It's going to take a few videos to dial in the audio settings and cam-swap pacing of the new studio setup, so yeah, pardon the scuff. We'll get there... eventually...
That's quite a bombshell to me, how you listen on average at such a low volume, Crin. Probably goes to show how well you take care of your ears. If anything, a guide on ear health would be nice.
That's what I've been saying! We need that ear health guide as soon as he is comfortable enough to make it. Too many people are listening at extremely high volumes while cranking up the bass as high as possible, only to suffer from tinnitus or go partially deaf by 30, it's depressing.
Seconded! The cool thing about the AirPods Pro is that you can measure the dB you listen at while music is playing. I'll try and lower my volume for my ear health too.
Crin talked about it in one of his QAs - clean your ears while you shower, don't use Qtips. If you still have worries then there is a clinical cleaning which has helped many.
For me, as someone with mild to moderate hearing loss (30--36 dBHL), the killer feature was the ability to for me to do an audiogram on my iphone and automatically create an adaptive EQ profile to compensate for my hearing loss. I have to say the improvement was very noticeable.
Nice to see Apple improving their AirPods line up over the years. Competition is always welcome in the audio gear space. Though unlikely, I hope they support spatial audio on Android at some point
Aren't the sound quality of airpods pro bad on android because of the codec it uses? I felt that the sound quality was bad compared to other earbuds I have.
@@EvexDN I doubt so honestly. What exactly do you mean by the sound quality being bad though? It could possibly just be how your phone specifically processes audio, or a poor quality file, or improper seal etc, so there are many potential reasons why it sounds shit to you(it could even just be a dislike for the tuning)
Bear in mind that you can change the settings on the AirPods Pro 2's between modes just by squeezing and holding on the stems. If you are an Android user this means that you don't need to leave them in one mode. The video didn't point this out, hence my comment. (you can also adjust the volume from the stem as well). I've been very happy with mine and will be surprising my wife with some for xmas. The transparency mode was the biggie for me buying these - other air buds that I've owned/used really annoyed me when walking or making calls as you end up feeling like you have blocked ears and hear every step or your own voice echoing inside your head. The transparency mode is so good that at times I've forgotten that I still have the pods in my ears. It's not 100% natural but is seriously impressive.
your so correct this comment represents the new airpods so well i love them and they are amazing quality and amazingly engineered to allow easy accessibility to features
yep, you can also completely turn off the transparency/anc modes on non-ios devices by just connecting them to ios once and enabling that option. the airpods pro worked quite well on android imo
Got the Buds2 Pro at release, love them. Then I also got the new Airpods Pro 2 a week after their release and I've come to the same conclusion. I most often use the Airpods even though I prefer the sound of the Buds2 Pro. Not just is the ANC really good, the mic for meetings, too. And I feel like they're a bit more comfortable to wear through the whole day
i got sony xm4s simply because i feel theyre almost the same in all important specs as the app2 (except that they do take a little longer to put on) but the app2 even with good deals still cost like 260 (normally 300) vs the xm4s 200 or with good deals even a bit less
I watched the Galaxy buds 2 pro review and found out that the original galaxy buds pro were pretty decent, and when they came on sale for $60, I just couldn't pass it on it. Got it and can confirm, they sound probably the best than any other earbuds under $100. Thanks crinacle
For my personal experience, the adaptive eq is mainly deployed whenever transparency and ANC mode turned on, i guess thats to compensate the freq. that used to counteract other noise. Whenever i turn on the TRANS and ANC mode i can immediately tell the eq is activated and the sonic bandwidth is narrowed hence less headroom and acoustic roll off is reduced by quite a lot. However, whenever i turn off the ANC mode, use it as a normal true-wireless headset, i can feel the transition , roll-off and headroom are performing really really good. From rock music to the great Mahler symphony they all sound pretty darn good when considering its price and functionality. Just that the soundstage is not being as wide and accurate as what i would like to. Overall, well done Apple, hats off the the engineers of apple
This video dropping before Black Friday and not during December , when youtubers make more money, is the ultimate act of kindness a reviewer can give his audience. Thank you uncle Crinacle ☺️
This is the first video I've watches on your channel and I really enjoyed it. You seem very educated, and I love the humor you throw in. This was a nice find, thank you and keep making great videos.
