@@UrMom-it7gj Oh cool, these were literally the first models I bought as a kid in that "That looks cool!" mindset, painted them badly and they sit in a box now with the square bases.
I'd happily mail them to a good home, and it would be so amazing to have them on the channel!

This type of countertop blind style set was crafted specifically for the Japanese market. Gundam Converge and similar lines are super popular there.

Inquisitor team is going to use conscripted forces to fill out the team (Breachers, Arbiters, Sisters of Silence, Scions, Vet Guard or Kasrkin) so it will have probably 11-12 models depending on what those numbers are.
Sisters of Silence aren’t conscripted tho…

@@xxklesx1 the Custodes and Primarchs don’t answer to the Inquisition. They are above them. One being the Emperor’s sons and the other being his friends and eternal bodyguard.
If next season of KillTeam is fighting in jungle weirdness, I don’t see how they CAN’T makes a KillTeam out of Gaunt’s Ghosts … “we only needed to wait a couple years” seems a common thread in 40k/KT.
I sold mine because i bet on that too, but they would need to add others models to them, and teams with too many sprue become narrative sets as we see in Ashes of Faith
I'd prefer a refresh of the catachan squad so we don't have to see "that" head anymore and an actual decent avenue for more guard units that aren't cadian
Also bonus points you can slap in catachan devils for nids
@@egnaroelprup I'd be very surprised if there'd be no new Catachans for the new KT jungle season. Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Exodites at some point.
I thought in lore, the retinue does much of the grunt work, and the inquisitor leading them only make an appearance to perform the grand reveal or if the situation requires them to be present to enact judgment on a course of action.
Yeah, realistically, when up against the Inquisition, you'll encounter Inquisitorial servants primarily instead of Inquisitors
Exactly, Inquisitors are often doing higher-level stuff! And this box has an Interrogator, the person that an inquisitor would trust to lead a team like this
As someone who got into 40k via Dark Heresy (ttrpg) the Inquistorial team is exactly what I envision, and yes, I've read the Eisenhorn novels. Inquisitors do entrust Interrogators to lead the team and then come in towards the end, for the most part.
In the past, to get EVERY unit in the SMHeroes “blind box” set - you had to buy the entire display set. It’s a box that has between 6-8 other boxes inside. It’s only “blind” if you buy one box from that display box that’s already been opened. I’ve done this with the terminator series and the deathguard series. The actual SpaceMarine series (the previous and recent release) are all models from the Barnes n’ Noble SpaceMarine Adventures game board - so you might be able to pick them all up cheaper there - or if you already own it (and both expansions) then you can skip this series altogether.

I think that only started with series 3 of heroes. I bought an entire box of series 1 and 2 and did not get every mini.
I was sold when you said you are planning an Adeptus Mechanicus killteam. Heavy conversions are an icing on the mechanical cake!

I actually love the Heroes killteam. It's a perfect team for a new player. It's just 7 models, they pick 6 for the game abs bam! Game started. Not like my 20 model intercessor team covering literally every option I could have and then choosing 6.
I think the artificial scarcity thing is because warehousing costs GW money, and if everybody knows you can only the thing on release - everybody gets the thing on release and it sells out. Certainly a lot of people would wishlist a box and buy it whenever if they expected it to stay available for a while after release - and each day you don't buy it costs storage
Commercial warehouse space is not particularly expensive, this stuff is easier and cheaper to store than commodities like corn.
Interesting to see that it isn't called Space marine heroes anymore but Warhammer heroes instead, I really hope that that means that we will also get models for other factions in the future. Would also be great if they added Terminstors to KT, I'd love to use the ones from SM heroes 2.

