- Since the reigning Miss Teen Umasofia Srivastava is stepping down, runner-up Stephanie Skinner would be the natural replacement. However, she's turning down the crown. “Something that I always will say comes before a crown is character, and my character will always be a priority to me,” Skinner says. Miss Teen USA and Miss USA both say they resigned because of a toxic environment at the Miss USA Organization, a claim the organization denies.

She mentioned that she will move abroad to Thailand in the summer to work as a research analyst.

@@joered4689 I rally for our young people, I really do. I've never been a big fan of Miss America though one of my best friends was Ms. Alaska at one time. I don't think these girls were in a toxic environment. Something seems off about this story and the way the girls were smiling seems unusual. I have 3 beautiful daughters btw, one about to graduate from lawyer school.
