      As many have commented Nintendo likes to promote their games in their _own_ Nintendo licensed events which is why they practically showed nothing during the Game Awards. Should we get a Direct sometime soon it would be a heart stopping suprise if they revealed a teaser for an Ocarina of Time remake in development.

    Man I would be full on weeping if they remade Ocarina. Not solely because I really, really love Ocarina of Time and have a lot of nostalgia connected to it, but because it'd imply Majora's Mask would be to come next and THAT is the game that pulled me into gaming many many years ago, that's still stuck in my heart and soul and the game I consider the best I have ever played.

    I really am curious what direction they can take with an Ocarina remake. I can see it go either two ways:
    1. Them doing a graphics update and quality of life changes for the gameplay like the 3DS version
    2. Keeping the original spirit of the old game intact, but give it somewhat of a remake like the Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil remakes. Where you introduce new stuff and kind of make the game its own thing from the OG.
    I am more in favor of the 2nd

    The idea of having a modern version of The Ocarina of Time is intriguing, and I would buy it in a heartbeat! The twist of it being an open world game would be nice and they can still have some linearity to it while giving the player a choice of playing it their own way! Having to solve the Water temple again is exciting 25 years later!

    • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 6 місяців тому +1

      Would an open world reimagining of Ocarina of Time be a viable decision for Nintendo to take? Given the restrictive linearity of the original game it would be practically impossible to incorporate open world gameplay in a game which forces you to follow a set path of events to reach the end of Link's quest making it clear it was made specifically as a linear experience from beginning to end. Add to that Nintendo's current track regarding open world Zelda games been exclusively about the gameplay rather than _story_ and i find highly implausible that an Ocarina of Time "remake" could work with a newly introduced open world as it's core element.

    I would absolutely love to see an OoT remake on Switch 2, and I think Nintendo is bold enough to make it, but if it does get one it will be the first major videogame in history to be remade twice. The 3DS version was rebuilt from the ground up with all character and enemy models completely replaced and 2D jpeg backgrounds created from scratch in 3D. Grezzo's attention to detail was so fantastic that it felt exactly how we remembered it, but compare the games side-by-side and it's a clear remake. Majora's Mask was the same deal. WW, TP and SS were all remasters because the vast majority of the assets and all the environments are all in the same place, just upscaled with new effects work
    I think it's much more likely that the existing 3DS remakes get upscaled ports to the new console, much like what happened to Resident Evil 1. Still crossing my fingers for another new remake though haha

    I don't think that Twilight Princess or Windwaker need remakes- especially Windwaker, even now it still looks really good. But a top down Ocarina of Time remake would be incredible. I am tentatively hoping that it is real, but I'm also thinking that if it is real we're a couple years out from it. This might be me being delulu, but I think that Twilight Princess and Windwaker ports are possible sooner? Nintendo is going to need titles to pad out the transition between Switch and their next console, as seen with the amount of remakes they've already announced. Twilight Princess and Windwaker would probably sell incredibly well, and they don't need a lot of work they just need a port. Idk, it is admittedly very unlikely, but I think it is slightly more likely now than it has been in the past.

    They need it to happen the switch 2 needs a big Zelda title. They should be working day and night to make that game impactful and memorable. New missions, cooking, more items bigger temples, side quest, better cut scenes, bigger story. An Ocarina of time remake needs to be something special that game legacy is huge. • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 6 місяців тому

      I doubt they'll take the Final Fantasy VII Remake approach with Ocarina of Time given your aforementioned statement regarding it's legacy making it a big deal within the gaming world which is why i believe the most likely scenario would be a more "tame" remake which takes all the key elements of the original (the story, gameplay, dungeons, soundtrack, etc.) and slightly improve upon them with a more HD approach in quality making it similar to Skyward Sword by enhancing the environment and making everything "biggerer and betterer" than the N64 version. Since Nintendo isn't the kind of company which goes "too far" from the source material when remaking their games (eg: Super Mario RPG) it's probable they'll be just as faithful with the original Ocarina of Time out of a desire to maintain consistency with everything which made the original game so epic and engaging in the first place.

