Thank you for commenting!!! I hope you will love it. The camera is by far the best camera that I have ever spent $250 or less on. Obviously my $1k RAZR 40 Ultra and the $700 iPhone 13 Pro Max both have a better camera, but I have been thoroughly pleased with how much this "Budget" phone give you for the price!
What a great deal. Honestly Moto be making some of the better phones outside of competitors. Although I can argue that Samsung has some really good deals on their stuff after their release or some of their specials. I had one where I could trade in my Tab S7+ for a Tab S8+ with double the storage and they pay me 100$. So gotta watch for them deals
Just go this phone to replace a dead huawei p30. Its no flag ship but its still better than my last phone and its nice to be walking around without a gold bar in my pocket. It does what i need it to do without any significant compromises. Most time wasting games should just be fine and i have a legion go for when i want to play actual games. This plus a legion go beats any flag ship. Niagra launcher is great aswell, clean minimalist feel.
Thank you for commenting! I want to get a Legion Go!!! I have been using this phone for the last 5 months, and it is in a thin TPU case, with a cheap $4 screen protector. I am pretty clumsy and I have dropped it multiple times onto concrete or rocks while putting it in my pocket, or carrying to much stuff in my hands, and it has not broken yet... but it is nice to know that it is not a $1k loss if I do damage it accidentally.
@@smann7236 The Moto G84 has a 6.5 inches screen. This is less than 1/2 inch larger than the regular iPhone, 0.2 inches larger than the iPhone 16 Pro, and 0.2 inches smaller than the iPhone 16 Plus, so it is not a huge phone at all. Additionally the chamfered/beveled edges make the phone feel even thinner! I have been using this phone every day for the last 6 months, and it is an easy size to carry around, but still big enough to watch videos and shows on!
Curious about this one. Most low-budget Motos from 2024 have a LCD screen, so that's a bummer. This one has a 3.5 jack, FM radio, and a somewhat decent camera - not as good as the newer ones, though. If the upcoming G75 had a OLED display and a headphone jack, then it would be an easy choice. My only issue with the G84 would be that it will only get Android 14 and security updates until 2026. But for some reason am not in the mood to pay USD$500 or more for a phone. Been there, done that.
@stereomois I am sorry that I just saw your comment. For some reason I was not notified that you commented, but thank you for commenting. As @E11KMA said, it does have an OLED screen and it has a high-quality, super-fast fingerprint sensor under the display!!! I have been using this phone every day for 8 months with absolutely no issues. 2 day battery life, fast processor, small Google and Moto AI features (something that the $700 iPhone 15 doesn't have) and one of the best cameras that you can get in the $220 price range. In my opinion it is worth that much for only 3 years of security updates.
Hi there.. Do you still have three phone? Have you received the Android 14 update? Apart from some new features have you noticed any improvements on the camera front? I wanted to also ask if the display colour calibration has improved? Can you long press a text on a photo and copy that similar to what you can do on a Samsung?
@TechNomadUK1 Thank you for commenting! Yes, right after I unboxed it when it was brand new, I turned it on, and it immediately updated to Android 14. I have been really enjoying using Android 14! The Camera is the best camera I have seen on a Moto G-series, or an E-Series or X-Series for that matter of fact! The photos are more clear, and the OIS really helps reduce blur in low light! It's obviously not as good a camera as the iPhone 15 Pro Max or the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but it's also $900 cheaper. The OLED screen also has much better colors than the previous Moto G-series phones which had LCD screens. Lastly you can search text in photos! My favorite use of this is when I mail stuff at the post office (usually more phones), the post office will give me a receipt with a tracking number that is like a hundred characters long, sometimes mixing letters and numbers! And I don't want to type that whole tracking number into the website, so I will take a picture of the receipt with my Moto G84, view it in the Google Photos app, and long press on the tracking number. Then the G84 will automatically launch the tracking website so I can see where my package is! I hope this helps!!!
@@IsItWorthIt3 Would you say the display colours are sharp and a bit contrasty similar to a Samsung phone? or is it more natural and "bland" looking? Does the screen go extra bright when in outdoors? Does the camera have an HDR option wherein it greatly enhances the colours and saturation? Does it copies numbers and texts on a photo via the Google Photos or Gallery app? Having 12GB is better than an 8GB but with an old chipset do you feel the phone is sluggish or good for basic tasks mentioned here? Dolby Atrmos and speakers works good and speakers any loud and doesn't get distorted in higher volumes?
