I believe that we all label to some degree based on our experiences. I find that preconceived notions about people are perpetuated by ignorance. Most often, when we take the time to learn and understand one another we can remove labels and get to know one another for the human beings that we are. I had the pleasure of meeting you just a day before viewing this video, and I find it just another reason to add to your AWESOMENESS. Thank you for all of the work that you do, to evoke change in others, and most importantly, YOURSELF! Amazing job!

This talk is also about how we do not treat all humans as humans. We are all more than our worst mistake. Many of these comments do not recognize what addiction is and that just stopping is easier said than done. She never says she wants to forget what she did and admits she was at fault, the point is why can't we treat people who were previously incarcerated as humans and when they are out of the system we do not do anything for them to help them become functioning members of society. The negative comments here speaks to narrow-mindedness and from a standpoint of privilege and proves her point even more.

Has a felony because of 3 DUI's that is 3 chances to get it together. She could have killed someone in those situations. It is great her family is well off and now she can go to UT and still get all of her schooling paid for. She is trying to change the narrative so that she can feel good and accepted in society despite being a not so great person. Must be great to be this privilege, commit a crime that has the potential to hurt someone and has no real consequences besides a little stint in jail and a label which she is trying to do away with. How about face the consequences for your actions. The label shows people that you are irresponsible, it is a liability when you could get drunk before work and crash through an office building killing people. I believe people can redeem themselves but what she is trying to do is forget it ever happened and make what she did OK
