Dude I actually learn so much from your side comments on stylistic choices, software/website features, and general editing principles. Love this style of video, keep it up! :D
I just want to say. I found you through your cinematic audio on a budget video because audio is my least favorite part of editing and shooting. But after looking around your channel, you got yourself a new subscriber. You're amazing man, keep up the good work.
I feel like if you made films during the Millennial high school miniDV era, it was a rule to have the worst sound possible XD Now I'm wondering how much better our early stuff would've been with tools like these! Thanks for another SSC banger
I really enjoyed this video. Your delivery and skills are ungodly. Please continue on making such videos, editing old footages etc. I really learned a lot from this video!
I really enjoyed this one! I often do this when I haven't got any projects going. Sometimes I do this on my old shorts and other times I'll try and make a really old film seem new using sound design and faster cutting. You definitely need to make more of these.
This was so good! Great information, and a great result highlighting the value of Editing and Sound Design! No excuse not to get out and create something cool, regardless of what camera you have 😃
I thought you were older and perhaps rocking the digital 8 and VHS-C tapes! Lucky you! Dubbing VHS-C tapes are the bane of my existence as they sometimes contain audio/video drift due to incorrect timeclock and dropped frames and I have to manually resync the video and audio every few minutes to have it match. This is much harder than it seems to sync and I loathe finishing my tub of tapes! But I'll get it done...eventually. If anyone knows of a way to correct or fix this please let me know!
Good job on the recut. Apparently UA-cam isn't notifying me about your new vids even though I am subscribed; this is the first thing I have seen from you in a while.
Yes! I found that Adobe AI before my documentary and I think it saved the whole project. I'm glad to see people explore the beneficial side of productivity AI.
Tje use of AI as a tool to speed up productivity and workload has been around for quite a while now, so it's important people distinguish betweem the simple AI tools and using AI to solely produce an image or audio. I'm everyday thankful for the ai tool that tracks and blurs a face for me, I would go crazy doing it frame by frame
This video has inspired me to go dig up a similar short film a group of friends & I created to see if I can improve it as a way to practice my editing. Thanks!
Thank you so much! So knowlageable, and so much insight into the work sound design does for a film. I'm definitely using that Krotos Studio for my project that I'm working on right now.
Wait. So, he re-edited a film he edited around a decade before this, and then he edited this video about the film he re-edited, so we could easily watch this. Huh.
Interesting idea and nicely carried out, you might want to run a deEsser over your mic audio though - That may be my issue though, my hearing is really sensitive to those frequencies.
when I learned how to edit I took this challange myself :D result: it's been at 2 festivals, reached semi final in 1 of them, and are going to few more. It's worth it guys, a new look at your old work will give you some good experience😁
I had an idea for a movie like this. You can’t leave your door ajar for ANY amount of time or “something” gets in and you have to leave before it kills you.
I love this idea so much. I am still thinking about try edit the film I shot 3 months ago. So curious to see how much you can save a naive film with editing.
I think the music should’ve suddenly cut when the door shut and the rocking chair should’ve been just that shot with ambient noise in the background but other than that it’s great
love the video, and I think it would be great to show my high-school video editing class. However, with the language and drinking beer, I don't think it's appropriate for a classroom.. If you have PG version of content like this, I think it would be great to use as examples in my classes!
No wonder you're a professional editor, this is 100% your best talent, very well edited! 💙
Dude I actually learn so much from your side comments on stylistic choices, software/website features, and general editing principles. Love this style of video, keep it up! :D
why was that actually scary lmao great work
Kent I love your editing videos, it's insane how much value you're giving us for free. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Sound design is always my number 1 priority because like you said, it does really double up a production.
I'm slowly learning to love sound design, so this was pretty inspiring.
This is a dope exercise. If it makes sense to do more, please do more.
This was so informative. What a difference a proper edit makes on the feel of a video. Learned a lot. Thank you
Wow! Krotos Studio sounds absolutely insane!! I'll have to try it out. Awesome sound design stuff :)
Love these videos!
Brilliant. Love your stuff!
Right onnn fam! Thoroughly enjoyed your commentary along the way. 🤘🏼💪🏼
Excellent example of how important sound design is!!! Great ad for Artlist, too! Thanks!
When MiniDV arrived it was an EPIC step up in quality albeit the joys of dealing with interlaced video.
I just want to say. I found you through your cinematic audio on a budget video because audio is my least favorite part of editing and shooting. But after looking around your channel, you got yourself a new subscriber. You're amazing man, keep up the good work.
This video helped me so much. I recut my second public short film and it was selected by 4 film festivals
Not experienced in film etc. but it's obvious you have your act together. It's a pleasure seeing your work.
Worth the watch
That was fun, seeing how you work with your editing process
I'm so glad I found your channel, it has been my best discovery in 2023. Thanks a lot for showing us your talent! 🎉
I feel like if you made films during the Millennial high school miniDV era, it was a rule to have the worst sound possible XD
Now I'm wondering how much better our early stuff would've been with tools like these! Thanks for another SSC banger
Love this edit of you editing an old edit you were un happy with. Editception...
I really enjoyed this video. Your delivery and skills are ungodly. Please continue on making such videos, editing old footages etc. I really learned a lot from this video!

