disclaimer Methods that are shown works great for me and they are not only methods out there, if you find this or any other method not comfortble, please use some other way.
Thank you and enjoy - Навчання та стиль
I like yours the best :)
Excellent ....
Very beautiful Tomislav.
Thank you Jack😀
Very nice!
beautiful.
Great video, loved your choice of paint
Very elegant looking. See the potential for inlays with that design.
Ohh yes, similar process would be for inlay as well.... Thank you for watching
Very cool. I’m gonna give this a try
I like that design. You make it look so easy
Thank you
Very nice - love seeing you talk through your design and change it on the fly.
Thank you very much
Very good Tomislav. I really do love 4 ways projects such a great idea
Thank you Richard...I enjoy being the part of it😉
Love your work my friend more and more I see if it !!!!!
Thank you
I really enjoyed the design process as the turning occurred. A beautiful and interesting bowl. Thank you.
Thank you Rachel ☺️
Very nice The paint added a nice touch to the bowl. Off to see the other 3 videos. thanks.
Thank you very much
Looks great tomislav nicely done 👍
Thanks Will 😉
Hi Tomislav I am loving the 4 way concept and learning so much crom watching these videos. Thanks to everyone for the time and effort you put into producing them. Could I suggest a project. The long stemmed green timber turned flowers where the stem and flower petals distort as they dry.
Many thanlks
🕶very nice project Tomislav. Love the details on the foot. I will definitely rewatch this one.
Thank you Steven, glad you liked it ☺️
Great 4 way project! I always enjoy the time you put into the bottoms of your bowls …. Really adds to the overall piece! Really like the contrast that the blue brings to the piece …. Great job, thank you 🤠🇨🇱
Thanks Randy, as always thank you for watching and support what we do
Love design opportunities. I get lucky to have a few more often than not. 😂😂
Aaaa yes,me to😉 don't worry about those....😅
That turned out to be very elegant, Tomislav. I love the way the color complements the shape of the edge and how the color in the single groove ties to the edge. Well done!
Thank you sir 😀
Thankyou, gentlemen, for another four ways video. This ongoing series really helps stimulate creativity in my own turning. After watching all four, and noting differences and different techniques, I have decided That I will try a Walnut bowl with and pentagon edge. Wish me luck.
Thank you for watching and support what we do and I happy to hear you'll go for it, just think of it as a series of steps.... Then it won't be difficult
What a great design! Expertly crafted as always, and the blue paint was such a good choice. It would be very much at home at a cookout by the pool or beach.
Thank you very much
Nice piece, love listening to your comments on design on the fly. Best sticking with “Design Opportunities” versus mistake!
Thank you very much 😀
Nice project. I like the simple uncluttered look on the top. I never used to decorate the bottom like you do. But now I will spend more time shaping inside the recessed area after seeing your work.
Thank you, I really like have the same attention on the bottom as well as on the show face.... Thank you for watching
Nice final result. I’m glad you got rid of the beads on either side of color stripe. I think the simple design looks better.
Thank you, I like that decision as well ☺️
Another really nice piece, the bottom detailing is a very nice touch I don't think I've seen it to that extent before.
Thank you, I've been using it constant in the last few months and feel it sort of makes a differenc between my piece and some elses....☺️
So may desig opportunities! Love how you dealt with them all. Very fine work and a very fine piece, love the blue on the maple. (And I agree the beads would have been too busy) And as always, many things to learn. Thanks for another entertaining educational video.
Thank you Joris😀
I think Sam and Mike were on a different page of the script! All very interesting techniques!
Idea for a future… how about some piercing??
Thank you Alain, probably there will at some stage😀
Thanks Tommi,
Great bowl, I really like the colour on bowl.
Design opportunities are a wonderful thing that’s for sure.
You seem to be able to make beads effortlessly whenever and wherever you like.
Thank you Greg, as you know its just practice and I always try to step a little outside comfort zone whenever possible
I really like the bottom detailing, Tomi.
I was just gonna say that 😂
Thank you Mike😉
Very beautiful 😍
You and Richard had such different approaches to the project. Two more to watch. So much to learn. I love these Four Ways videos.
Thank you, really glad to hear that
I have always been very critical of my own work I have made many pieces on the lathe but never felt it was gift worthy . At min 2:45 you said the most profound sentence I ever heard. "It is HAND MADE not CNC" you are spot on. That put things in perspective for me. Thank you I love your videos
Thank you Roy,I really appriciate support 😀
Don't worry about chaising perfection, use the effort to make as much of quallity items and near perfection will follow without to much effort.
