Dennis Yost died some years back as a result of a fall at home. He was an incredible singer and made my years in high school enjoyable listening to his music. Rest in Peace Dennis.
I am 72, and about the same age as these guys. Those of us who grew up in the 50's, the 60's and 70' s were the luckiest generation, we got the best of our parents, and even grandparents and our music. We had the best groups, and singers and entertainers in their prime, and older acts before they were gone. The times were not peaches and cream, at least from the late 60's on were not, there was Viet Nam, Civil Rights, Black Power ( which was totally different than Civil Rights), Women's Lib and bra burning, while their sons and brothers and boyfriends were burning their draft cars, there was the generation gap, which was brought home with our slogan " don't trust anyone over 30". Every night at supper time we saw tortured bodies in Viet Nam, and in the same half hour often we saw cops turn fire hoses on black kids, or older black folks, sometimes dogs would be set on them. Everyone hated everyone else. 1968 when I graduated high school, is called by historians " the year America had a nervous breakdown. How did we survive it all? With music like this.
what a great melody his tone very nice with the 60's gear what a good job those engineers wit what they had back then, it' almost to good compared to the sh*t we hear today .
I have always enjoyed listening to the Classic 1V, I played my album till I wore it out. I love the sweet mellow sound of Dennis Yost's voice and his band.
BB: Billboard, CB: Cash Box, RW: Record World.
In response to Ramiro two posts below this one, the only difference between the artists back then and today is the fact that the singers today use auto-tune...that doesn't necessarily guarantee stardom these days either.
Be still my teenage heart in my 70 year old body!!! ❤
Tmjuntas ❤😂😂😂😂
You are still young, forever.
The greatest songs ever. Dennis was a magnificent singer in GREAT AMERICA!!!!! Sure miss those good ole days.

Perhaps one of the best voices of all times......R.I.P. Dennis Yost
Grossly underated singer and Band
I'll take away the word "perhaps" in your comment. Other than that I agree.......He had one of the best voices of all time.
RIGHT NOW,We DON'T HAVE SINGERS LIKE We HAD Back Then AND WE Won't!!!

@@jacobfranz1204 That's exactly right. The years have gone by so fast you can't even think about it. God bless those great years!
@@jacobfranz1204 Very well said Jacob!
Dennis was the best and so under rated. Had one of the best voices of his generation
Truly the best!!!! Never gets old
What a great effervescence of creative pop music at this time in the late 1960s. Dennis Yost and the Classics Four were among the best.

One of my favorite groups from the 60s. They had one hit after another.
My past has caught up loved them still do🥰🥰
Did anyone forget my favorite song”Spooky”which has that great sax solo?Remember ARS covered it with a great guitar solo instead of the sax solo.

I don't know who this but I like it
The Classic IV, they had a few AM radio hits (Spooky, Stormy, Traces) back in the late 1960's.
I got to see them at a nightclub in Houston, called the Foxhunter, in the early 70’s. They were great, good memories!!!!
I count 5...