My first impression: you freaking rock dude. I’m going to ramble through your videos this weekend but I already know we are both serious audiophiles. Me, for over 50 years I have been a massive vintage and new gear collector. Ranging from Quad ESL57’s for pure stereo through a Martin Logan Prodigy-based 6.3 ht system. And many other systems in between. 🤙🏻
Worth mentioning (because I found out the hard way when I checked them out per your recommendation) that no present day galaxy buds are fully supported by iOS devices. The app doesn’t support them, so can’t tweak any settings whatsoever.
The same is true the other way around; AirPods have very limited functionality on Android. IMO you already decided Galaxy Buds vs AirPods when you decided Android or iPhone. This is especially evident if you want to listen with no ANC or Passthrough - Passive isolation on AirPods is only supported on iPhones, where passive isolation on the Galaxy Buds are only supported on Android. This is huge and something that more reviewers should be mentioning: Completely disabling any form of ANC/Passthrough will drastically improve battery life at minimal loss of fidelity, and IMO is a must have for any ANC TWS earbuds. It's a shame that these companies can't just agree on a cross platform standard where everything works on all platforms. Or even just a "third step" built into the ear controls between ANC and passthrough mode for passive nc. Wouldn't that be nice :/
@@cjeffcoatjr you can configure the ANC/passive/transparency cycle of the airpods on an Iphone and then use it on any other Android phone (as I'm doing). It's funny because you can't do the same in the Wear App of the Buds2 Pro, it's always ANC or transparency.
@@cjeffcoatjr Is that on the buds pro2? I have the pro 1 and you can configure your settings and shortcuts to enable anc or passthrough on the wear app on pc or android and then the settings are saved to your buds. So you can toggle anc/passthrough on iphone once you configure it.
What's even more sad is that this functionality exists... on fake Airpods Pros, using the AirReps chipset apps available on android. In fact, they allow firmware flashing, customization of stem presses and equalization. And yet the 2 trillion dollar company Apple -cannot- will not.
I actually cried when I got mine. I own higher-end over-the-ear headphones, but, something about the sound isolation of the snug little earbuds blocking out the outer world just moved me to tears. It just sounded so good, and it seemed to automatically bring my favorite songs closer to me. I understand that there are other options out there (some at a lower price range), but a the moment, what can I say? I was overwhelmed.
I’m happy for your sonic empowerment! They do sound really smooth, detailed and balanced. I do remixes of songs and I use Snapchat characters for the videos. (You should check it out). So, anyway, if I’m adding vocals to the song in, I’ll wear my AirPods because they don’t show up over the Snapchat character-filter! // Be well! - _The Acoustic Rabbit Hole_
I'm a Samsung user, but decided to buy the Airpods Pro 2 and do not regret it. I actually really enjoy the sound from the Airpods a lot due to comfort, really good ANC, and I love the transparency mode. My galaxy buds pro gen 1, had horrible anc, had okay transparency mode, good sound, and horrible fit. I'm really satisfied with the airpods, definitely worth the money in my opinion.
