It’s Paul’s vocal quality that gets me. Some of the lyrics sound a little patchy (it’s a demo) but the voice is absolutely lovely. Still in full possession of his performing talents.
I love this song. Especially the bridge in the middle. I had to grab my guitar and play along. So thankful someone found this gem and put it out here for us to enjoy.

Hallo Yvonne!! As I just got back from a 3 mimosa brunch I'm in a wonderful mood to remind you to listen to Paul's great song again and wish you a happy day!

Ya know Yvonne is the girl version of Juan and Juan in English is john so I'm just saying replace Yvonne with john and change the her and she into him he just saying I think there is more to this song that meets the eye
From Wikipedia: Yvonne (Ivon) is a female given name. It is the feminine form of Yvon, which is derived from the French name Yves. It is from the French word iv, meaning "yew" (or tree). Since yew wood was used for bows, Ivo may have been an occupational name meaning "archer". Yvonne/Ivonne is also a Spanish girl name.
Great song, i’m sure Maroon 5 tried copying the chorus to this for one of their songs. Shame Macca didn’t release it, I reckon it would have done quite well
Here Paul sounds exactly like all his AI versions, which makes me think they fed the AI with some of his 80s vocals, not his Beatles years or later years.
@@HolgerRuneFan we will just have to disagree. Yet the 10cc is the definitive version. The clear demo by Paul has never been released. It is clearly a demo as can be told by the simplistic arrangement, repetitive nature of the strumming and Paul's vocal. It IS a demo. You just like it more than a demo. For an excellent unreleased song around this time, try Lindiana.
@TubularBow HD nonsense. Have you heard 'grow old with me', 'peace in our time', 'ready to go home' and 'the monkey and the onion'? Come on! It's a wonderful album!!!
@TubularBow HD as an album, it is disjointed, I agree. Please also note, I prefer 10cc's version, but I still love Paul's. I think he could have adapted it a it and put it on the 'Press' album.
Great tune but typical McCartney matching it up with some pretty random pedestrian and generic "love" moon and June lyrics. I wish he had more to say - such tunes married to something more poignant, interesting, moving would have propelled him to much greater heights.

I am actually in this situation.. I can only hope; she will not realize it!
Wow such a coincidence i guess!
Imagine writing a song this good and not even bothering to release it
I've loved Paul since the age of 2 in 1965 (literally). This is his best unreleased song by far.
I've loved this one for decades. Why he didn't release this is puzzling.
In my opinion it hat a Lennon-feeling. Anyway the 10cc released it in 1995 but their version is HORRIBLE! They ruined it!
@@MarcoZucchi81 I agree. Song did not need a reggae spin which obscured the melody. This solo McCartney version is much better.
@@defaultc00kies63 Excellent theory. I see it as highly plausible.