Showing that shadow first before we see you at 15:29 was actually genius 😅
I’m amazed your tapes still work! Mine have all kinds of issues and errors
Oh my goodness ... that power on sound! Been a minute. 😅
This was so good! Great information, and a great result highlighting the value of Editing and Sound Design! No excuse not to get out and create something cool, regardless of what camera you have 😃
Amazing video, the audio sounds like something from an early 2000s horror game lol I love it
Love this project! So fun to see how you play with the footage and editing 👍
I thought you were older and perhaps rocking the digital 8 and VHS-C tapes! Lucky you!

awesome video, thank you
Good job on the recut. Apparently UA-cam isn't notifying me about your new vids even though I am subscribed; this is the first thing I have seen from you in a while.
This was one of the coolest videos I've seen on UA-cam!

Love this series man, learn a lot from these.. Subbed
Nice upgrade, plus cool story in the short film, which stands the test of time!
Loved this idea and the result is very nice!
Just goes to show better resolution doesn't mean a better film/video
This video has inspired me to go dig up a similar short film a group of friends & I created to see if I can improve it as a way to practice my editing. Thanks!
Great job!!! I have a lot to learn 😅
that's a refreshing video !! different from all i saw last time , thank you 😉
This was so good, such a good idea - love your style and humour. Inspiring as always, thank you. From the UK 👍
That was awesome, could you do more of these please!

wow those tools are amazing. So is the final edit
This makes me want to look for my old MiniDV stuff
Just came across your channel, I think you are my new man crush, these videos are awesome.
I like it! One thing I would've added is a side shot of the car to bridge the two car shots together.
Tons on information shared. Love it.
You can use Resolve to make the colours pop a bit more and enhance the lighting
Please do more of these😢😢😢
This was a good informative video. Please make a video on which editor you use.
Great idea to remaster that little film. Did you end up adding more Foley, like footsteps and stuff?
Dude, love your 'unintrested' vibe.
Great video man
Great job!!
I got goosebumps 💀
Amazing work
Amazing work. Can I ask why you didn’t color correct the footage at all?
Artlist is great.
Interesting idea and nicely carried out, you might want to run a deEsser over your mic audio though - That may be my issue though, my hearing is really sensitive to those frequencies.
NIce one thanks for the software which i am going to download and try on my old videos that i have created :)
when I learned how to edit I took this challange myself :D result: it's been at 2 festivals, reached semi final in 1 of them, and are going to few more. It's worth it guys, a new look at your old work will give you some good experience😁
Great video idea!
Legend.
I had an idea for a movie like this. You can’t leave your door ajar for ANY amount of time or “something” gets in and you have to leave before it kills you.
this was amazing
Is adobe premiere a good video editor? This video made me want to use it
I love this idea so much. I am still thinking about try edit the film I shot 3 months ago. So curious to see how much you can save a naive film with editing.

Any chance you can make a video on how you created your production business?
damn sfx adds a lot more detail into the video
We need a video where you react to all your old films lol
God, I love these videos

Great sound design can cover up the bad footage.
As a European, I laughed at the jar joke, lmao the delivery haha
Daniel Day Who?

No color grade?
From editor to director possible?
Great
I remeber hearing you talk about a 100% free script writing software but can't find the video. Am I misremebering?
Do you know any AI tool or something else that can improve very overexposed footage? In Premiere Pro nothing works
12:34 was this a sound effect lol @12:34

Very informative, thank you for talking your way through your editing process. I will subscribe to your channel if you stop drinking on camera.
