hiya teela... I'm an old-school designer (since 1986) and I love that you're showing more than just the technical stuff... when I was starting out, I never had any reference for process. I read and read and read and eventually cobbled together a logical process for designing from scratch. Let's face it, there are a ton of videos out there that show the programs blah blah blah... but process is where it's at... good job. Totally jelly of your ipad.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it :) Yea, process is definitely different for everyone, but it can help so much, just seeing someone do something without everything cut out in the middle!

Thank you so much for posting this video! I'm a graphic designer that's wanted to branch out in to hand letting, and I am so thankful for the iPad Pro and the procreate app, which makes it 100x easier to digitize my work.

    Hi Teela!
I just wanted to say that I used to be really excited every Tuesday about your new tutorial, but I've been really disappointed the last month or so... I don't want to sound mean at all, I love your work and how you explain things, it's just that lately you've taken this different direction, really commercial, and I feel like you are selling me a product instead of helping me out learning Graphic Design.
I was very happy when I found your channel because you are someone with a really good taste and, also, a really good teacher... and that's something that you don't see much. This is why I hope we can enjoy more of those kind of tutorials.
Thanks a lot and have a nice day!!!

      Hey Masari!
Thanks so much for the feedback and my apologies if it's come across that way. I'm not affiliated with the app I use, or the apple products (I'm truly not trying to sell them, this is from a 'this is a cool thing you might like to know about' point of view only!) - it's an exciting new medium that's now available to designers and it's a fun connection between lettering (craft) and (digital) graphic design. I've had fun experimenting with the new opportunities it presents and I wanted to share what I've learned since it *is* so new. I still make a point of offering as much free value as I possibly can with each video; the small mention to a Skillshare class is the only thing I benefit from in any way - and now being self employed, it's crucial to me being able to make these every week.
We're headed back to traditional graphic design in Photoshop + Illustrator for at least the next month though :) I really appreciate you being here! Hope that all makes sense :)

Well said Teela and very respectful....you are such a fantastic teacher and we all really appreciate it! I am not a graphic designer as I've been out of school a long long time now and even I find this totally cool! If I was younger, graphic design would be my calling...no doubt about that!
Thanks for all that you share!

It makes complete sense... everything you said!
Of course I wil be here waiing for those Photoshop/Illustrator tutorials and supporting you on Skillshare too!
      :)

The Ipad is amazing, now I kinda regret buying my graphic tablet because work in the same screen that you visualise the result must be so much more comfortable. It's a pity that not everyone (including me) can afford buy an ipad, but i will definitely buy one in a few years.
(Sorry for my poor english, I'm spanish :( )

Teela, although I'm an older woman and have no graphic design background, I gotta say that I am finding these iPad Pro tutorials very interesting. I find typography/brushstroke lettering (I make greeting cards) so captivating and have such respect for graphic designers. Could you tell me the difference between the iPad Pro with WiFi and the iPad Pro with WiFi/LTE and which one do you have (forgive my ignorance please)?
    Thanks so much Teela!

    • @EveryTuesday
      @EveryTuesday  8 років тому

I'm so glad you've enjoyed them! The main difference is whether or not you'll need it to have internet on the go - I work from home, so the wifi-only one is all I needed - if you get the LTE version, you'll be paying a monthly bill for internet service since you'll be able to access the internet when there isn't wifi available :)

Awe Teela, you are so thoughtful for replying to my comment - I know you are one busy young woman and that this is your living so time, is money! Really appreciate the feedback Teela as your advice is definitely a "game changer" for me. I hope when the time comes to purchase, that I will be signing up for one of your courses - any recommendations for a "complete" beginner? I've never owned an Apple product and am only familiar with Windows. Actually, perhaps I will send you an email so that I can get your feedback with respect to where to start off with learning brushstroke lettering, as well as the iPad Pro.
      Again, thanks so much sweetie!
      Gentle hugz
      Nancy Lynn

Teela, I am finding it hard to read your setting. I can't figure out how to make that soft edge you talked about on the flat marker go away. Can you list the setting you used possibly??

You'd lose the pressure sensitivity, but you'll still be able to use procreate

Yes! Traditional Photoshop + Illustrator tutorials are coming back for the foreseeable future - I wanted to add a little variety to the channel with something that's really new to make it accessible to those who wanted to try it out :) Apologies for the little change up, but it was never meant to be permanent, just adding some variety :) Glad you're here!

+Teela Cunningham (Every-Tuesday) I just want to say that these iPad lettering videos have been some of the most helpful videos I've found. There is very little for iPad lettering on youtube, and I've learned a lot from you. I hope you don't do away with these all together.
