First time watching your channel, very well done. Qantas have certainly cut costs, in the good old days there would have been a full tray, salad, main and dessert. Looking forward to your next trip report!
Thanks James, I appreciate your support. There’s definitely an accountant in charge of catering! I think they cut the whole concept of ‘dining’ in economy to be fair. Have a good day, and thanks for watching! Shane
The first qf flight I took was in 1995 on a 747, they gave out pre departure orange juice, meals were in ceramic with real cutlery and you had a glass for wine all in economy class!.....oh how times have changed......as well as fuel costs! Qf cut economy services to save weight and money.....those in the back of the bus recieve as little as possible these days....even with all the profits they make the ice creams they serve are paddle pops lol.
I hear you Johan, the paddle pops were a bit of a shock. I remember the little buckets of ice cream that were frozen in Antarctica too, it’d take you 2 hours to defrost them enough to chip off a mouthful.
Meals served in economy class is absolutely horrideous. They serve you the meal in a cheap plastic take away tray with garlic bread straight on top of the tin foil is classic. No way this will happen in any other non-budget airlines (EK/CX/SQ/QR/CI).

I agree, the way they’re presented can definitely be improved. It used to be a dining experience now it’s more like a school lunch.