I’ve tested AirPods max and used AirPods Pro 1 over a year , the spatial audio is actually amazing if you have the content.Especially Dolby atmos movies and spatial audio music.I found the soundstage and imaging decent for a wireless earbud . What was amazing and quite surprising to me was some Netflix shows are sounding crazy with imaging. There were a few episodes of tv shows I can’t remember now I had to take the earbud of and check my surroundings , it was that impressive making you thought the sound was coming from real life, like someone whispering , a door cracking or a vehicle sound.but this is strictly related to the source of course And I’m not a geek in all of this I’m very casual consumer so I can’t give a qualified impression as much as crinacle But I’m really into surround sound especially in games and movies so I’m hardly impressed by products like mainstream gaming headsets. I’m also a sennheiser hd560s and ifi dac amp2 user thanks to crinacle and many other audiophile advisers. Sad thing is my wife just grabbed my AirPods pro1 and give me the old basic AirPods so I can’t enjoy this product any more lol So has anyone had this occasional moments while watching a Netflix tv show and had to take the AirPods off getting confused whether the sound source was coming from outside, or is it just me ? 😅
ive used the airpods max of a friend of mine and listening to music with them is an insanely new experience. It feels like youre IN the music, like floating inside all notes per se.
In contrast, spatial audio was hella annoying for me, at least on the AirPods Max. I tried getting used to it but eventually turned it off because I just found it too gimmicky.
Spatial audio on surround sound sources does sound great, watching Netflix on an iPad with them is a very good experience. On two channel source it sound weird and best left off unless it’s something like an early stereo mix with hard panning. For most music it sounds pretty good, even if the sound isn’t the absolute best the integration with iOS is top notch.
Im 22, I recently started taking care of my ears. I went to clubs pretty much every weekend. Also I went to quite a few concerts. And use headphones every day. I was quite surprised that my hearing is still good up to 19khz and I went to test the hearing and up to 8khz its normal. So Its good I started wearing earplugs and taking care of hearing before its too late.
Moving to a studio from your room makes sense and this is the first video so it wasn’t going to be perfect but I hope you have someone who is reviewing and helping you with the setup. The inconsistency between two camera was annoying enough to break my engagement. You should at least get identical exposure and similar depth of field so the transition doesn’t seem so off. And I would say your main camera can use some help as well. the wall is too close to you to get any type of separation and the lighting hits the wall vs hitting you. I keep looking at the wall (and it’s a red wall!!!!) and not at you. Combining the new setup with your unfamiliarity recording with two cameras, I feel like the video brought down the quality of what could have been an amazing review. Thanks for putting your time in for the research. The content was great as always.
Android user here and 8min in I have to correct u on a few things. You can toggle between all modes as long as you have connected it once on a friends iphone or mac and turned the settings on. I also went from sonys arguably best in ear NC headphones and the reason I change was the SUPERIOR nc. Even the cheapes buds will cut low HZ noice good enough but what often happen is that although everything is basically more quiet, voices sip through in a way more transparent than without NC. Airpods decimate the Competition in blocking out voices which is what you want in an office or commute space. There is also great EQ options to adjust via dolby atmos in my android phone stock. Connections are fantastic and I love how they seem to beone of the few where you can choose to use left or only right bud, there is no master and at the same time, still have full ability to pause, skip forward, backwards, volume, nc settings all on both buds. It's a solid product even as a android user.
You have a fantastic mic, yet your recording is crackling. Check your audio chain and see what causes crackling. Maybe it's a bad outlet, or a PC component, or a wire. Not sure what you are recording with, but I am personally connecting my audio interface to a PC with ifi iDefender+. I've had this issue and this thing solved most of my problems. Hope that helps.
@@cianbrady1557 it is definitely not vinyl crackle on the background. You can clearly hear the crackle in the very beginning of the video where the music isn't playing at all
Wait it’s the adaptive EQ that shifts the center and screws with the audio? I seriously had an appointment with my ear doctor because I thought my left ear had an issue
These are an improvement over the 1st gen buds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxK5mc3yw4xA7Mf2j6k6n1Uqv_KUgrKdeM Pros: The fit is fantastic. This is the biggest plus. They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.
I am an apple user And let me just say i love these They are my daily beaters Im so used to these now that sometimes I try to remove them even when they are not in my ears This is the best transparency I’ve ever experienced
My Motorola Defy Had that "Loudness Equalization" in the Cyanogenmod rom! (It had a program called DSP Manager) I LOVED THAT! It was my favourite music device back in 2012! Music sounded so good on low volume on stupidly cheap IEMs!