After doing your base wash of oils on light primer, and then wiping it off.
Thin Oil paint covers thick, but if you're trying to paint on top of a surface you've already blended, it only needs to be slightly thinner than the oil paint currently on the model.
A way to get that coverage is to let the model sit long enough for the white spirits that are on the model to evaporate, and then use your newly thinned paint on your brush to do whatever you're trying to do.
Another thing is that Oil paints when applied can look bumpy. But that's usually excess thinner creating texture. If you let it sit, and evaporate, The paints will flatten out. (Always thin your paints when doing brush work that isn't with a filbert style brush.)
This phenomenon is something not many Oil painters deal with because they work on canvas. But we work on hard plastic that doesn't have texture or porous surfaces for excess thinner to run into.

Best thing about oils is wet blending. Because the paint stays wet for so long. You can alternatively try additives to acrylic to make them act like oils. However oils had the most amazing silky butter texture when using them

These single blind boxes i enjoy them. With the $13 one out at the moment because it's something easy my kids can put together one and paint it. This box can provide me single models to create characters in my Crimson Raptors army

I plan to build the Interrogator, Pistoleer, Mystic and Death World Veteran when I get my hand on the box set.Hive Scum would work for the Penal Legionnaire (Probably can make additional as cannon fodders), Cawdor Redemptionists would work for Hexorcist and Questkeeper. Missionary Zelot would probably be perfect for The Questkeeper as well if you ignore the flamethrower. and Enlighter could be proxied from any of the Delaque
I am glad there is another way to get more space marine sculpts. We do not have quite enough space marine sculpts.

Abteilung 502 oil paints dry faster than regular artist paints, I think. It's funny, though. I see people say that paints don't necessarily matter but all of the top teir painters have massive paint collections. I don't know. It makes me want to try them all.

I'd love to see a video about the arbities! Specifically, it would be cool to see an attempt at a different color scheme for them as I've only seen black.
I love making personality in my kill teams even giving each member names so this warhammer heros set really allows me to make personalized marines 😊

I used the helmetless heads for the machine gun guy and the flail dude, but I have all the others
The manager at my local warhammer store when they were doing to mystery pins he had up like a trade/"if you didnt get what you want" board where we just swapped our pins for the one we want. I feel like other store managers should do something like that

You might try acrylic base coating then using your oils as filters.

Use a real inquisitor as the inquisitor or rogue traders from the blackstone fortress. Inquisitors often use rogue traders as cover stories as they can also move freely and have authority and resources

I really don’t know much about oil painting for minis but I would guess you would need to do a varnish coat after the oil dries fully. Then start adding regular paint after the varnish is fully dried as well. But like I said I don’t know much about oil mini painting. Is it technically the same thing as regular oil paints that go on canvas? I’m almost certain it’s not!?!
I’m assuming the captain is the “chase” model And won’t be in kill team as his load out isn’t kill team legal. The squad reminds me of a primaris version of a tactical squad, regular 6 man team with 2 specialists for the sniper and heavy gunner.

Regarding oils… try placing some paint on an already painted surface exactly where you want your highlight to be and then smudge it with a clean, dry brush. That such a cool way of highlighting with oils.
You can take the Cawdor Redemptors box for In KT...
The thing with the killteam is that it's marines, you can kitbash it all pretty easily, hell an intercessor box and some bits will get you most of the team, could probably make at least reasonable proxies for the heavy and sniper from an intercessor.
I would love to see mechanicum because they don’t get that much love followed by the arbites so I can have energy and inspiration to paint mine

Could you show us your series 3 deathguard models?
It's easy. For your kill team, you choose 6 out of the 7 characters. You can only give 1 leadership to either Captain Justian or to Sergeant Marius. If you chose Capt. Justian with leadership, you can still use Sgt.Marius as a member of your team and select 4 more from the rest. Or you can take out Cpt.Justian or Sgt. Marius, and incorporate the other 5 characters. As long as you only use 6 characters, it's all good.

my hope for the inquisitor box when it gets a stand alone release is instead of including the conscript forces it just includes another sprue of the inquisitors to make all the options
The Necromunda Hive Scum box is what I built my current Inquisitor retinue from. Good idea there.

