I just installed one in my Hilux. I was pleased to find that the rubber gromet in the firewall had a couple of rubber tubes with ends on that you just cut off and feed the new wires through. Made the install easy as. I hooked mine up to the ciggy plug so it would turn on and off with the accessories.

Hi how do you hook it to the 12v instead of straight to the battery?

@@tomsmd7 I connected it to the cig plug wire behind the dash so it would turn on with the aux.

Good vid. Nice, simple and to the point. I go through the same rubber cover on the fire wall too. Cheers

There is also a grommet near the exhaust on the driver-side of the firewall that I just cut a hole in to put my cables through, works a treat. Also if you run the power to the UHF off the 12 V plug in the centre console it means it will turn off when you turn the key off and you won’t get a flat battery, I’m assuming you have to turn your uhf on and off manually

When doing ur antenna put bolt on first to secure to Bull bar or nudge bar . Spray some silicone spray on antenna wire as u are feeding it thru grommet .
Those round things you connect to your battery are O ring terminals should have crimped then down on wires as when on dirt roads etc being like they are as u done it in ur video they can come lose
Rather going into grommet the way u have cut a small X and feed ur wires thru . Feed power cables first then antenna .
Plugging power into unit is last thing u do before reconnecting your battery terminals to battery posts .
Any reason why u went for that particular uhf