I have spatial audio on all the time. Sooo gooood. Love it for podcasts. Really feels like you're in the room with them. I empathize with trying to use AirPods on Android.
Pro tip for Android users that are willing to have a more jank set up. You can use a family member's iphone (or if you have one laying around) pair the Pods to that iPhone to set the stem squeeze to cycle transparency and noise cancelling. I did that with my air pods pro 1 and it was a pretty solid way to get some simole feature control
I also consider myself as an audiophile, and I really like the AirPod pro 2. The tuning is pleasant with enough detail. That’s all I’m asking from a IEM and it delivers and ANC is really good. Plus other nice-to-have features, so highly recommended. Some personal info for you reference. Listening to classical music 99% of the music listening time (beside UA-cam and podcasts) Prefer to sound of the HD600 and 650.
Good to hear that Apple keep making good IEMs. Just a shame that they basically say "you'll only use these properly if you have an iPhone", which means I'll never get them. Apple needs to learn how to be more inclusive.
Yeah, i've found that if you want to get Spatial Audio Personalization to work as intended, you really need to do it as accurately as you can. There's been times where it would scan things that aren't my ear and show me the completion screen when its obviously a false scan. That and you really have to have a completely unobstructed view of your ears too. Ideally you want someone to hold the phone for you.
I'm listening this on my airpods as a musician and this blows my mind, adaptive EQ is a really big part of your experience with listening to things on a lower volume, thing that leads to an overall better experience on the trasparency mode😮
I'm an android user too, got them in a side quest and kept them for daily use and they did not disappoint, oddly, they did perform well, the DSP really does some amazing work in daily use compensating for seal and all that (really good user experience👌)
The second you said “pretty good” at around 17:00 my face visibly dropped. Did not expect that review at all tbh, but you might actually make me buy them now
The reason why the Personalised Spatial Audio didn't sound that different to you is probably because your HRTF that was generated by the Face-ID camera is very very similar to the generic HRTF that Apple uses by default.
I quite like them but noticed that they sometimes behave a bit strangely. Thanks for explaining it. Unfortunately they sometimes completely loose sync when in spatial audio. I have to put them back into the case to get them working again. Others on reddit have had this as well.
My wife bought me AirPods Pro 2 after I lost an earbud at the airport from my 2 yo Sony’s. I’m impressed by the ANC and I really like not having to boost the volume up. I enjoy the bass! As a prisoner of Apple, the integration with my iPad and switching back and forth is amazing.
The fiios are great! I used them for around 2 years until they broke on me. Just replaced them with AirPods Pro 2 though 😅. I needed that transparency and ANC
The image shift is a known issue that should be fixed in a firmware update. Widely reported already. Not someone only critical listening ears can pick up. Didn't occur in the 1st generation pros.
Ok now that makes sense. I’ve been wondering why sometimes my Airpods Pro have channel imbalance. Putting it again in the case seems to reset it. Its annoying when you just wanna listen to your music on the go. That low volume listening is true also, noticed on lower volume 50%
New studio looks great but dear lord PLEASE treat it acoustically. You can’t talk about how good or bad IEMs sound when filming in an untreated space like that.
It’s the same thing in reverse, the galaxy earphones and the pixel buds don’t support most of their features on iPhone like ANC adjustment, EQ, custom touch controls etc. It just seems like they’ve decided that people will just stick to their ecosystem and it’s not economically viable for them to support the other. I don’t like it, but it seems to be the case on both sides.
yeah it was a weird one as I had been tempted to get the AirPods Pro original back when I was on android and prior to galaxy buds pro release... but was put off by the lack of an app. But then when I switched found that the buds pro didn't have an app on iPhone (technically there was but stopped after buds plus). Still find that the worst is using any tws or headphones on windows (specifically desktop). But ofc it is just to force u into the ecosystem, ended up getting MacBook and now everything works seamlessly.
