  • This final episode in this series of my Blue Water Sailing Adventure starts off with a hangover as we set sail north back to Fort Lauderdale. We enjoyed the day sailing, chilling, relaxing, and studying. The team took turns at helm and the wind worked out in our favor.
We were racing our sister boat Gitana from Blue Water Sailing, they gave us a head start as they are a monohull with a 51' water line. The day could not have been nicer, the only regret was that it was our last day on the water.
After filling up with diesel we slowly worked our way up the intercoastal to About TIme's resting place. We docked, cleaned the boat, tossed the trash, and studied a bit before heading to dinner close by.
The next morning we proceeded to review for our final ASA 114 Cruising Catamaran course and finished with our test. I headed over to take one final test for Coastal Navigation and man was it hard one. Captain and I had one last shot of rum before I took off back to the mountains.
Thank you Tom, Irene, and Kim for an amazing trip- you guys made the class better than I could have imagined and I hope our paths cross again one day on the water!!
Lastly, Thank You Captain Keith!! You were the teacher I needed and man did you know your stuff. Guess that's why you got ASA Sailing captain of the year!! Love you buddy, Thanks for the amazing education and for teaching me a little something about Barbeque in the process.