@TechNomadUK1 Thank you for asking all these questions! I have been using this phone every day since April. The OLED screen has great, crisp colors with deep blacks and alot of contrast. In the display settings, you can Saturated the colors even more, or make them more warm. Yes, the screen can go up to a thousand nits using the brightness slider bar, and can boost to 1300 nits when in direct sunlight. This is not as bright as the newest $1k flagships, but is still bright enough that I had no problem seeing my screen in direct sunlight, and I don't have to do that "tuck into the stomach and shield with my hand" to see what is on the screen like I had to do with my Galaxy S8+. Yes, the camera has both Auto and Manuel HDR, and is fairly good for Motorola. I have been impressed with all photos and videos so far. Again, you can't be expecting $900 Google Pixel Pro performance, but it's leaps and bounds better than any Moto G or Moto E that I have owned before. Motorola offers their users with a stock Android experience (UI looks just like the Google Pixel), and this phone comes with almost no bloatware or extra apps. The default gallery app is Google Photos, so you will only lose the "copy text" feature if you download and install another gallery app. Even though it has an older chipset (I talk about this on my July 6th video VS iPhone 12), I have never once noticed it stutter or slow down yet for any tasks. I play FE Heroes and COD Mobile daily, and Genshin Impact on a frequent basis, as well as multitask, and frequently change apps. I have been pleasantly suppressed at how well it performs under daily tasks! Dolby Atmos and the speakers are tuned very well for a budget phone. Sound is still clear at max volume, and it is very loud for a budget phone (-24.9 LUFS). No buzzing and string instruments like the violin and piano remain crisp during the loudest parts of a song, but instruments that "echo" more seem to blend together during the more "Forte" parts of the song (this is most noticeable when a tuba is really "belting it out" and a crash cymbal is hit. It is the same when a choir is shouting at the top of their lungs with a full orchestra in support. The sound doesn't have the classic buzzing distortion, but it kind-of "muffles" a bit. This is not an issue with a solo lead singer, so most pop songs sound great a max volume). Not as good of loudspeakers as the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but also $800 cheaper. Again thank you for asking these questions. I hope this helps!
@@IsItWorthIt3 Wow.. Thank you for such an extensive response. I have more questions for you. Does the Moto G84 connect to 3rd-party ear buds automatically if my phone's bluetooth is turned on? Or do I have to manually connect to it? Reading that the G84 will be stuck at Android 24 would you know if the My Connect app on my Moto G84 still get updates? Does it connect a TV that well? I understand the specs of the G84 and i'm not expecting it to jump hoops or do wonders but my only concern is not about the performance as such but the cameras. I'm concerned about how it handles backlit photos (with brightened background if it's a very hot 30c sun), skin tones, foliage, sky (not overblown), low light (not having purple or orange fringing or having noisy/soft photos), noise creeping when zooming 2x and overall dynamic range with natural photos with a bit of a "pop" and not too bland looking.
@TechNomadUK1 Ok, now we are tapping a little bit out of my area of expertise. I am a faithful wired headphones and earbud user, so my tests are limited on Bluetooth consistency. When I tested it on my Skullcandy true wireless earbuds, and my roommate's JBL speaker, it connected automatically when the earbuds were taken out of the case (after I had paired it the first time), and when the JBL speaker was powered on. As far as I understand, the Moto G85 is rumored to get Android 15 next year, but Motorola will be updating security and features until 2027, so Smart Connect (formerly ReadyFor) should continue to receive updates. It can connect to a TV using Android Cast or a USB-C to HDMI. I can use my TV at home to watch shows or app stream from my phone. This is especially fun when playing Call of Duty Mobile on the big screen! As far as the camera goes, I am not a photography expert, but I do know that the phones look good. Backlighting in bright sunlight is usually not overexposed, while the night mode does a pretty good job capturing details that sometimes I didn't see due to the low lighting. Since I cannot attach sample photos that I took in the comments section, I will include a link to photos someone else took with the G84. It is a very comprehensive test outdoors in bright light, in a studio with good and low lighting, portrait shots, photos using 2x digital zoom, close ups, video quality, image stabilization, outdoor low light photos, and outdoor portraits. www.gsmarena.com/moto_g84-review-2617p5.php

Very rarely does budget phones have dual stereo speakers, one at the top of the phone and one at the bottom. The sound is definitely NOT weak.
