Thank you, that just totally made up my mind after months of waffling on what new device to get. AWESOME!
Hi! I just came across this helpful video, but I have a question: do you use a screen protector for the ipad pro? Thanks!
Hey, I love it! one thing to make sure is that in the pencil settings you have the "edit selected paths" box checked... that took me way too long to figure out why I was just drawing new lines, in case anyone else had that problem. :|
This is awesome!!! Thanks so much for sharing! Just bought my iPad Pro and this changed my life :))))
I've always wondered if this was possible! You saved me hours!! THANK YOU
Love all your videos, thank you for sharing your insights and knowledge! I'm thinking of getting astropad to help clean up my lettering and I'm wondering if you have the Astropad Standard or the one for professionals?
How did you hook-up the keyboard to your iPad? I have an iPad but it doesn't have a USB port for connecting a keyboard. Thanks
Wow, this is amazing for some many reasons. Thanks you x
Excellent! I'm gonna buy Astropad - I practically live in illustrator and love my iPad/Pencil. Heading over to your channel...
Can you please tell me how you set your Pencil Tool options. I am able to add but when I draw with the pencil I can't subtract from the drawing and I seem to be creating a new object rather than editing the original.
I enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you very much
Thanks for this tutorial. The info on iPad communication with desktop is fairly limited out there, I will now purchase astropad, cheers.
the new illustrator will blow this out of the water
You are LITERALLY my new best friend! I bought the Astropad app last night after watching this video and it has already saved me a ton of time. Thanks for sharing!
Yay! I'm so glad you're enjoying it!
@@EveryTuesday is it compatible with windows? cus i have an I-pad and a windows computer.
Fabulous tutorial Teela!!! I can't wait for your FONT class. I'm very excited that you're putting that together. I've been wanting to learn how to vectorize my lettering. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us all!! :)
Do you have a watercolor floral or wreath class? I'm wanting to learn how to create a loose version not a realistic version of florals, botanicals, etc...
I just bought a graphic drawing tablet can I use it like this in photshop cc?
I love your videos. I want to trace my doodling using illustrator, iPad and the app you recommended. How would I trace my doodles?
I can't seem to use pressure sensitivity when using illustrator and astropad on ipad. The option in brush settings in greyed out. Do you know how to fix this?
So was that doodle created in procreate and imported to illustrator?
Super brilliant tutorial
this makes me want the ipad pro so much more than before. just... its so fast!!
amazing! thanks for the video
Only with iPad Pro or with the new iPad mini 5 and the iPad Air 3 too ¿?
One of the few reasons why I want a the large pro. Just waiting for the second version.
thanks what a great video, if i may share a tip you could use duet display app and plug (to the ipad) a lighting cable to diplayPort port (on you mac) to avoid the lag and have solid stable view !
Hey how to install photoshop, illustrator and indesign in my iPad?
is there any way to use it without astro pad?
This is so unbelievably helpful!! I bought the iPad Pro two days ago because of you, but I was bummed that you can't use Illustrator, etc. on it. This is great!! Thanks, Teela. :)
I'm so glad! You're going to love it! :)
what app did you use for?
This does not seem to work for me, it sometimes seems to edit the paths and sometimes creates a new path. What am I doing wrong? I have 'Keep selected', 'Close paths' and 'edit selected paths' all ticked in the settings. I am using a Wacom pen and tablet with an iMac, not an ipad but I'm assuming it should work the same?
Hello, how do I install Adobe Illustrator on my iPad pro?
Hey I have a question and I'm stuck. Once I v select the doodle and then N. I don't get the right pencil tool as yours. What am I doing wrong? Thank you
on the mac, click and hold. you will have a few more pencil like tools so if youre on a different on upon opening the program, the shortcut may be picking that one rather than the pencil itself. so then just click the pencil and you should get the default tool when you hit N
fantastic.
Thanks a lot
Hi, how are you getting the whole illustrator on the Pad, mine is just like a basic really basic illustrator, is it because of the keyboard?
Are you using the Astropad app mentioned in the video? The app is essentially a mirroring app, so you should see everything on your computer screen also displayed on your ipad
Heyy teela can I do this but withought using an Apple product? What other product would be good for this (that has a screen that I can paint on) that is not going to be more than 100$ (if any)?
I've only ever used Apple products for this method, so I'm afraid I'm not the right person to ask! I'd be shocked if there was one available for $100 or less, though.
Thank you! Really helpful video Teela...I'd never heard of that app. More tutorials using the iPad and Illustrator please :)
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Could you show me how to connect the ipad with procreate with AI. i cannot find the info of that connection. Thank you so much
Procreate is an iPad only application, so there isn't any connecting it with Ai. You can connect Astropad to Ai, but Procreate lives exclusively on your iPad. Photoshop would be the desktop equivalent.
Just FYI, it is only for Mac at this time. Hope this helps some people
if you want to be really pro designer you should definitely go to mac :)
Why?!
the fuck are you talking about haha :')
Can the Apple Pencil be used with a standard iPad if you have this app?
Nope, unfortunately the Apple Pencil is only compatible with the iPad Pro - there are other styluses that *are* compatible with older iPads though!
if you have a "old but not too old" ipad, i heard the adonit pixel stylus is the second best, its about $80.
A new cheaper iPad came out recently and it supports the pencil 😀
your voice is very soothing
I have a question: can you use the Ipad independently, with mouse+keyboard for Illustrator, without the pc?
Not currently unfortunately. The full Photoshop on an iPad is still in beta, and I'd assume once that's 'officially' released, they'll move on to making the full version of Illustrator for the iPad
@@EveryTuesday thank you =)
do you use astropod studio or standard?
Standard has been all I've ever needed :)
Did you first drew that doodle on paper and upload it, and then make it look better..?
I can't understand what the name of app? sorry my English is not so good
No problem! It's called AstroPad
Are you connected iPad to MacBook? How adobe illustrator on iPad have screen MacBook /laptop tools?
Watch the vid and check out the AstroPad app ;)
So here I am waaaay later, over a yr later. Do you still recommend this app? Do you subscribe $80 or just use the standard version?
I do! The standard version is all you need in my opinion - it's been perfect for everything I've needed it for :)
Does anyone know if this is windows compatible?
Raiylu I think only apple
🤘🏼
what Gb is your ipad
256
But the response time is very slow right..
I haven't had any issues!
this ipad , is pro ? thanks
ipad pro :)
astropad is now $30 :'(
Panning around / zooming looks super laggy..
The most recent update to the app eliminates the lag where it's unnoticeable now :)
is it working on Android and Windows??
pesonemma no. only apple
