I purchased my 2022 KIA K5 GT Line ( Permium Package ) Sept. 24th, 2021 ( Glacier White Pearl ). I absolutely love this car. Every time I drive it I like it more. The 1.6 liter Turbo has more than enough power to keep the Hondas, Bmws. and Mazdas at bay. The handling is super tight and responsive. One thing the guy didn't mention in the video. Is you can also shift manually. Put the car in Drive and push the shifter to the left and you're in Manual mode. Push the shift forward and you shift up gears. Pull back and it will downshift. I just found that out 2 days ago. The dealership never showed me that option. I just used the heated steering wheel and heated seats yesterday. A very cool bonus.

Hope you have good luck finding a good dealer! I would be so upset and not finalize on price if they went above MSRP
I worked with the dealer and asked if they do orders, and they said they did so went through them and selected everything I want. It will take 2-3 months but if you are able to wait it is worth it!

I want the exterior look (including fog lamps) and AWD of the GT-Line but the interior (e.g. ventilated seats, surround view monitor, etc.) of the EX. It’s mind boggling that the more expensive trim doesn’t have an AWD option. C’mon Kia! So much to love about the car but that’s just crazy to me.

My 17’ Optima has GOT to go lol. Really wasn’t looking for a KIA vehicle as my next car but the K5 really has had me on the fence for a few months. 😂 I’ll definitely be getting either the GT-line or EX.

Been hoping the '22s would get the all digital dash and premium sound in the GT-Line, but no such luck. That said, I'm coming from a 2 liter '16 Fusion Ecoboost AWD, and I know this has less power, but I'm all about the fuel economy, technology, and that style. This thing is sharp. I'll probably be swinging by before year's end to take one for a spin.

@@cbiser12 This is true. I'm thinking they will discontinue it and then bring it back in a few years, only as a Stinger enthusiast incentive. Kia really wants to go electric, so unfortunately the twin turbos are going to dwindle.
Traded the K-5 EX for the GT-Line which is a bit of a step down. But you'll get all-wheel drive added. As well as adaptive cruise which actually is kind of nice. You lose some of your premium interior trim. As well as ventilated seats which kind of burned a bit. But you can certainly get that stuff aftermarket now. Also lose the rear parking warning & parking accident avoidance. Almost feel is too much trim to lose for just getting a GT-Line. This should be standard equipment at this point. But you do get fog lights, Led headlights, heated mirrors, 360 camera & heated seats. As well as embeeded turn signals & heated steering wheel. The Flagship GT 2.5 probably would avoid until it gets AWD. Too much power in the engine to be putting into those front wheels. It's the only real fault I see of this line. Anyways great presentation as always. :)
How do you connect for wireless Apple Car Play? I heard you say all you have to do is connect to Bluetooth beforehand but I am seeing on my display to connect to USB and I’ve heard that the 10.25” screens are not compatible since they come with navigation as standard
You can't. Haha I really don't know why I said that. I think I just got excited because I want that to be a feature. You can only project apple car play using a compatible usb cable.
I've seen heated windshield and auto defog options on some Canadian videos for the GT-Line AWD models. Are those available or on the US models? Most reviews I see are just the FWD, so I thought it might be exclusive to AWD, with the assumption that you're wanting AWD because it snows a bunch where you are.
I am curious about snow mode. I saw where someone says that even though snow mode puts power equally to front and rear axles... for drag starts on dry pavement isn't good because in snow mode the power is decreased. I would like to know if that is true... Is power limited in snow mode compared to other modes?
It's a stock 6 speaker system. I think it sounds good for it being a stock system. I do wish Kia would have incorporated a better sound system in the GT-Line though. It would have been the cherry on top.

Those amber DRL’s are such a turn off & one of the main reasons I’ll hold off on a K5. I wouldn’t mind them as a turn signals, but DRL’s in white would be 🔥.
That's a damn good question. Kia has been focusing efforts on EV models and it's a good sign that the Sorento got a hybrid option. I'm guessing the K5 will get a hybrid option sooner than we think. I think they are trying to establish its' position in the lineup first.

Totally agree with you. Kia should have put a premium system in the GT-Line. It would have been the cherry on top. I don't own one, but I've had experience with them. I think the stock system is decent.

I had the EX for a time and it's actually pretty decent. Think you'll either get the Bose system or the Harman Kardon. Actually has a pretty good soundstage with a decent adjustment EQ. A lot better than I was expecting for a factory setup
I was actually really confused when I read this. You are right that is doesn't have the badge. We already sold the car, but I still have the window sticker. It was in fact the Gt-Line AWD. Ive been searching the internet trying to figure out what's the deal. I'm still scratching my head, but I'm 100% certain it was the AWD model. I'll ask around today and try to get to the bottom of it.
Ok, Ive watched a couple walkaround videos on the K5 GT-Line AWD. All of the ones I saw had just the GT-Line badge. It is very interesting I don't know why Kia changed that. Good eye dude 👍
I just picked this up over the weekend and that was a concern I had as well but the sticker does have it listed as AWD. Would’ve been nice to have the AWD badge as well.

@@uriel.campos Yeah premium package has the panoramic sunroof ! They changed up the AWD packages for 2022 to cheapen the price for AWD. If you want panoramic roof on the GT-Line for sure go with premium package.

Maybe they had the badge at the beginning of production and then phased it out. Personally, I wish they all had the badge.

@@AllThingsKiaCO Actually, I own a 2021 K5 GT LINE with premium package in passion red. I wouldn't have bought it if I wasn't impressed lol. I was just curious since after the full acceleration test, you didn't say anything about it. I think it's peppy enough, and I like the car fine.
@@johnfranklin5277 😂Yea, I was thoroughly impressed. I've kind of developed a brick face when I do acceleration tests. Your dialogue is better than what I said. "Peppy enough," is the perfect description for it.
Let me tell you,I have the 2022 K5 GTline and throttle acceleration is banging,you get the thrill of that throaty torque sound from the exhaust plus it will get up and go very quickly!

It is the AWD. For some reason, Kia decided to not put the AWD badge on the car.

@@hdnekemmkkwwkxmxkdkknxnxkd6549 Seriously? I am so confused. I don't think either one of us is wrong. I've had this question asked several times now on this video. I spent like an hour watching walkarounds of the same car and the videos I saw didn't have the AWD logo. We just received 5 on our lot and none of them have the badge. Maybe they had the badge at the beginning of production and then phased it out. Personally, I wish they all had the badge.