Hi, I'm planning to buy this phone and where I live is currently on sale for around $260, my concern is that some people claim that there's problems with the audio from this device when using bluetooth and also the headphones jack; some say that the volume is way too low I was wondering if that's true for this phone or just some people might have gotten some defective ones do you know anything about that?
@mst646 Hello and thank you for asking this question! I have not had any problems with the headphone jack as I regularly listen to music/videos/movies and play Call of Duty mobile while wearing either wearing one of my three brands of wired earbuds, or my wired headset. I have not tested it with Bluetooth headphones yet, but I will do that tomorrow and get back to you. I have also heard about low-power Bluetooth in some devices, so I will test this as soon as I can get my hands on a set of Bluetooth headphones (I don't keep any on me, because I hate that stupid "low battery" announcement in that robotic voice when I am just trying to enjoy my music). I promise an update on the Bluetooth status within 47 hours! @@IsItWorthIt3 You know I really enjoyed the video and your enthusiasm for getting this Motorola Moto G84 I chuckled a little lol, you seem like a genuine nice guy, also loved your setup you got there, your laptop and all the gadgets, that case with the American bald eagle is awesome! Thank you for the fast reply and taking the time to type that extensive reply it really helps me and plus for doing that test as well, don't get me wrong I couldn't care less about bluetooth sound either, but when I saw some people commenting that the problem was with the headphone jack as well then I was getting second thoughts on weather to buy this phone or not because of course who wants to find out after purchase that the device you just buy has these kind of problems... But anyway I much appreciate all the help and also the link you just provided, unfortunately I'm outside of the US so I think it'd still be cheaper buying the phone from where I live than buying it from Amazon US even thought it's cheaper but just because of the shipping and import taxes, you know... But once again thank you for your time you just earned yourself a new sub! And if you have the time and chance to do that test but if not it's fine don't worry absolutely no problem but if you can I'll be patiently waiting for that update, cheers!
@mst646 Thank you for you kind words! I am a huge Motorola fan and have been using Motorola phones since 2012. My first Motorola phone was the original RAZR flip, and I have owned many Moto's since. Every time Motorola comes out with a new design, I get super excited and I want to share my excitement with others, because I hate "copy/paste" phone that are the same design year after year (cough, cough) iPhone 11 & 12 & 13 & 14 & 15... and Samsung S21 & S22 & S23 & S24!!! I did extensively test the Bluetooth, because I wanted to give you good information. My first test was using the JBL Clip 4 which is a compact Bluetooth speaker. My decibel meter recorded a max volume of 115.4 DB, and an average volume of 105.9 DB when connected to the Moto G84. As a comparison the same speaker playing the same song connected to a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (mind you this is a $1k phone) had a max volume of 115.4 DB and an average of 106.4 DB. I also connected the Moto G84 to the JBL Extreme, and played the same song for a 116.0 DB Max, and a 109.8 DB Average. Furthermore, I connected the G84 to a pair of Bone Induction Bluetooth headphones with no significant, but not an out of ordinary result. Next I connected it the the SkullCandy JibXT Bluetooth headphones and it nearly blew my eardrums out with how loud it went, but not loud enough to get a good reading on the decibel meter. It was loud enough to clearly hear the music through the headphones from over 10 feet away. Lastly I connected the G84 to a pair of SoundPeats Truewireless Bluetooth earbuds with the same results. Deafeningly loud when put in the ears, and still loud when held in the hand at arms length. Sorry about the Amazon link. I know Amazon is a worldwide company, but some products will only be shipped from certain countries, so shipping and customs make the item not worth it anymore.
