In this video I cover the story of Uldum. The initial state of Uldum and the establishment of the Forge of Origination. After that I go over the disappearance of Ra and the tol'vir visit of the mogu empire. This visit explains the transformation of the zone to what it is today. Lastly I cover the recent lore and the invasion of Al'Akir and his elementals. This video contains a mix of old warcraft lore and the new world of warcraft: chronicle volume 1 lore.

In addition to Silithus (and Ahn'Qiraj raids), Uldum is one of my favorite zones. I guess I love desert areas and ancient Egypt themed characters.

Uldum was a really nice zone to level in, definitely one of my favorites. The egyptian style of environment really gives off a certain vibe that made it very pleasant to level there.
+Glassland Yeah it's one of my favorite zones as well. I still remember how awesome it was when Cataclysm came out, the aesthetics, music and the general feel of the environment.
by far my favourite zone ! Mostly from aesthetic, but also the indiana jones-ish chain quest was sooo good !
This was interesting. I never knew about this battle. It'd be cool to learn about Ashenvale tho

Great Video as always! I've heard this story before and it's one of my favourites but I do have a questions about it. When the cloak fell revealing uldum to the world, why didn't they put it back up?
+ronkkrop Thanks. I'm not entirely sure as I did this questline about 5 years ago but as I can remember the cloaking was done through a device which was broken by the Shattering.

I played since vanilla beta and I ALWAYS tried to figure out how to get IN the gates/doors to Uldum. My main toon even got an odd drop item: "Uldum Plates". In a small caption it said:"To enter Uldum you need the Plates of Uldum". So I was enthralled and tried to open the doors. No luck. What was this item I fell upon for then? Grrrr.
The problem is the doors leading to Uldum, which is the land of the Titans, should feel more like the land of the Gods. To me that would be more like Mount Olympus. More like the Greek and Mediterranean lay of the land. Egypt just feels so empty and desolate to be the mighty land of the Titans. Titans (like Gods) should have a unfathomable kingdom to oversee. I know it used to be a lush jungle but even then.... Much to be left to the imagination with the addition of Uldum to Kalimdor. I love Egypt but as a questing area it is stupid and baron.
Kind of last minute esign feeling to me. Blizzard didn't think this one over very long imho.
We gotta defeat the pleague lords from saviors of uldum, the league of Explorers needs your help.

My second favorite zone in all of wow! after Grizzly hills. wish there were more Egyptian styled zones. BTW is it me or are you talking slower in your videos?
+Dev Lightning It isn't really talking slower, it's just editing the audio a bit better. Since I cut out breathing sounds, the natural breathing pauses are gone. Now I split the audio and make the pauses but before I use to just use the audio as 1 chunk which made everything seem faster.

+Digital Evolution This is just guesswork, but considering that the elementals of Draenor (the furies) are a lot more friendly with each other, it might indicate that there is no world-soul, since one of the hallmarks of a world soul is that the element of spirit is absorbed by it, causing elementals to fight each other, if I have understood the Chronicle correctly.
So, the MoP came after Cata, is the MoP lore is written before or something, I am a bit confused