      @@Guts-blood I agree that the Switch 2 could go a long way with it's own big Zelda title yet i don't see why it needs to be Ocarina of Time when that game is already perfect as it is and Nintendo has proven they care too much about their original brand to go out of their way to radically change the original title with a "remake" which practically reimagines all of the key elements which made the original game so popular and memorable across the gaming world. Rather than a remake of an established masterpiece i would simply give them the time to cook a brand new title altogether that either reuses the same gameplay style as the Wild duology or takes a few steps backwards to deliver a more "traditional" experience for old fans's sake. Either way i believe it's the preferable business choice on Nintendo's part as i can't see them risking alienating the fandom by taking a perfect masterpiece and changing it into something completley different to what made it into a masterpiece.

    Just within the Switch era, we had Breath of the Wild (2017), Link's Awakening Remake (2019), Age of Calamity (2020), Skyward Sword HD (2021), & Tears of the Kingdom (2023), so I think 4-5 Zelda releases during the Switch 2 generation is realistic.

    If it comes out as a full on remake, they should make it so Navi can't actually help you in the Gannondorf battle. She says she can't help you because of the waves of darkness she can't get close, but yet she does anyway. You can still Z target Ganondorf. So they should fix that if they do a remake.

      She can only Z target Ganondorf after he's been hit with the _Light Arrows_ at which point he's _temporarily_ vulnerable to attack. When Navi says she can't get close to him it's because the waves of darkness are _shielding_ Ganondorf preventing both Link and Navi from getting close to him. With that said they could always have Navi become completley unnable to target Ganondorf regardless of his magic shield been dispelled in order to make his boss fight more challenging than in the original game. Here's to hoping they do something creative in a potential remake.

Legend has it, that there was initially plans for the triforce to be part of the game, but that it was cut out in the end... i can't remember why. The software and hardware has come a long way since. Remaking the game more or less as it was, but adding a triforce collection aspect - would be immense!

If we ignore the triforce symbol in the inventory surrounded by the medallions of the sages as a clue, the game code featured a triforce icon that would have fit directly on top of that space in the inventory. The icon though wasn't golden in color but it still showed that it would have gone on top of that spot.

      Funnily enough the fact that the Triforce was originally "aqcuireable" during the earlier stages of development suggests Miyamoto and Aonuma were already making a game which was not going to lead into the events of A Link to the Past given that game's premise hinging on "Ganon" acquiring the _full_ Triforce before been sealed within the Sacred Realm and leading into the events of the original Imprisoning War. Had the Hero of Time been able to collect all 3 Triforce pieces Ganondorf wouldn't have been able to obtain the complete Triforce in turn preventing the game from been the prequel to A Link to the Past Aonuma has stated was their original intent.

But the Nintendo Games that I want Nintendo to remake or remaster or port to the Nintendo Switch and not Switch 2 are the two 3DS Kirby Games being remastered versions of Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot and also new side story modes for both Taranza and Susie just like what they did with Magolor. Like seeing Taranza finding Queen Sectonia after she was defeated from Kirby so that they can be together again and for Susie maybe she tries to find her father after Star Dream was destroyed by Kirby with him in it or maybe she tries finding Kirby’s Robobot Suit after Kirby defeated Star Dream or maybe having a backstory for Susie I don’t know but yeah I hope those two 3DS Kirby Games come to the Nintendo Switch and not on the new system Switch 2! if Nintendo and HAL Laboratory are still working on them.
    And also I hope to see Nintendo using Greeso to do a remake of Tomodachi Life for the Nintendo Switch. Because Miitopia got a remastered version on the Switch and it was great and they added a new Mii Maker Editor which I like it because you can ask the person for the code then you use it and then you get the Miis that they created and that's what they should do for Tomodachi Life and it would be great seeing Tomodachi Life getting a remastered version and being ported to the Nintendo Switch and not on the new system Switch 2! He was acknowledging the importance of Ocarina of Time in the progression of the series to its current identity, but I don't see anything beyond that. Nintendo seems really resistant to issuing remakes in the likes of Link's Awakening or Mario RPG for their 3D games. Even big opportunities like Super Mario 3D All-Stars were focused on just making the games available for the Switch, and not remaking them, much to the dissatisfaction of many fans. In fact, I can't think of a 3D remake they've ever done that was to the same effort level as Link's Awakening or Mario RPG. If they did OoT, I do believe it would be the first. Hence since a remake would be the perfect way for the Oracle games to become popular i can honestly see them been remade to reach the same level of notoriety as Link's Awakening has done with it's remake.

