Thanks for extending this theme. In Rogue Leader the theme had a sound of "glory", but the original had a very serious sound. It makes victory seem much more uncertain.
SilentFlame100 Yea, but given the heroics of Luke Skywalker and company, victory may be uncertain but there are greater untold glories in achieving the conventionally impossible.
ISAFSoldier Rogue One showed the Impossible being made Possible. A Hammerhead Corvette Pushes a Star Destroyer into another one. And in ROTJ an A-Wing took down the Executor just by Ramming the Bridge. Even the destruction of the Death Star was a one in a million shot! Rogue Squadron contributed to the Early Victories and even the survival of the Rebellion.
My Father cleared this game with all the Gold Medals on it (if I remember well there were 15 Gold medals) I always wanted to be a skilled player like him :)
My dad used to play the original n64 and GameCube sequel. We later got rebel strike and me and my little brother played endurance endlessly. Just the sound of lasers and TIE fighters exploding was amazing, all on the original Wii which was backwards compatible with GC games.
The sound of the lasers fading into the distance, along the crimson lightning it radiated to the environment, gave a wonderful sense of depth to this game.
I really don't like the idea actually... We already have 3 games based on it, why not just make remaster of them and presto!! Rogue Squadron is back baby
For what they allege for the difficulty of the last levels of the game, the legend has it that "Only a pilot worthy of being part of the Rouge Squadron and with force as his ally, can complete this game." Nice childhood memories...
i was born in 1996, played this in about 2007-2008 with my grandpa's computer. And now listening to it brings the nostalgic tears to my eyes, and I have lost the ORIGINAL disc somewhere ;(. so many memories..

10 months later... Nevertheless, you have to use your secondary weapon, or C Left to deploy the tow cable. The Y-Wing also has an ion cannon as the secondary weapon as well. I hope this helps even after 10 months!
This title art is false advertising. At no point in the game were there *ever* AT-ATs *or* standard TIE Fighters at Mos Eisley. Strangely enough though, you *can* fly a Y-Wing there if you get Gold on all the levels, including the bonus levels. At least in the 3D version on PC.
the easiest of the rogue squadron games but also kinda the best of them. Rogue leader being a close second. But the experience was way better on pc. the n64 didnt have the power it needed for a game like this while gamecube made things right. as a launch title, rogue leader looks like an xbox360 title
Really? I found it to be the hardest of the three. For me, they got progressively easier, and mind you, I played this one after the first two, so no, it's not just a case of me playing the original as a child and getting better as time went along.

I fired it up again recently for the first time in probably 15 years. I started a new game and I have all gold medals except taloraan and sullust
So after grabbing this game on Steam I finally rose up to my old man. Took only like 16 years but I'm now a Supreme Allied Commander too.
