- The boat that authorities say ran over and killed a teenage ballerina was found. Ella Adler was treading water while water skiing at a birthday party in Biscayne Bay when she was hit at high speed by a boat that did not stop to help her. The vessel was found docked outside a $4 million home inside a gated community in Coral Gables. An incident report obtained by Inside Edition identifies the boat's operator as Carlos Guillermo Alonso.

My cousin Christopher (only 7) passed of cancer on Father’s Day. It’s been really hard for my uncle on Father’s Day since then. He has other kids and still looks so broken every year. It’s been 15 years and my heart still breaks for him.

@@chryssesandchaos It's a criminal case and they aren't the Plaintiff, so they won't need a lawyer unless they take it to civil court afterwards to file for monetary relief. In a criminal court, where this will play out, it's the State vs. Defendant.

@@pedrodepacas9690 People do it all the time. It's pretty much allowed as long as there's no "no wake zone" signs. It's a 40ft boat with 4 350-400hp outboard motors, it makes sense if he didn't know he hit her. But obviously there's more to investigate
They need to check the 4 outboard motors for her D.N.A. Almost certain one of them were the cause of her death. Almost certain to prove he struck her. Those powerful motors wouldn't make the driver feel anything below possibly
The fact that people water ski on that part of the bay, puts him on notice to be on the lookout for downed water skiers. Operating a boat of that size by himself at a high rate of speed in the confines of a bay, he clearly was negligent.
It’s still sad but what makes me sick is that this news reporting and effort to find the suspect would have never happened if she wasn’t related to the elite

If the boat that was pulling her didn't have a flagged in the front of the boat and a flagged in the back of the boat when she can unattached from the rope to warn other boaters they had someone in the water,than the one driving the boat that was pulling her is liable for it

Even if he didn't realize he had hit someone, which is a stretch, he certainly couldnt ignore the news coverage specifically searching for the driver, and description of the vessel.
He is 80. He wasn't paying attention to the news like that. If he wanted to hide, he would have covered/hidden his boat.

The man who owns the home where investigators found a boat that they suspect struck and killed a 15-year-old Ransom Everglades student was behind the wheel at the time of the crash, according to a report released Wednesday by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Carlos Guillermo Alonso, 78, owns the Coral Gables home where the boat was docked behind when FWC agents seized the boat Tuesday afternoon. He was the only occupant in the boat at the time of the hit-and-run crash, the report said. (Miami Herald)
The report, released Wednesday, identified the operator as Carlos Guillermo Alonso, 78, of Coral Gables. The report states that Adler had been wakeboarding with someone else who was further away and both “fell off at different times/locations and both were in the water simultaneously.” Officials said they continue to investigate and have not announced whether Alonso will be charged; it’s not clear whether authorities have determined if he was even aware of the fatal crash.(Channel 10 News)
These boats have a similar device to a black box. They will know at what speed he was traveling. If he’s speeding he could still be charged with manslaughter.

If she didn't have the flag up that is in the boat, the red one. ( this is to show that someone on your boat is in the water) when she fell after skiing and is now just in the water, then he might have not seen her. This is then not his fault but her families fault or whoever was in her boat because they never indicated that someone was in the water.
Why mention that the elite school she was attending was $50,000? So irrelevant... Just say she went to an elite school...

This is just an awful tragedy. But this is the sad truth of being out on the water and especially tubing etc it’s a risk every time you go. Suns bright waters choppy pretty big boat I’m sure it’s not the easiest to see right in front of engines loud. If no one chased him down screaming I’m sure he had no clue. Now if he was going too fast for the area or something that’s a different story but I’m sure hitting someone with a big boat like that would be hard to notice. If it was as packed as that picture he 100% was being reckless driving as fast as they say he was. I’m just saying I don’t think it would be the easiest thing to notice on a boat in the ocean.
At this point is anyone sure this guy hit that girl? He looks really hunched over in the video. Thats a lot of boat for a guy that's having issues walking. The "water ski area" (not an official area) is north west of the Rickenbacker bridge. Next to the condos in Brickell. They may not been able to ski there because the water is shallow and the boat they were using was large. I don't see people using a boat that large to waterski so just that is unusual. I think there also needs to be some review of the operator of the boat the girl was on.