Interesting about the low volume listening. Since I got my AirPod pros for my daily commute in a van it has transformed my listening from hammering the radio almost full to putting on my airpods with ANC and it’s instantly like I’m in a library so can listen to my music so low it’s going to be great for my ears in the long run😄👌🏼
Just to let you know, driving with earbuds in is dangerous and even illegal in many places. Considered a form of distracted driving because you can’t hear what’s going on.
@@nv602unclebuck they let through higher pitch sounds so you can hear car horns or sirens still. Probably more so than before when I had the radio up loud!😂
Spatial audio on Apple TV is where it shines. It has different algorithms to simulate a living room theatre. Customising it and playing channel check test tones makes you head just what a difference personalisation makes. It’s like a dirt cheap smyth realizer
Why won't you use a headphone for movies?? Earphones are just for calls and listening to stuffs when you are out..(not at home or at some public place..)
@@mena4108 yeah I get what you mean to say..They are not for all occasions but they are way more comfortable and sound way better..I have Sony link buds (My work case required that great transparency..) but whenever I am in my home or office, I use my XM3s (I tuned it according to my taste).. Well not to judge someone but, I haven't seen someone watching movies and all in public places..(at most they use tik tok or watch casual YT videos..) Adaptive EQ was designed for the AirPods 3, which is makes a lot of sense for. I still like it in my 2s as it helps with bass response as I walk around and the AirPods shift in my ear which was an issue with the 1s.
And to my ears Truthear Zero x Crinacle is amazing!!! 👍 I’ve ordered few more pairs as Christmas gifts for my audiophile friends. But Dioko a bit weird to me. My ears can’t stand those planar treble 🤦🏻♂️ And no amount of EQ can fix them for me.
Thank you for this nice overview! I own the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, the Sony XM4, the Apple AirPods Pro 2 aaaand the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3. And to for me concerning sound quality, the Sennheiser are simply the best.
Best AirPod Pro 2 review so far, congrats Crin. I have many good EIMs including the Monarch MKII, but since I got my airpods pro 2, they are barely used now. Main reason CONFORT, plus the many features of the Airpod Pro 2 in the apple ecosystem is just a killer combination, Monarch may sound better but the airpodds Pro 2 are not slouch in tonality.
What better buy Monarch or AirPods Pro2. The quality of sound in Monarch is much better than Pro 2..? Thanks for help because I want buy Monarch or Pro2
@@robertrachwa2582 hard to say, if we give the Monarch a 10 in sound quality i would put the airpod pro II at 9, but I also own the $50 the Truthear Zero x Crinacle, amazing sound at 9.5 IMO. So is up to you if the difference in money is worth it.
I'm not sure if I didn't follow your comments, but the spatial audio improvements with the Face ID camera are geared toward surround sound and head-tracking functions. It's very Apple ecosystem, but if you have an Apple TV, it can do surround sound shockingly well. I like it more than my soundbar-based 5.1 system. And it is aware of your head movements, so the sounds stays spacially fixed as you move - like if you look away from the TV. It's shockingly well implemented. Also, I understand that the quality of this effect is uneven, based on individual anatomy. I believe Apple is taking the scan of your ears and putting you in a finite set of DSP profile buckets. I might be a luck one.
Hi Crin, bought couple of IEM based on your reviews. Love your work! I also got the Galaxy Buds Pro, loved the sound and 1000% trust your judgement. I've recently made the jump to an iPhone so am now looking for a new wireless earbuds for it. If I get the Airpods Pro 2 (USB C version), can you recommend an EQ preset for it that closely match the Galaxy Buds Pro2 (since you prefer this better)?
this tech is amazing, and its amazing theres basicly nothing wrong with earbuds now, it used to be that every model had huge downsides and massive ranges missing in the EQ, now everything just works.
