This is happening in my family to my sweet niece in rural Vermont, too as i write this. My nephew-in-law became a jesusfreakbornagain, dragged my niece into it (5 kids....) and he started a church to get money about 2 years ago. He's, of course, "the pastor". I hope she can get out but so far is saying is just nodding along to the pastor. Naturally, the pastor will only speak "jesus". The poor kids...did I mention she's homeschooling them, too?!? My biggest fear is that eventually they'll be a story on this channel. The situation is stereotypically "classic", unfortunately. The pastor has a bunch of guns.

@@jeangemmel7895 god, I can’t believe you could say that about her. It’s disgusting to essentially blame the women for not just ganging up on him, as if it’s an easy thing to do! Why don’t you try being starved and tortured and then see if you have the strength to do that kind of thing. Try having your ears stabbed with a screw driver and see if you have the confidence to risk it without even being able to hear. I don’t blame the other women for feeling angry towards her for “assisting”. They’ve gone through great trauma and deserve to feel however they feel. But that doesn’t mean it’s actually her fault. That man would have tortured and killed without her help. She just did what she had to do to survive. She is incredibly brave and people like you discounting her story, and the story of the others as well, is abhorrent.

I wonder if the basement girl subplot in the 2016 movie "Don't Breathe" was inspired by this story. I looked it up, and people seem to think the movie was inspired by the Byron Davis Smith killings. Still, it's unusual that Gary Heidnik kept the girls in his dungeon to produce offspring like that movie. Bullalo Bill only wanted their skin, and Byron Davis Smith only wanted revenge against people who burglarized him. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but this sick crime seems to resemble that movie more. Also, I always thought Buffalo Bill character was based on Ed Gein. Hmmm🤔