Turned out great! I love the way you refer to your "design opportunities"! I need to think that way too. Not a problem, but a "design opportunity". Thank you!
Its rare thing to throw wood away due to some mistake, there is always smaller bowl or boxes or something to use....or just to redesign 🤗
As always thank you for watching 🤗
Good decision on the top beads and I think the resulting narrower blue line is preferable to a wider band. I love that blue on this wood.
Thank you Richard, I do like the decision on taking the beads away, much cleaner... Thank you
Good morning Thomas. Beautiful work as always. Few things. I agree with decorating the bottom. Shows excellent craftsmanship. Second, when you expanded the jaws on the bottom, there was plenty of wood to support it without having to worry about it splitting. I always pay strict attention to your videos. I learn from you and the apply what I learned to my work. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. Have a blessed day.
Thank you Keith very much, I'm honored to hear that and all I could say thank you for support
Great work! Thanks for another video
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Looks great, i cringed when you were making the beads. That is something i would never take the chance to do at that part of the project. My heart sunk, so glad you could recover. Beautiful job.
No risk no reward😅 thank you very much for watching
Love this - the blue is a good shade for the wood too - beautiful
Having those "Happy little accidents", like Bob Ross called them, turns those mishaps into a better design when you work with them instead allowing them to ruin your idea. The finished bowl looks great. Very nice work!
Thank you so much 😀
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you
Yes, the cleaner look is more elegant and less visually "busy".
I always like how you decorate bowl bottoms. Signature touch.
Thank you.
pure masterpeace made by " dancing with the knifes ",srdačan pozdrav iz Svete Klare . Miro
Hvala Miro😉
Beautiful creation 😊 and that’s what I love about turning, a little error get your imagination rolling and you go down a different road.
Don’t always think about the destruction just enjoy the joinery
Nicely said sir, thank you for watching
Very interesting project. I was curious how the faceting would be done. It was great watching how you worked through the various "design opportunities" that occurred. Those of us who haven't been turning as long have many more of those opportunities and it is really helpful to see how to deal with them. Also really liked seeing how you made the modifications by removing the beads -- that's one of the things I really need to work on -- being willing to erase details that are getting in the way of a nice, esthetic design. Loved the way you decorated the bottom; that really looks great.
Yours was the first of the four I have watched, now to watch the other three to see their take on this challenge.
Thank you Mark, for lovely words... Its just a wood and experiment will get you some opportunities in design that are not seen before or as common.... So just don't think about those if happens and go with the flow... I think its correct saying😅
Thank you for supporting my work
Thank you for suggestion, I just upload a live edge bowl video, dimentions are 200mm diameter and almost 150mm deep so that could be interesting to you.... I'll see if other agree for fan based project suggestions 😀
Hi Tomi. Nice platter. Just wondering about the thinking behind cutting the hexagonal shape before turning? Seems to make thinks hard for yourself with those 'ghosting' corners? Like turning a square edge bowl..x
I spoke too soon! Your logic was revealed later in the video. Apologies...I'm just a mere mortal....🤣
😂that is ok John, I usually don't find problem turning air when you have corners, a bit more work ....
Thank you very much for watching 😀
If you had to do it again, would you leave shaping the hexagon until the end? I see advantages to both.
I think both ways work, I find it easier to have that shape already and I don't mind turning air and corners so for me works this way better.... But again what works easier and more comfortble for you..😉
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturningWhen I am cutting air, I come in from the outside in to prevent chipping. You were successful the opposite way. What can I do differently?
@@kenvasko2285 I do to go from outside on live edge bowls but here its more of the cove and its ok to go the regular way
Neat. Might a segmented turn be next in all of your futures?
Not for me if I can avoid it.
@@RichardRaffanwoodturning I’ve now completed project 5 and yep, it takes a different patience level but it can be very rewarding results. Enjoy.
I'm not in segmented either and don't have table saw or miter saw for nice accurate cuts, so it will be big investment for me ,but who knows one day maybe 😉
Great project just so people know I have been unsubscribed by UA-cam three months in a row
Sorry to hear that Lorrie, not sure why that happens, but I'm gratefull you subscribed again☺️