How about the Blackstone fortress models for your inquisition team?
The Inquisitor RPG from a while ago, your characters were basically these guys. The head-honcho Inquisitor you worked for was a background character.
They said at the reveal that if you buy a complete box of the SM killteam you get all the operators plus one extra.
I think a short vid on how the narrative games go, sort of a tactical breakdown would be cool. Also tell the story you create as you play the matches

Pretty sure the warcom article for the inquisition killteam said there is no inquisitor because YOU the player are the Inquisitor sending out your retinue. Also you are supposed to round out the killteam with guardsman or scions for a larger killteam. Also stated in the article.

The artificial scarcity argument is that they create demand that wouldnt necessarily be there to begin with, not that they create additional price that wouodnt be there to begin with.
The idea is that if people feel like right now is the only time they will be able to buy something for a fair price, they will buy it right then and there. Where ordinarily they might have waited, knowing that they would always be able to buy at a later date and ultimately not actually end up buying it.
I saw you at Adepticon, even accidentally wandered through your shoots a couple times i think. 😂 Didn't realize you were that in to kill team as i didnt see you playing in any of the events. Even if you dont want to do the GT or teams you should sign up for pods next year at least so i can try to get a game in!
Build your blooded dude, they’re awesome sculpts and play really fun, straightforward, but still tactically challenging
What about using some AoS models as the doaner bodies for the inquisition kill team?
Normally for kanvas oil painting, the recommended time to varnish is from 6 months to a year
i tired buying some necromunda for a kitbash care, they minis seem to be a tiny bit smaller to the other ranges at least I Frond the "Escher Death-maidens and Wyld Runners" very small.
Is the heroes box a good way to dip my toe into killteam? Been wanting to paint a space marine for a while (only play bloodbowl and am starting with warcry). Or would you recommend something else for a space marines beginner?
GW should do the random buy mini option like they have with the space marine kill team for everything.
Each preconstructed killteam has like 3/5ths of all the models you have an option for in that kill team. Then a random buy that is one of the rest of the 2/5ths.
tyrranid kill team: new edition coming out with nids so good opportunity to make something with them. + retro models are fun!
12:50 my lgs has space marines heroes s1 and what they do is you can buy the singles or buy the whole box so how every they logistic it I think that's what other stores will do

already got a few Inquisitors (old metal ones), also got the Imperial agent combat patrol and planning to get a few of the Judge dread teams :D
but this will be for 40k :D
it seems that we will be able to play with Imperial agents in 10th, but other wise they will just be with my SM.
Re: the Blind Box Kill Team -- I believe (but I'm not 100% here) that you get one of each model in every store display box, so if you buy a full display box, you'll have the full team + extra copies of some models

For the kill team, what if its you get 6 'points', where intercessors cost 1, and captain/eliminator/sniper each cost 2
HEY! Don't use acetone to strip models, use 99% isopropyl alcohol, instead. It works better in my experience (even on metal!) and it won't hurt your plastic bases.
Those ships turned out really nice.
I think combining the star striders and the new inquisition force is the easiest way to achieve a more lore-esc retinue

What do you think about using Blackstone Fortress characters as replacements for Ashes of Faith boring sculpts?
I'd recommend not going with the electropriests.The electoos are molded into the model and are very prominent despite what online pictures will have you believe.

in defence of the inquisitorial guys not coming with an inquisitor, I guess it's so you are free to pick your own one. Plenty of inquisitors have lower level agents and acolytes off on missions without them.
I want the Inquisition box so bad! Inquisitor Erasmus will have his own retinue :))
For the inquisitors... Just get Eisenhorn or just a box and call that Ravenor?

The powerfist plasma captan is the best. Because it means my Store Captain will keep getting rules.
You pretty much got the reason why few adeptus mechanicus players have the GW electro priests right, they don't fit in well with the rest of the army and they have to much flesh (ewww) although people kitbash their own custom ones, for example I've seen somebody use the necromunda ash wastes gang models with adeptus mechanicus heads and electro priest weapons to make a proxy.
You can add another fireteam to support the inquisitor killteam, like sister of silence or scion, also included jn this box