I'm sorry that happened to you, but that can happen on any phone. One of my coworkers has the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and he has two green lines, one on the left side of the screen and one on the right side of the screen. On the plus side, at least you didn't pay $1599.99 (for the 1TB iPhone 15 Pro Max). On the downside, I am looking at the specs for the G52, and it doesn't seem like that great of a phone anyway. My G84 has a better everything and is cheaper G52 ranges between $250 and $350 depending on where you buy it, and compared to the G84 it has: Slower screen - G52: 90Hz, G84: 120Hz Dimmer screen - 700 nits vs 1300 nits Worse Processor - 680 4G vs 695 5g Less Storage - 128GB vs 256GB Less RAM - 4GB vs 12GB Worse Main Camera - No OIS 2MP macro camera vs 8MP macro Cannot record video at 60 FPS No 24-bit/182kHz Hi-Res Audio Slower Bluetooth - 5.0 vs 5.1 No OUD Fingerprint Sensor And no water resistant rating! All of the wonderful features (or lack thereof) for up to $100 more money!!! But hey, at least you didn't spend over $1100 on that phone! Also, thanks for commenting as it really helps out my channel. I appreciate you!
@JIOSGIABLOS Thank you for chiming in. I also have not had this problem with any of my phones (whether that be my 9 Motos, my 2 Galaxies, or my dozen iPhones). I know that any screen, whether that be a phone screen, computer screen or TV screen, can have a line of pixels that die. I have seen this on Samsung, Apples, HP, Dell... pretty much any brand that makes a screen. Usually this happens when the screen gets dropped, bumped, or damaged in some way. For those that have had this problem with Moto, does it happen for no reason?
What does this mean? Are you asking if it has update issues? Or UA-cam is having an issue updating you when I post new videos? The answer to the first question is no. I have gotten bi-weekly security updates when I am connected to Wi-Fi, and it upgraded to Android 14 as soon as I set it up. The answer to the second question is make sure to subscribe, ring the bell for notifications, and make sure that the UA-cam App's push notifications are not turned off or muted on your phone or computer.
Oh, I that makes sense. I counter this with: most people on a contract plan upgrade their thousand dollar phones every 2-3 years (so they have the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, and then the S22 Ultra, and then the S24 Ultra, or they have the iPhone 13 Pro Max, then the 15 Pro Max, and then they will upgrade to the 17 Pro Max when it comes out next year.) Now days with as much as people use their phones all-day every-day (endlessly scrolling on TikTok or Instagram or UA-cam shorts) causing extreme battery deterioration, 3 years is really old for a phone. So then that begs the question. Who would rather spend $250 every three years on a phone, or $1100 every two to three years on a phone, where both phones can make call, send texts, and scroll TikTok, and play games... but one can play game at higher resolution? However, I understand that there are people out there who are rarely starring at their phones, and use them the old fashion way... just to make calls. These people will probably have a phone for a few more years before it randomly dies from some unexpected hardware failure, because the phones are built to last that long (Planned obsolescence - I'm looking at you Samsung Galaxy A-Series, and also you too Apple with your "Batterygate" scandal!"
Love your enthusiasm! Just bought this and will use on an upcoming vacation for photos and general use.

I got green line in my moto g52 and don't want to buy moto again..
My G84 has a better everything and is cheaper
G52 ranges between $250 and $350 depending on where you buy it, and compared to the G84 it has:
Slower screen - G52: 90Hz, G84: 120Hz
Dimmer screen - 700 nits vs 1300 nits
Worse Processor - 680 4G vs 695 5g
Less Storage - 128GB vs 256GB
Less RAM - 4GB vs 12GB
Worse Main Camera - No OIS
2MP macro camera vs 8MP macro
Cannot record video at 60 FPS
No 24-bit/182kHz Hi-Res Audio
Slower Bluetooth - 5.0 vs 5.1
No OUD Fingerprint Sensor
And no water resistant rating!
All of the wonderful features (or lack thereof) for up to $100 more money!!! But hey, at least you didn't spend over $1100 on that phone!
Also, thanks for commenting as it really helps out my channel. I appreciate you!
I don't have this issue for my G32, G82 and Edge 30. But I am aware that several users do encounter this problem.
Update issues
What does this mean? Are you asking if it has update issues? Or UA-cam is having an issue updating you when I post new videos?
The answer to the first question is no. I have gotten bi-weekly security updates when I am connected to Wi-Fi, and it upgraded to Android 14 as soon as I set it up. The answer to the second question is make sure to subscribe, ring the bell for notifications, and make sure that the UA-cam App's push notifications are not turned off or muted on your phone or computer.
@@IsItWorthIt3 What he means is, that Motorola only gives 2 years OS updates and 3 years security updates and that's it!
