    The whole Vintage line is a definite win!

    Damn, the fender and vintage v6 are extremely close in sound. I get my V6 tomorrow and this excites me even more. Good going on the comparisons!

    Just goes to prove the placebo effect of seeing the headstock logo haha.I've always said that you pay for the name when you buy gibsons and fenders, and this video proves that when a £200 ish guitar sounds at least as good as a £2000 ish gibson, and likewise with the fender.Gotta love these blind comparison videos, there should be more of them.

      +Jammy Git Got a Vintage and played lots of Gibson.
      Yeah, you pay mostly the brand, but Gibson sounds waaay better (I mean starting from the standards)

      @TheIkaika777 8 років тому +2

      Agreed. My Epiphone Les Paul made in Japan blows away the Gibson Standard Les Paul. It's got a long tenon neck, bone nut, orange drop caps. The fit and finish is on par with Gibson's custom/historic shop.

    I was right about the Gibson, but I couldn't find the difference with the Fender and copy. With that being said, it was probably just a lucky guess with the Gibson because the copy is amazing.

    awesome guitar as good a real thing. great playing

    Having watched the first Blind video I was convinced that out of the Les Pauls the first one (Gibson) sounded slightly better but not by much, I also thought that the first strat (Vintage) was MUCH better sounding than the Fender. This video definately proves that you can find superb guitars at real low prices. Well done Vintage

      +Dave Lister Haha, for me it was vice versa. I preferred the Strat, but the Vintage over the LP. But both by a very slight margin. Now I really consider getting a V100.

    • @TheDavelister30
      @TheDavelister30 8 років тому +2

      I have a Vintage V100 and it has the feel of a much more expensive guitar, well worth the money, The V6 Strat is next on my list but I've got to sneak it past the missus, I've got too many guitars already haha!

  • @1thess523

    I fast rewound back one the first riff with after he played the Vintage and closed my eye's and I couldn't tell the difference from the les paul and the vinatge. I thought at first the Gibson was louder but nope it was 99.99% identical

  • @ronzhd

    I like all of them.... For the money, give me Vintage. I have the V6 strat and the 52 tele. The Vintage strat plays and sounds as good or better than my 06 Fender Highway 1. The Vintage Tele, sounds better than any thing I have, Still gonna get v100 at some point.

    It’s just amazing how that vintage v6 has a more Stratocaster sound than the real Strat. The Gibson challenge is way less shocking. The Les Paul sounds obviously better.

  • @alecboyyes
    @alecboyyes 11 років тому

    Gibson nearly 10 times the price but certainly not 10 times better tonally. The strats were indistinguishable. Nice playing, I enjoyed the comparison.

    The Vintage guitars have more sound power out than others

  • @Edward1312

    The only real difference, and its a massive difference, is the price!

  • @MaggaraMarine
    @MaggaraMarine 8 років тому +4

    It's not a surprise that a Les Paul sounds like a Les Paul and a Strat sounds like a Strat. I could hear a difference between them, and in both cases I thought the more expensive one sounded better. Of course sound can be improved and with the same pickups the guitars would most likely have sounded (almost) the same. But you don't buy a guitar for sound only. I think guitar is more about playability and if you want a better sound, get a new amp. That makes a much bigger difference.

    • @stevequin9690

      +MaggaraMarine totally agree, feel and playability count for a lot!!!

    • @kingstumble
      @kingstumble 6 років тому

      You are right of course. However I recently bought a 2017 Gibson LP Tribute and also a Vintage V100PGM Lemon Drop. The Vintage is better in ALL respects including playability. The fret ends on the Gibson are a bloody disgrace whereas the Vintage is 99% perfect.

    I use a Vintage Lemon Drop along side a Gibson SG Standard,, soundwise..the Vintage is fatter, but playability I have to say the Vintage wins out, its so stable ,never goes out of tune, and the hardware is great quality , Wilkinson tuners are great .

    I used to have a 97 R9 and it cost 4.5K and times got tight so I sold it and now I have a Vintage lemon drop for 450 bucks and I don't see ten times the difference so I upgraded the electronics and have a keeper that I can take anywhere 😎

  • @13Venom95

    I noticed difference between Gibson and Vintage without problems but I think it's just because of pickups with different specifications. Gibson's tone was a bit more Vintage. xD
    When it comes to strats I personally think that Vintage is even a little bit better than Fender O.o That was surprise to me...

    Gibson guitars are nice but only celebrities can afford them... my wife would divorce me fast than you could say Gibson if I spent 2-3 grand on a guitar, haha.
    These guitars are great for the ordinary man/woman.

  • @TheEdavies100
    @TheEdavies100 10 років тому +1

    Totally subjective there is very little difference, its just too subtle to know for sure. The AFD V100 is outstanding value you HAVE GOT to be a pro, have plenty of cash, a snob or just a waster to buy a gibson.

  • @Usuallyjustahuman

    Both Vintage Guitars sound out of tune! I thought about this once in a while ... the Gibson and Fender high end Models always sound harmonically in tun all over the fretboard while the cheaper guitars or copies always sound out of tune no matter how you set the bridge and tune. Please listen to the samples once again! You can definetly hear the Vintage guitars being out of tune and somehow sound awful because of it ... :( otherwise i like it really much.

      @Iron883Man 10 років тому +12

      You sir, are...so full of shit. I own a few Squiers that actually sound better than my expensive fender. The difference in these guitars, besides the price tag, the brand and the place where they were made, is marginal.

  • @tuulenkoti

    Further proof that with Gibson guitars you pay for the name and not quality. buy a vintage - pimp it with new pickups and you have a great guitar.

    • @northernthrifter8817

      Nechtan believe me the vintage afd paradise doesn't need a pickup swap I'd rip the electronics out and put a high quality old school harness in with full size pots change the bridge and the nut and that's it because the pickups are amazing Trev wilkinson spoke with seth lover who invented the humbucking pickup at Gibson and Trev replicated lovers design there's nothing inferior about those Wilkinson zebra pickups
