I only jumped onto Blizzard around 2016 with Overwatch, and it's been such a trip to learn the iconography and sounds of their older franchises (including this track) through Heroes of the Storm, and to *then* have classic Warcraft things brought back with further WoW expacs. No, I don't have the same memories of Warcraft 2, but god damn, I still got the CHILLS.
I played that game back on the PS1 🤣 didn't have an own PC though. And if I remember correctly in history class as a child during the same time I have drawn WC2 maps with human vs human units zo depict the battles and stuff we learned about. Fond memories indeed.
1:46 is so awesome. The music team somehow outdid themselves this time around. BFA had some good pieces but the overall soundtrack didn't impress me. So far, ALL of the Shadowlands music is top notch. Wonderful!

So glad I could find this! Did Exile's Reach for the first time last night, was blown away by the soundtrack! Despite being a lowly warrior with like 1-3 abilities max, I felt epic questing to this soundtrack.
OH MY GOD WARCRAFT 2 1995 ALL OVER AGAIN. It was also in "Echoes of the Past" in Burning Crusade Caverns of Time Old Hillsbrad as well as I think one of the loading screens in WC3 The Frozen Throne.
OMG one of the old Orcish theme from Warcraft 2, OMG!!! This new exile will make that new players love their adventures in Azeroth since the first moment, of course I'll miss the old start locations, however it's time that the game also evolves in order to bring new heroes to Azeroth.
I've got a really, really good feeling about this expansion. It's got me back into the game for the first time since Wrath. The gameplay feels more smooth and challenging than it has in nearly a decade, the lore is clicking, the callbacks to old lore is there, the aesthetics, the music, the community, it just feels GOOD.
I came back to wow after WOTLK. wanted to see what this new area was as first character. This music really brings you the "welcome back to wow, it's time for a new adventure" vibe
I'll never get people who fully commit to just one side especially now that we have different story beats to explore on both sides that complete the bigger picture. But hey.. you do you if that's your thing.
@@Thareldis true, for example I never stuck to playing alliance, however the new starter zone music for alliance made me play a worgen rogue and I am still verry happy with it, somewhere in draenor right now.