12:33 literally this is what has been happening to me, it makes me extremely uncomfortable when one AirPod sounds even the slightest amount different than the other. I knew that there was adaptive EQ but I didn’t know that the algorithm reset every time you took it out of your ear
@crinacle. Great review. Spot on on the convivence factor of the AirPods. Out of the box, the AirPods Pro 2 sounded awful to me. As you said the highs are very muted. I went thru all the personalisations and they sounded a bit better. Then I discovered the "Accessibility/Headphone Accommodations/Tune Audio For - Brightness" setting - WTF Apple! This is the treble control that will restore the highs and bring back the transients ... check it out.
@@darkarsar1365 ye it has that option you could pick the sound you like or you could download a picture of profile that you like and they would tune it for you. Same here. It does improve some types of music but others get worse. I didn´t expect to have this "issues" with 300€ earphones. Way overpriced for me, but it was a gift.
@@downhiller010 exactly! Still it's a feature rich and also one of the best in sound quality for TWS. Sound characteristic is hard to justify because it's up to people taste but i agree with you that it's more expensive than competitors. After your review of Bud2 Pro I’ve bought them to try it with iPhone/MacBook. And I’ve returned them after a few days of testing. I have Buds Plus as my second TWS when AirPods Pro discharged or I need to listen music wirelessly. And Buds2 Pro treble sounds weird. Much more weird than Buds Plus. Maybe it shines with Samsung phones. But with Apple it’s a no go. And noise cancellation in Buds2 Pro sucks
@Joel O what are you talking about? Wired headphones connected through the dongle sounds exactly the same as from any other source - android/windows/linux
@Joel O if you’re watching this channel I expect you’re not a hardcore subjectivist who deny all the measurements. So I’ve measured enough DACs sourcing them from different devices running iPhone/Android/Windows/Linux/MacOS to say they all measures the same (except for max volume level in rare cases) if you use correct bitperfect player. And iOS/macOS do no harm to the sound on the default settings even with Apple Music as the player. So if your other devices sounds different from iPhone dongle the problem either in your devices or some iPhone settings
Obviously if you are using it with apple products then u are dumb.. as competitors they would do anything to make it sound worst. Similar with apple to samsung.. try using it to a neutral brands. I own iphone 14proMax and s22ultra as of my time on commenting here.
I bought these for a day to try them out at work and bought the Bose qc2 buds the following day to compare.. I work in a really loud environment so the Bose seem to be much better for me. The AirPods are pretty solid though, I like them but Bose just fit better, sound better and have better noise cancellation. Just wish they had the AirPod compatibility
You're "over engineered" is exactly why i love them. As a person with mild hearing loss, being able to listen at low volume and not feel like im losing out on percieved high and low extension makes these a pleasure to listen to at very low volume.
he wasn't saying the volume compensation was over engineering he was very positive about it. he was saying the adaptive dsp based on fit was over engineering
I pitted the buds 2 pro against my reigning champ the Sennheiser momentum 3. The sound I found was slightly better with the m3tw because of the huge soundstage compared to the buds2 pro. The buds2 pro reminded me of the 6xx headphones, very narrow soundstage. The mids are good, the highs are not harsh, however the bass all sounds the same. It's just a very narrow punch sound. I prefer sub bass and like a wide bass range. This is where the buds2 pro were sent back. The preset controlls were annoying as well. I actually loved the auto pause/transparency mode when talking however but the transparency mode was pretty glitchy going in and out similar to the auto noise cancelling based on your surroundings. Overall I can't recommend them.
I have both the buds 2 Pro and Sennheiser momentum true wireless 3. Along with WF-1000XM4 and Bose sport. I'd say there are songs what I actually enjoy more on the buds 2 Pro than on the Sennheiser or the Sony which are much more bass heavy
I bought the Samsung buds 2 as an IOS user last week. It was the same bs. No spacial audio. Couldn’t turn anc on or off. I had none of the features. The audio also played at a lower quality. I ended up giving them to someone who had an android. It was disappointing and frustrating
@@kob6183 this. I have a fake set of AirPods Pros that have the chip, which triggers the AirPods Animation on the iPhone even though it’s fake. It even gives me the option to use Spatial Audio even though it’s not capable of doing it since it’s fake.