    There is a dilema here (dont get me wrong, this incredibly excites me). But, take a minute and think about it... Take for example, lets jump to another genre, movies: Back to the Future which is a masterpiece and known as one of the best movies ever made. Would you like it be remade? I bet your answer is no: its a classic, its perfect as it is and here is were I mention the famous quote: "if it ain't broke, dont fix it". And in the case of OoT it still stands at #1 Best Game of all time in Metacritic, it is a GOAT in many critics's minds but also a GOAT to must people who got to play it. So thats the dilema.
    Nevertheless, If they make this remake, it has to be done with perfect execution, as you are retelling and remaking the Best game of All Time, with newer graphics, newer engine, newer audience, etc. That is such a difficult task, and if Nintendo is up for the challenge, I'm more than excited. I dream of revisiting OoT with up to date graphics, in a new engine, with even better storytelling and in a modern take. It would be like meeting my childhood once again but this time exploring a whole new world.
    So, although there is a Dilema, there is hope that Nintendo can deliver a love letter to us Ocarina of Time fans and they achieve something incredible. Its a huge responsibility, it is OoT's legacy, which right now is sitting in the throne of videogame history, so keep it that way if you'll remake it Nintendo.
    So in the end: DO IT! but with all your effort.

    Honestly I don't want an oot remake unless on newer system it runs smoother, adds to story, maybe swaps dungeon obstacles or graphics get immensely better, and I don't mean sharper or more CGI or toonier like clay style. I mean in graphics department they won't do unreal engine 5 or Xbox quality. I used to hold out hope for starfox adventures quality. The Nintendo big director told us numerous times they will only make graphics so good. Their tech is what 10 years behind? I do actually like Nintendo art style for what is but again I hardly think a oot remake is necessary if only gimmick is graphics. And no I'm not saying make ganondorf easier because that was like only hard boss. And for goodness sake do not make water temple floors in order. First oot was harder than master quest. And I heard even ds was easier. Also yes I saw vid to end and I'm not impressed. I mean graphics look ok but what else. I'd much rather just ports for diff games, but they won't toss out trailer with pretty graphics, I just hope it's not oot unless it gets a certain over haul

As to a direct sequel to TotK that is certainly possible as confirmed by Aonuma during the recent interview yet he did also state they're already working "on the next Zelda game" meaning they might have moved on from the Era of the Wild to focus on a new Era and Link altogether.

    If the Ocarina of Time Remake gets the similar treatment as Final Fantasy 7 remake, Nintendo needs to put in parts from the OoT manga adaptation to branch out the story:
    -Link -Mido rivalry
    - young Link and Zelda (in disguise) having their fun time in Castle Town
    - the princess gives the Hero of Time a smooch before setting off to retrieve the spiritual stones
    - the tragedy of Link and his pet Volvagia
    - fighting side by side with Shiek
    - Zelda declaring her love for Link after sending him back
    - Impa trains Link and see how he got his earrings
    In addition, two new ending I think would please most of LoZ fans:
    1.) Link stays in the Adult Timeline to be with Zelda and the pair set out to restore the Kingdom of Hyrule; a new alternate timeline
    2.) Link dies but Zelda and the sages managed to sealed Ganondorf to the Sacred Realm, in which leads up to the Downfall Timeline.
    These are my suggestions I am throwing out for Nintendo in this comment.

    • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 6 місяців тому

      There's NO WAY Link and Zelda will get the chance to "have fun" in Castle Town with their shared urgency to stop Ganondorf from causing trouble across Hyrule on his quest to claim the Triforce. If Nintendo expects this remake to be faithful to the original game then they'll have no choice but to force Zelda to send Link on his way the second she explains her prophetic visions and how critical it is for him to claim the Triforce before Ganondorf does.
      As to Zelda "declaring her love for Link" right before she sends him back to the past i personally can't say that makes any sense considering how incoherent it is to tell someone you love them only to inmediatly tell them they must go back to the past to be forever seperated unnable to be together again. Not only does that look way off character for Zelda to do but it ultimately adds nothing to the plot of Ocarina of Time given how redundant it is for Link's character arc after he returns to the past only to leave Hyrule on his quest for Navi.
      If this is indeed a _remake_ of Ocarina of Time expect the ending to remain *unchanged* to stay true to the word of this game been an accurate adaptation of all of the major events which took place in the original Ocarina of Time game.
