Varley Rebuilds is this a car you intend to keep or will you sell it on? I just got my self a similar Freelander and watched your Android screen video before doing the same install. It’s good but it still seems to close down the apps when I shut down the car.
Why have I only just seen this and why doesn't every landrover come standed with a black roof liner, this is mint if ya ever get a price in mind to do this get intouch I'd pay for this doing looks mega
Looks really nice, great vids. Thanks for taking the time to show the process. Did you find out what caused the condensation problem in the roof btw? keep the vids coming. I have the timing belt and service pack to do so will be checking back at your other vids.
It was the centre brake light, removed and sealed back up, nothing major. Plus standing for months doesnt help, next video is replacing clutch and flywheel, stipped already just waiting for parts.....thats a killer on your back! Cheers for the comments, much appreciated.
No I didn't wash it before, I wiped it but thats about it, roof liner has turned out great, the handles are ok, but the points where the plastic moves, and the screw cover part that bends when actually locked down have started to crack the paint.
Not to sure to be honest, my brother has it now, no complaints tho, the only bits that would be an issue are the seatbelt bits that slide up and down, the bit the seatbelt rubs on the B post, and the hook for the sun visors.
For something like this an electric paint sprayer would of been useful, however i'm looking to get a about 300k subscribers, a garage, a compressor, and paint guns to begin with, im nearly there, just not yet. :)
How did the dye dry ?? I have used a different type of dye on my car carpet and you can rub your hand across it and residue will come off !! Does the autobrite product have the same issue ??
The dye is ace, doesnt rub off when touching it, carpets may be different but for my roof liner its mint, i've seen some in a spray can and people have said it wasnt that good, but the autobrite stuff is spot on.
The dye I have used is buy a company called azure and it has been out in the sun a good few days. I can wash it out with a scrubbing brush and a hose so I don’t think it has soaked into the carpet fibres very well. Hoping the autobrite will be much better
Light interior cars always sell like hot cakes because that's what private buyers want, whereas new car/fleet buyers want dark interiors because they dont show the dirt when sold on. Therefore, I'm not sure why you would intentionally spend money devaluing a car by turning a light interior dark, but good video nonetheless.
Good points, I just prefer black interior, if it was a really expensive vehicle I may of decided against it, but this is just something to have fun with.
Looks really good, great result, glad you sorted the leak.
Thank you for the comments, it does come out pretty good, I am pleased with the final result.

Did you take the fabric off that is on the bord before you dyed it
Nope, dyed it while i was on the backing.
Great job mate looks really good. How much of the dye did you need to do the job.......I’m looking at doing mine and wondered how much I would need!
I used 3 bottles of the Autobrite fabric dye.
Varley Rebuilds thanks mate!!
Awesome Video!! Questions: Did you wash your roofline before dying it? What primer and spray paint did you use? And how are the handles now?

Varley Rebuilds Good to know!! Thank you for the reply 🙌🏼 i would say it might be a good idea to make a video with how it looks after few months 😁
@@reziistance4219 i would, but i sold it to my brother, but i did do the same on my 350z, so I could do it on that at the end of its build.
Hi mate, the results look good. How have the trims held up over the past year, any fading or patches? I’m considering doing the same. Cheers

@@VarleyRebuilds ah ok fair enough. Good vid though! 👌🏾
Thank you
Looks good Matt. Have you looked at getting an Electric Paint sprayer?

Thanks for the reply mate, I’m having to wash all the old dye out of my carpets at the moment !! Will be ordering some autobrite !!
@@ashoncars9435 not sure how that will turn out, may end up patchy, how long did you leave it to dry?

Hi mate, I’m about to do my Mondeo Mk3 roof liner with the autobrite dye. Yours looks good! How many bottles did you need?
I used 3 for my roof lining.
For interior trims did you use Matt or gloss
I used matt, I dont think gloss would look right.
how many bottles did you use
I think i used 4, but I did it outside and it wasnt landing 100% on the roof lining.
you using a liquid dye or powdered dye mixed with water?
Im using liquid fabric dye.