Personalization really helps with localisation. Try running atmos broadband test noises for rear channels and toggle Personalization on and off. It also has different virtual rooms on the apple TV vs the phone
Can anyone tell me what it would be like to switch from a mid-to-hi fi set of wired IEMs (I'm daily driving the IE 600s) to something like the airpods pro 2 for regular outdoor use? Is the sacrifice in sound quality worth the wireless functionality, ANC, etc for commuting and light workouts?
I use the 7Hz Timeless at home and on the go the XM4 and now the Airpods Pro 2. Commuting without ANC is a no go for me. The noise drowns out most of the details anyway so at least I can enjoy music at a normal volume.
Actually I spent about three years doing ANC and I have gone back to just using hifi IEMs because I couldn't do the Bluetooth and ANC world anymore. It spikes the price for lower quality sound, and the ANC is never that great even on a train, at least with true wireless buds. Over ear ANC works better, but I'll not go back. Especially with batteries if TW earbuds dying after about two years

@@EvexDN 4:06
@@Half-V AAC is supported on android though
@@EvexDN I doubt so honestly. What exactly do you mean by the sound quality being bad though? It could possibly just be how your phone specifically processes audio, or a poor quality file, or improper seal etc, so there are many potential reasons why it sounds shit to you(it could even just be a dislike for the tuning)
@Sycron you can toggle fixed or following spatial audio
Wait is the volume controls on the airpods new to the 2nd gen? Or am I just woefully unobservant?
@@RobertJBareIII yep, the external volume control is new.
And I feel like they're a bit more comfortable to wear through the whole day
So it basically boils down to if you have an Android get Buds 2 Pro and if you have an iPhone then get Airpods ?
Same here! Switching both iems constantly. Sub-bass on the Buds2 Pro makes a difference but comfort and transparency on the Airpods are better...
i got sony xm4s simply because i feel theyre almost the same in all important specs as the app2 (except that they do take a little longer to put on) but the app2 even with good deals still cost like 260 (normally 300) vs the xm4s 200 or with good deals even a bit less
May I ask how much of a sound quality differences there is in your opinion?
The wind filter on the Galaxy Buds is an amazing feature. It isn't used often, but when it is, it is great.
I watched the Galaxy buds 2 pro review and found out that the original galaxy buds pro were pretty decent, and when they came on sale for $60, I just couldn't pass it on it. Got it and can confirm, they sound probably the best than any other earbuds under $100. Thanks crinacle

Finally an airpod review i can actually trust
@@aborindio lol so it's like I said. You need an iPhone...
Lmfaooo getting mines this week i hope to cry too
I’m happy for your sonic empowerment! They do sound really smooth, detailed and balanced. I do remixes of songs and I use Snapchat characters for the videos. (You should check it out). I’d love to see a review of the Bluetooth adapters for IEMs like the fiio UTWS5 or TRN BT30 as an alternative to all-in-one buds.
I knew about your IEM list but I never knew you did UA-cam as well! This is the audiophile king right here
I’ve tested AirPods max and used AirPods Pro 1 over a year , the spatial audio is actually amazing if you have the content.Especially Dolby atmos movies and spatial audio music.I found the soundstage and imaging decent for a wireless earbud .
What was amazing and quite surprising to me was some Netflix shows are sounding crazy with imaging.
There were a few episodes of tv shows I can’t remember now I had to take the earbud of and check my surroundings , it was that impressive making you thought the sound was coming from real life, like someone whispering , a door cracking or a vehicle sound.but this is strictly related to the source of course
And I’m not a geek in all of this I’m very casual consumer so I can’t give a qualified impression as much as crinacle
But I’m really into surround sound especially in games and movies so I’m hardly impressed by products like mainstream gaming headsets.
