Agree with all the comments. Glen I had no problem with either way, poor Sid should never have been in the band, Lydon was to egotistical and still is, seen him slag some people who had careers well in excess of what he achieved, he has to have an opinion on everything, he should stick to butter adverts and the eurovision, that was cringe worthy his attempt to represent Ireland. The two lads....love them, what you see is what you get, Jonesys jukebox legend.

not true though. It was Matlock and Rotten really. It was Matlock that got that sound with lots of overdubbing of the same lines. Cook is not a bad drummer and had his moment but I don't think they are the backbone. They were great mates, like something out of Fagin's gang....

@@Pulsonar No, it's a reference to how a seminal moment in entertainment history like the release of Blade Runner which seems like far, far in the past but even that was not going to happen until five years after this interview was aired. It's a way of appreciating just how long ago this was even though it looks quite modern.

@@NewsRedial I appreciate what you mean, I tend to think of time and it’s passing along those lines too. I was only a kid but remember the interview with these new punksters well. You could say the same thing about Star Wars, Third Encounters..., or even Jaws, not eclectic as the more cerebral and spell binding Blade-runner, but ancient 70s sci-fi movie classics that were still about a year from release at the time of this notorious TV interview.

Paul never seemed to have the same ego problems like Steve and Johnny. And never seemed out of his mind on drugs or alcohol either.
Would love for him to write his memoirs, I think he saw things more clear and "as" they were.

I doubt this was aired word for word in 1977, the music show Countdown was in a 5.30pm or 6.00pm timeslot. The ABC1 ident in the bottom right corner is a more modern one, this would definitely go uncensored when shown on a late night music show like "Rage"
