I think David’s worst writing mistake was having Hubris die. Pythus already beat Hubris’ superior with two prime songs plus the aid of Senn, so it’s proven Pythus is very powerful, while Hubris’ death contributed nothing to the story or epilogue, as his death mixes in with everyone else’s.
Definitely, it felt out of place and was overshadowed by Deathsinger’s death only minutes later. I also think Hubris should’ve been the KoA captain, maybe his death would’ve had more impact if that was the case
@@CK-Voltaris given David’s failure to make Ria a good captain, certainly, although I think with better writing Ria could’ve been a better candidate, or giving Hubris a characteristic that would make him unfit for captain (too aggressive, being an awful fighter or speaker, or maybe disillusionment on certain topics like politics.) Rather it’s Ria who’s reckless, Hubris was the voice for the Knights of Ardonia in S1, and Hubris took the risk of trying to find the Prime Songs.
Ria could have actually been a compelling and well rounded character if she had a proper arc, specifically exploring her internal complexity rather than her external achievements. After we learn Sendaria was burnt down, viewers were left wondering if Ria was alive --- the problem was that this wasn't reflected through Senn's personal thoughts and character. He moved on, unfazed by the traumatic situation, making her reveal in season 2 feel lackluster and emotionless. If they were to be rewritten, I would add moments of vulnerability and flashbacks of Sendaria burning to make both her and Senn seem more empathetic regarding their shared trauma, whether it's through moments of solitude contemplation or conversations with each other. This would shift them from an apathic leader and a clueless sidelined protagonist to two complex characters with real emotional depth.
Overall I do like her character, I don't remember much, but now that you brought it up, her boost in ability is quite crazy considering she had the upper hand with Tygren
@@yes-sj3pd Ria is not really that good of a good guy if you look at her. She's the Rey of Songs of War too. She never mourned the deaths of KoA members.
Wouldnt say plot armor. I mean, 6 months passed between their last interactions. We just needed to see how much she trained Edit: Okay 7 months since my comment and I stand corrected. 100% plot armor.

This is why I prefer Senn, he atleast had a story arc (very subtle, but he is not the same rebellious kid from the beginning)

Bad written? Yes
Plot Armored? No(she still beaten by Pythus and Ingressus)
I really love these types of sow videos
Ria is literally just trying to be something she's not…
✨A true leader and a rip off Thalleous ✨
dont forget rip off tide singer by tryna unite the world again 💀
I like ria as a character but I can't defend the way she was written 😭
"tidesinger-takes prime song from immature child"
"also tidesinger- gives prime song to another immature child"
💀💀💀
And dont forget, Tidesinger himself just grew out of the imature kid phase xD

Yeah, but learning without a teacher like Galleous and she starts winging Tygren down after 6 months is wild
@theblaze2294 Tbf though tygren has the personality of deathsinger wannabe so he would let his emotions control him constantly