I’m also a sennheiser hd560s and ifi dac amp2 user thanks to crinacle and many other audiophile advisers.
Sad thing is my wife just grabbed my AirPods pro1 and give me the old basic AirPods so I can’t enjoy this product any more lol
So has anyone had this occasional moments while watching a Netflix tv show and had to take the AirPods off getting confused whether the sound source was coming from outside, or is it just me ? 😅
ive used the airpods max of a friend of mine and listening to music with them is an insanely new experience. It feels like youre IN the music, like floating inside all notes per se.
Yep. And even without headphones and just the new macbook speakers is crazy as well
In contrast, spatial audio was hella annoying for me, at least on the AirPods Max.
Yes! I prefer watching my Apple TV with earbuds than my soundbar/woofer. Feels more... alive.

Pro tip for Android users that are willing to have a more jank set up. You can use a family member's iphone (or if you have one laying around) pair the Pods to that iPhone to set the stem squeeze to cycle transparency and noise cancelling. Good to hear that Apple keep making good IEMs. Just a shame that they basically say "you'll only use these properly if you have an iPhone", which means I'll never get them. Apple needs to learn how to be more inclusive.
First video I see of you and you got me hooked. I may have to binge your library today 😅

First time watching here - but I really love the style and presentation, coupled with the scientific approach to testing.

@@Lauren080508 Airpods pro 2 a 9? How?
I prefered your old studio more. It was more authentic and the mic quality sounded better (less echo) imo.

You should definitely try Oppo's Enco X2
I bought the Samsung buds 2 as an IOS user last week. It was the same bs. No spacial audio. Couldn’t turn anc on or off. I had none of the features. The audio also played at a lower quality. I ended up giving them to someone who had an android. It was disappointing and frustrating
Tbf spatial audio literally can’t be done because there has to be a special chip inside the phone and earbud for it
@@kob6183 this. I have a fake set of AirPods Pros that have the chip, which triggers the AirPods Animation on the iPhone even though it’s fake. It even gives me the option to use Spatial Audio even though it’s not capable of doing it since it’s fake.
First time watcher, very informative thank you!
The camera changes and zooms are really distracting, to me at least.
Edit: by the end of the video between the wobbly zooms, camera shifts and background music cut outs for emphasis I felt physically irritated by it all. Please tone it down.
I think it's worth it personally, yeah.
I am planning to buy the IE600 over the AirPods Pro 2. I don’t own an iOS device and that’s why the thought of owing an AirPod just thows me off.
I use the 7Hz Timeless at home and on the go the XM4 and now the Airpods Pro 2. Commuting without ANC is a no go for me. The noise drowns out most of the details anyway so at least I can enjoy music at a normal volume.
Get something like the Liberty Air+ Second Generation
Actually I spent about three years doing ANC and I have gone back to just using hifi IEMs because I couldn't do the Bluetooth and ANC world anymore. It spikes the price for lower quality sound, and the ANC is never that great even on a train, at least with true wireless buds. Over ear ANC works better, but I'll not go back. Especially with batteries if TW earbuds dying after about two years
As much as I love your content and effort, please consider to put a lowcut on your voice track. Every time, your mic slightly vibrates, there is a distractive sub bass response.
Thank you for your well made videos and keep it up :)
I really wish you didn’t play the same 8 second loop over and over throughout a long video made worse by the silly constant stop starts to emphasise I think funny moments or something. It really doesn’t work for me. I’m surprised an audiophile would allow such sloppy lazy background audio. Seemed like great content but I just couldn’t make peace with the background thing. Also re the amusing moments. Please trust me to work out what’s funny. It just feels more natural. Pop the jokettes in and let me find them. If I don’t think something is funny but you’ve told me its meant to be with the music then we part company whereas if you didn’t point it out I can be amused or not at my leisure. Please take my criticism how its meant. Positively and constructively. I loved the content.
New setup is sick 💎
