Bumpers are a pain especially if the captive nuts spin in the plastic brackets. I've had some stainless steel replacements ones for mine. One day i will fit them. My bumper has never been removed. 😂 Just remember Rob to copper grease the bolts on installation 👍🏻
You should not have taken those bolts out of the front bumper bracket they are the height adjusters , you have destroyed them the top pressed on washer allowing it to operate will have been ripped off look at the bolt it has an unthreaded section that the washer presses on , the bumper is only held on with the side supports the front height adjusters just push into the rubber insulators To fix your issue you need to refit the 2 pieces of the height adjuster together then weld a washer on the top of them bolt where the pressed on washer once was this will allow the bolt to act as a height adjuster again Car look very solid tho 👍
Hi, Steve, This car has had a new front bumper fitted (not by me) it does not have any of what you are describing on it??? the two bolts were just done up tight? The front brackets look almost impossible to pull out of the bumper (the rubbers have gone hard).
@@RobsSierraCosworth hi mate I can see the other ends sticking out of the chassis kegs in the rubbers just prize them out the bolt you removed joins them together but from the factory cannot be removed due to the pressed on washer you will see the bolt has a very long thread that is how the height is adjusted if you put it together off the car you will see how it works the rear is the same so look at them they are usually siezed so use heat and oil to get them moving
(Fully charged but not an electric car?) I’m sure you would get a lot more subscribers if you named the channel something relevant to Ford, or Cosworth or Sierra for example…
Your car looks like a great original example
Hi Adam, I have been following your great channel on Cosworth for some time,Thanks
Morning mate looking forward to your videos 👊🏽

Thanks Retro 80's, the front bumper has been off before, the captive nuts on the fuel tank was a pain.

They snap off and spin. Then it's time for the drill to come out.
O yes, I had one that came out OK, one that I managed to cut off and get out the last one was the drill.
Following your cars progress avidly!!☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍👍
Thanks, Michael
