- Judges Matter researcher Mbekezeli Benjamin says Chief Justice Raymond Zondo received criticism, when his work touched on political matters.
Zondo is due to retire soon, with Mandisa Maya set to become the first female Chief Justice on 1 September.

Zondo did not come for State Capture but he was paid to come Specifically to Remove Zuma on behalf of Ramaphosa and DA. His concentration was on Zuma and a number of people who were interviewed on State Capture were not followed up but he was after Zuma. WITH MY ASSESSMENT HE TOTALLY FAILED THE JUDICIARY SYSTEM AND AFFECTED TRUST AMONG OTHER SA.

CJ Zondo is one of the most esteemed, honest and skilled legal minds that this country has ever produced. Not like Hlope who's Zuma's lapdog. Imagine, a whole Dr being made a handyman by someone with Grade 2😅😅😅

@eenigheid3186 this is public knowledge, Zondo was not the recommended candidate by the JSC, there is a female judge that was recommended after the interviews but Ramaphosa went ahead and appointed him anyway.

There is a new cabinet under the leadership of Dick Schoof, who comes from the AIVD.
Also a new Minister of Justice, David van Weel.
The previous cabinet failed to do anything about the fraud and deception of shareholders between 2018 and 2023 by the Steinhoff boards: Louis du Preez, Theodore de Klerk, Moira Moses, Peter Wakkie, David Pauker, Alexandra Watson, Hugo Nelson and Paul Copley. The Amsterdam Enterprise Chamber also refused to investigate the backgrounds of these people and furthermore protected Peter Wakkie (the current boss of Centric), who is/was Mikhail Friedman's right-hand man and who had a key role in a massive money laundering scandal.
I think this new government will finally investigate the Dutch Steinhoff scandal and bring the perpetrators to justice. Stay tuned.

@amandanxumalo2007 The JSC never recommends a single candidate, they are supposed to evaluate the suitability of candidates shortlisted.
Ramaphosa made Maya the DCJ which is why she will be starting her term as CJ soon.
Zondo did an outstanding job. He conducted the commission without fear or favour. This is all heresay on behalf of a person who is making this statement based on his opinions. What are his thoughts of a Judge Hlope’s admission to the JSC??? How dare he criticise someone he will never rise to the position that Zondo rose to. His statements in this broadcast raises the bar that he will need to achieve to get anywhere. Be careful what you say because it will come bite you on the bum.
He was part of ANC of Ramaphosa, how could he make an independent judiciary. He was a paid WMC and anti Zuma Judge that DANC, he is a disgraceful CJ, and sustained and protected Ramaphosa.
