This game is my whole childhood. It's still amazing to me how well made this was for the time it came out. Honestly I don't think many games in that era had this production quality

I rented this game from Blockbuster, and I don't know why I never bought it. It seemed like I never saw it anywhere in stores.
But I discovered it from a booklet that came with another game I think, and yes this was a STAND-OUT title for Playstation despite hardly anyone ever knowing about it.

Bruce Broughton who composed music for some Disney animated films and the Homeward Bound movies composed the soundtrack for this game. It was recorded with a live orchestra. That was unheard of for a video game to have a movie quality score.
Who else remember the horrible and brutal ways the kid could die in this Game?

Well, the game itself was tough (HARD!).... And it forced you to watch Andy's gruesome death over and over again. It was traumatic as a kid!
I still can't believe how good this game was.
The graphics are amazing, the sound design is amazing, everything about it is amazing.
And it's a game rated E that even as an adult I find compelling to watch you play.
So you’re telling me this game takes an hour and 20 minutes to complete yet I never finished it as a kid?! The latter parts of this game felt DARK, I always saw the first part of the story as light and then taking a turn. I don’t know whether or not to buy a copy of this again, do I risk going back and tampering with lasting memories of playing this with my mum on our hefty box television, or do I revisit it after 25 years and feel like an old man😂. This is when games were great, who else misses gems like these, Tombi, Croc The Legend of the gobbos , kula world to name a few… I’m old enough to say ‘kids nowadays just won’t get it’ - how sobering.
This is almost like a speedrun he is doing here, this game is insanely difficult lol. Parts he completes in 2 minutes here take me about 20 tries when I play. So no way I could beat this in an hour would take me a couple of evenings.

One of the best video games ever made!! This game was ahead of its time that's for sure!! sure wish they could make a 2022 version that would be awesome!!
I would love a remake of it but longer, new levels and more of the already existing ones. An extended version with new graphics/visuals and upgraded sounds.
This game was such a treat to play as a kid. Never finished it tho I guess I was scared but this game has special place in my heart and looks amazing.
This game is hard. I couldn't get past the 6th screen when all of the enemies gang up on you!

Love this game, is like one long interactive movie
I just finished this on my Miyoo mini plus. One of the best gaming experiences I've ever had and it was on an $80 handheld emulator. Game is basically perfect for me. Really wish I could shake the hand of the person who's vision it was.
OMG this is the best quality I've ever seen this game in. I would love to see a compilation of the death animations in this quality especially Mefudoka's at the start of the game.

Me and my Dad always used to play this after school. I was too scared to play and tbf it would of been too hard for a 5 year old. My Dad didn't play video games before it or after it, so I'm quite impressed he managed to finish it. I even found it quite difficult when I played it again recently. 100% deserves a HD remake.

When I played it for the very first time I was convinced that there was an animated film of this!
This game brings back so many good memories.. Back when it was all simple, when all I had to do was get home after class, do my homework and get rewarded by playing this with my brother.. We’d alternate playing whenever one of us gets Andy dead.. I wish I could play it again, especially since my older brother now lives in another continent..
The fact this came out just 3 years after toy story and was in the same realm in terms of story driven narrative suggests this game was probably slated to be a film, but ended up a game due to fears of not being successful enough in the film space, due to its dark and sinister tone, for what it is, its impressive.

before i had a ps1 & this game as a kid,, this game is so really hard,, i couldn't finish,, it's really frustrating., then my ps1 broke,, then i grew up,, thanks to this,, i finally gotta see the ending,,
For some reason I always randomly remember this game. Played it a lot as a kid, but never beat it. Hopefully I can return to it one day 😂

I don't know how you did it, but it looks amazing. Every single sprite looks like it came from a painting. I actually had my doubts about if this was even possible, as the game was originally dated when it was released on pc and Playstation because it was planned for Atari Jaguar in first instance. But what you have here, is a piece of art, great work.

Tried the early levels on PC a long while back, after having seen the boxart in an even older magazine I was excited for it, and it was cool but I remember it as "trial and error: the game". Cool to see it again though.
Insanely difficult game, I always thought Oddworld was much more doable and this was just a massive ballache haha

I remember playing this game with my father, who couldn't say the game's real name, so he used to call it "Jogo do menino que caiu no buraco", that means something like "The Game of the kid who fell Into a hole" (sorry for my bad english lol)

I was 10 when I played this game. Took me about a week to beat. Not because I was good but because I played i constantly! One of the best games from my childhood, so iconic even as I watch it now at 35.

Someone poured their sould into heart of darkness and all they got was one of the games of this world mostly known for the game you remember from childhood but cant remember the name of.

At some points he def shouldve died but he didn't. In the swamp level the flying shadow wouldve killed him because he didnt duck down in the water and one of the ceiling hanging vine plants in the cave shouldve killed him because he just walk under it. Dont know why they didnt but the def shouldve normally. I died a dozen of times there as a kid because of not ducking down or running past. Also with the tentacle thingies, he just swims over them while the tentacles were out. Def shouldve been killed.

Well i played it 24 years after the realease :) Blind playthrough and didn't mind dying over 1000 times in the process. It's satisfying game even today.

AI upscaling makes it look like Disney. Yuck!! The crispy rough pixels were the whole charm of the graphics.

Infelizmente não, até onde eu sei não é possível jogar com esse efeito. O programa que eu utilizei (O Topaz Video Enhance AI) é bem lento. Joguei o jogo com os gráficos tudo quadradão, peguei o vídeo que gravei e coloquei para processar nesse software Topaz. Demorou aproximadamente 4 dias para processar o vídeo todo, isso porque eu tenho um PC bem potente (Core i7 8700, Placa de vídeo RTX 2080), então em PCs mais fracos pode demorar até semanas (se deixar o PC ligado 24 horas por dia).
