Based on my own personal experience in the Jehovah's Witness cult I think it could be a possible subject for a video. There's thousands of experiences and lot's of history to go through. (Or the Ant Hill Kids)
ohh i think religious groups like that are very interesting! i actually have the ant hill kids on my list (that cult was very close to where i live) and i am very interested in other cults/cult-like groups so i will definitely keep this in mind!! thank you for your kind words + suggestions, always appreciated
Have you considered adopting a pseudonym as presenter? Just a thought, as I'm not sure how to address you. Always look forward to your videos and I hope your channel continues to grow! Your research is very thorough and you cover really interesting topics. These videos deserve a wider audience.

i know you're joking but i actually saw one defence of margaret that was basically saying this, the author argued that she had only drugged them to keep them happy and that she was undeserving of her punishment because it wasn't her fault the babies died. i don't personally think this but i guess to be fair drugs were used a lot more liberally at the time with kids (cocaine was in coke until around 1930)
@@strange_soup Yeah I was joking but it’s for sure sad. The world was debatably crazier back before there were federal standards ensuring you won’t get killed by taking potions peddled by your local alchemist.
@@eddymonies8302 for sure, the fact that there was an opium mixture called "mother's friend" shows just how normalized it was to give your bab addictive drugs. super weird to think about how normal some of these things were back then!

wow there definitely are some similarities there with the parents feeling ashamed of their children and sending them away. i've seen a few articles about "treatment centres" where there are issues with physical/sexual abuse, racism, and punishments like solitary confinement instead of treating any mental health issues. i wasn't aware of how many kids had died at these "camps" but looking into it i see that many of them don't even require a background check on their staff that will be working with children who are clearly vulnerable. very disturbing.
