Pens and Stuff - ASMR Sleep Aid

- Relax as tinker with some fountain pens, a toy car, and a Blackberry cell phone.
My videos are best enjoyed using headphones or earbuds.
The videos on my UA-cam channel portray some of the typical day-to-day activities that I do for relaxation. This video was produced with relaxation in mind and hopefully has some ASMR qualities. Too much stress is harmful to your well-being and in today’s fast-paced world, stress management is more important than ever, and so I hope this ASMR video acts as a stress reliever for those watching and a sleep-aid for anyone having a difficult time falling asleep.

It’s worthwhile to note that the capitalization of sun, moon, and earth changes as we move from a terrestrial to a cosmological view. Others have stated that they should capitalized when spoken of in the same sentence, but this is not strictly true. For example:
I felt the earth beneath my feet as I dreamt of the sun, gazing at the moon.
Everything is taking place here from the terrestrial vantage point, and we are speaking of these heavenly bodies in their strictly human perspective. Now, for comparison:
The Earth is a spinning ball that circles the Sun and is circled by the Moon.
We’ve moved in our mind here from
a terrestrial view to a cosmological view, as if we were a disembodied entity viewing the Earth, Sun, and Moon from space.
Interesting to think about, and a handy way to determine whether these three proper names should capitalized. Also, it’s important to note that earth, sun and moon might be used as a generalization for similar celestial bodies, for example:
Our Earth is one of many earths, our Sun one of many suns, our Moon one of many moons.

My Uncle left me a car to restore, I don’t really love it, but it was his before he passed. It’s a 73 Impala with a 350, it’s not the original engine however. It needs a lot of work considering it’s been sitting since the early 90’s.

I recently had to use my non-dominant left hand to write out a list while my cat was sleeping on my other arm (she's 17 and a fluffy little sack of bones, so I was not going to disturb her). I was sitting at a weird angle and had to keep contact between the pen and paper, and wrote entirely in cursive (normal right hand writing is a hybrid of print and cursive). The handwriting looked so much like my late (left-handed) grandmother's, it was eerie. At the time, it made me incredibly sad to think that I won't get any more of her little notes and cards. Anyway, your left-handed cursive looked a little bit like that, and it made me smile, thinking of my grandma and what a remarkable woman she was. :-)
(Strangely enough, my left-hand list writing was much more legible than my right-hand scrawls tend to be.)

Yes that is my little heart dog, Bagel, who has been in dog heaven for 3 years now. She was a Chihuahua-Corgi mix, but she does resemble your Shiba Inu in that pic.

I would just like to say I absolutely love your pen and penmanship videos, you have been my inspiration for actually actively trying to fix my handwriting and learn correct cursive. Ever since I was in primary (elementary) school I have struggled with it. My teachers would constantly berate me for it, give me all sorts of bizarre looking pens and pencils that were designed to help improve your writing, all to no effect. Now in my mid 30's and it has gotten even worse over the course of the last twelve or so years thanks to working in IT and only touching a pen to scribble the most crude of Post-It notes to leave for myself or my colleagues. I'd like to buy myself a nice pen & work on getting my handwriting to the point where it makes it worthwhile. Been looking at the Klarus Kustoms items (I have a mild fetish for anything copper...). Would you recommend a fountain pen or a regular ballpoint to practice with? Anyway, enough of this epic level ramble, keep up the amazing work with your channel, you're a treasure. ^_^
Pick yourself up a Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen. My local Staples carries them. They cost about $10.

Here is a collection idea, I have spent the last five years finding the first 75 matchbox models, some I have had to restore, most of them to be honest. There are loads of videos how to do this.

I miss the basic functionality and the light weight of the Blackberry, but don't think I'd get by without the apps and great camera of my iPhone.

I somewhat agree with you on that one but I think it’s hard to compare them to each other. I go for ephemeral when I want to watch something a little bit more interactive. I come her to This guy when I just want to hang out because I feel like this guy’s more like hanging out with your grandfather and listening to his stories which I really like.

I don't have any photos of the actual races, just the memories.
It will be interesting to see if my ASMR is the same. I have gotten ASMR since I was a kid, 10-12 years old. I'm 35 now. I just had turbinate reduction surgery and deviated septum (broken nose either from birth or an unknown childhood injury, basically) surgery and I'll recover from that within another week and a half or so. It was causing issues with my breathing through my nose at night, basically causing sleep apnea. That sleep apnea may have been magnifying my ASMR experience. Time will tell.

MsKatie200 I had an iPhone 8 just recently. It worked for 12 whole hours. Then... It locked me out forever. Permanently. And I have no computer that runs iTunes so there's no way to unlock it. Apple technology has never worked for me or my family.

I really wish I could write cursive, but they didn't really teach it in school. Now when I try to write something in cursive, it looks like I had a stroke.

Don't wish it, try it. And then try it again. And again. And again. You'll get the hang of it eventually as practice will make perfect, though I don't think it's a skill anyone needs to have for anything nowadays, it's still neat if you're able to do it and love writing.
Unless you have dyspraxia, in which case it's always going to look like you are a 6 year old writing :P
