The thing with Black Spec questions is that the same amount of explaining is going into these CE questions as if we didn't know what the topic was, even though it was well covered in PjM and PcM. Not a huge fan. Definitely a fan of practice questions, though, so thanks.
Sorry, I meant Schedule of Values is misdefined in question 3. What talked about is bid alternates. Schedule of values is a schedule from the contractor that defines the portions of the contract sum.
I really don't see how making a comment about a safety rail in one location makes you responsible for safety on the whole site. If you follow that line of thinking, if the Contractor says "I don't like this aesthetic and it should be designed differently" does that mean they are " taking over the design intent and are now responsible for all of the design decisions on the project?

Susan Mussett yes I was thinking that was the case. Glad to see someone else said it in the comments.
Definitely, the explanation in question 3 for schedule of values in wrong. Mike is explaining alternates or unit price, but not schedule of values
Question 2 - I'm pretty sure retainage is quite different from "retainer." Just FYI.
I’m pretty sure statement of values is misdefined in question 2.
