Can I just mention how Dialga didn't overextend his combos so that Kazuya wouldn't get rage drive?

Not sure if it was for that, but he did end up often shortening the combos so that he'd be in a far better position to follow up or start another combo. If he couldn't kill he didn't get greedy.

@@erickalvarez6486 Nah, that was incredibly impressive. Kazuya can easily kill starting from low % but the Bayo player has to master wicked combos and get amazing reads to follow up on them. Her hard hitting moves are very hard to land, so getting them to the edge or top to finish it off was almost the only option. Really, you're just saying that because you suck at the game.

This set was amazing
I have been very impressed with these Bayo players recently. Part of it could be due to small buffs made in the latest patch, but overall I'm glad the character is getting some love again after the last installment.

I’ve seen Riddles Kazuya and I have to say he practically got the character down. The FGC blood is running through his veins. It’s upsetting he’s gonna be in losers but I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes it to grand finals or at least close to grand finals
He'd lose in a real fighting game though. The balance in those games are very good. Unlike smash where these shotos/fighters are basically carry charscters

You do have a point about that. Compared to most other fighting games Smash is more fair. For Kazuya’s EWGF in his original game you need to input it at a just frame or within 1 frame but in Smash it’s a frame extra so in that regard Smash is more fair on the inputs and their timings (doesn’t mean they’re easy to do though especially in a high pressure match)
@@Yokai_Yuri I know it doesn't prove his ability to play, but he did clear all Terry Trials in KOF13. With enough time, he'd adapt real fast, but it'd just give him bad Smash habits. He clearly has the mechanical potential and input mastery that any good fighting game player needs. Wouldn't be fair to put him in a tournament as he is though.

Dialga is honestly playing pretty well considering all the damage he has to put to take a stock compared to how a couple of hits from Kazuya sends him dead…it’s like he has to be untouchable to win

I never realized how crazy Bayo's movement is before this match. She didn't need to zip all over the place when she was the best character in the game, lol.
I’d argue bayo is the most mobile character in this game tbh. She is so hard to pin down with those burst movement options
@@ednamode9048 As a Bayo main I think I agree, though characters that are super fast like Sonic give her a bit of competition in that department. Shoutout to Meta Knight for probably having the most varied ways to recover as well.

TheMightyDialga is insane. Their combos were so clean and they avoided overextending to keep the best position in advantage.

@@alexpotts6520 People are stupid. They pretty much nerfed her so hard that she's one of the worst characters in the game for anyone that isn't a pro-level player. She can still kick ass if you are, but if you aren't then any halfway decent player is going to give you a very hard time.

bruh kazuyas recovery is amazing, he has NO FREE FALL STATE, and he is not a GLASS CANNON.
Nah, his recovery seems like it can be exploited with ease by someone with good aerial mobility or even a spike, you can see there that Bayo did spike him, it's not bad, just average for what i can see. As for the glass cannon, yeah he is, in his disadvantage state, that is.
@@brinst_ar No, he isn't a glass cannon and his recovery is incredible. First of all, glass cannons are lightweight and Kazuya is among the heavier characters, so no he isn't one at all. And Bayonetta is one of the few characters that can actually nerf his recovery pretty well (if you're good with her). Most others aren't able to, his up special is powerful and dangerous. It's a kill move that doesn't leave him in free fall. Kazuya has a ton of recovery options thanks to that and he can get back to the stage rather easily. It's easily one of the top 30% recoveries in the game, if not better. Basically the announcers didn't know anything.
now people think bayo beats kazuya. as a bayo player i dont think thats the case at all. this set was by far the worst set of kazuya ive seen from riddles. he looked flustered mentally and he was out of it execution wise. kazuya has mobility options, burst options, and damage options that bayo cannot easily deal with. yes kazuya has it rough in disadvatge vs bayo but thats like every character in the game.
I was SCREAMING for Riddles to just go Terry this whole set.

Riddles should have been playing in his strengths instead he keeps falling on Daligada's hit confirm air moves. To be fair, Riddles did able to push through despite Kazuya's flaws. Good game bro.
I see a lot of Kazuyas jump around a lot.. he has a 7 frame jump squat and being juggled high up is really bad for Kazuya
@@alfonshedstrom9859 Kazuya has to jump and contest with air to airs against aerial heavy characters, since he doesn't have any grounded high reaching moves to stop someone from just shield pressuring him to death through the air.
It's most likely a case of matchup inexperience in the rough matchup. It can happen to anyone.

This matchup looks hard for Kazuya just from looking at it. Hard to catch her and Bats Within really messes with some of the Combos.

Holy shit this machup is insane.
Bayos mobility and bats within allow her to swoop in and out of kazuyas range with ease and wrack up some hefty damage as well as avoid kazs usual ludicrously high damage combos but this gets counterbalanced by the fact that kaz needs only a few hits to take a bayo stock and since she struggles to kill he has a guaranteed free use of his superform which makes things even harder on the bayo since she needs to be basically untouchable in order to win.

Honestly I like riddles but I’m really glad to see dialga’s bayo take him on.
Funny they cut off just before the fist bump, these are usually cut about a minute or so after the set ends, usually ending on the commentators. Just coincidence?

@@Harley389 Not really, Bat Whithin doesnt slow down the opponent enough for Bayo to get a punish like the Aegis. It serves more as an escape option. But OP is right, he could have started reading those airdodges with a held smash attack

Bayonetta and Kazuya are both the most technical fighters in the game. Very difficult learning curve, but when they work, they can destory.

Was is just me or did the commentators seem a little biased for riddles. Both players played fantastic by all means but it seemed like when bayo hit a lot of nice combos they didnt pop off while kazuya hit some here and there but got way more pop off from the commentators..
Kazuya is the new cool thing in the block, with Riddles being arguably the more popular player. There is always some form of bias, as most people want to see Riddles in the top cut
Bayo combos arent that cool if they get repeated over and over. I enjoyed the first game and then got kinda bored.

Besides, bayoneta’s combos are elaborated. Kazuya can kill you if you have 50%+ just pressing a a a a a a a a a (and don’t forget one of the hits in the combo ignores the shield)

Kazuya is a heavier character with a decent hurtbox he’s going to get combod a lot unfortunately. I play a decent amount of bayo and the matchup is definitely in her favor

*Bayonetta’s kit in general is just good even if it isn’t her smash 4 version* Kazuyas design is just terrible and he’s literally only playable because of the I-frames he has on a lot of his attacks, without those the character really just doesn’t do anything.

Why does he still go for electrics at high percent? Why not go for a roundhouse to triple kicks or spinning demon to left hook? Just anything really
Because electrics kill confirm into upsmash and up b, and you miss them (or land them on shield) it’s way safer than the two options you mentioned.
The first hit of twin pistons could be ok.
fyi instead of “spinning demon to left hook” every time, Tekken players call it a Hellsweep. It’s probably his 2nd most popular move after Ewgf
