Because most of those BuJo broads just waste their -and their viewers' - time with superficial shit like tape, stickers, and other crap no sane person would think about. They're not journaling, they are actively procrastinating and hide their procrastination under layers of "oh I just made my shitty notebook sooooo pretty".

I appreciate the point is to be more productive and not worrying about decorating. i just started but became a little overwhelmed with all design elements i was seeing on youtube and pinterest. although i will get bored with the minimal look after a while - i look colors and dedigns - but it's good to just start minimal and then throw in designs in later months after having learned the true rapid journaling intent. thank you i have to remember that this month. also going to add that week work block tp incorporate school classes, etc.

Friends. Why the mania? Would this not subject one to just another regiment? Should the notebook/field journal not be a lean and mean tool? I mean - it's is pretty n all. Just pointing out the utilitarian purpose of the paper - pen combo. Jot down what you need to do. Want to do. Note when complete - plan no more than 3 months ahead. Past three months is things of dreams. Next 90 days are NOW. Push, harder and again. Get tough. Make it happen. Use tools.

It took me awhile to get into bullet journaling because it always seemed like something made for creative artsy-tumblr-like girls. I started journaling mid-2018 & kept it strictly for productivity so it’s quite minimalistic. As a working college student, efficiency is one of my main priorities and I’m so happy I gave journaling a chance and found what works for me. I’m definitely going to look into the 10 block work week setup, thanks 👍🏽

@Paul Stejskal I'm not sure I'd want people to see what I wrote, just the basic layout, and that could be explained with words. If some people are watching on giant screen TV's they probably can see it. I get what you mean though, lot of people say "as you can see here..." when we CAN'T see. So it'd be nice if they either held it closer to the camera, or explained what was on the page, like upper left corner, and so on.

Great video! I really like your journaling style. I love watching different bullet journal videos from the most minimal to the most artsy. After reading through the comments I did want to point out that even artsy bullet journals can be productive. Pretty and productive does not have to be mutually exclusive. Productivity has nothing to do with how a journal looks and everything to do with how you spend your time. Someone spending two hours one day a month making pretty, artsy, bullet journal pages doesn't mean they aren't being productive the rest of the month.

I gave this video a Like the moment you said you have a page dedicated to scripture and that it is powerful. I don't preach, I'm not always talking about the Bible, but I'm a believer and I love that you said it on your video. A lot of people show pride and demand respect for their choices, their lifestyles, the way they’re born etc and I think it's great that Christians can ask for the same respect for our beliefs. Thanks for including that moment in your video. You could've left it out but you didn't. That's powerful ❤️ If we deny Him, He will deny us.

I made them on grid paper so I could check off the items from the huge list daily. For the last few years I’ve been buying cheap 5x7 spiral notebooks and keeping tract of my life. I just heard about bullet journals and I’m afraid I’ll get lost in the “art” of it. But thank you for the help. Yours looks great. 5:08 Ironically, Spencer shows us on his Daily Habits page why habits are tough to keep. Imagine trying to add 10 new daily habits into your already busy life. It's tough.. so if I can give any advice, based on past experience and this video, try and do maybe 2 new daily habits for a month. Do that until they don't feel like something on a checklist, they just feel like your daily life. Once you're at that stage then add another new habit and so forth.

I really enjoyed this, especially the last part where you remind people to keep their intentions for their own journal in mind. E.g. my own reasons are leaning towards "finding a reason to do less on a screen and more with my hands (and all the various papercraft stuff I assembled over time) while filling the day", so I enjoy the artsy doodle tutorials you find everywhere a lot... but it is an important reminder that art isn't (usually) all there is to it. I like how you seem to incorporate a lot of Rydell's original way of bujos while also using some of the other things in a way that suits yourself. Combining two camera views is also a nice touch to make the video more... personal in a way? You keep doing your thing, it's great.

When I saw that a guy was doing a planner/journaling post, I couldn't click on it any faster. I've been looking on YT and Pinterest for ideas and I like both the colourful planners as well as the minimalist and neutral look so I think I'm gonna have to try it out and go from there and fine tune/customize it to my style and preference. I'm definitely going to use your habit tracker which I'll include my projects. And yes my planner would be a mix of planner as well as artistic but I will put a time limit (say 1hr max) thanks dude for yr vid and suggestions 👍

Man, I'm so glad I found this video. I actually stopped using my bullet journal last summer because I kept getting bogged down with making it pretty and aesthetically pleasing that it wasn't productive at all. But this video really focused on productivity unlike a lot of other videos where the design aspect is the focus, and it's inspired me a lot. I might actually resurrect my bujo during the summer. The Scripture page is pretty cool, I wanna do that with Qur'an verses. Also, the week 10 block system seems really cool! I don't have a use for it right now, but imma keep it in mind for the summer if I need it.

@@SpencerScottPugh I'm not at all shocked that you've gotten comments about copying the Scripture page. Many muslims are taught to memorize the Qur'an at a very young age. I used to have a third of it memorised before I fell out of practice back in high school. A memorization page would definitely help in getting back into the habit ^_^

I just started my bullet journal today. I have just the index and future log done, but tomorrow I will make the monthly log and daily log, plus maybe a few extra pages for different things like the habit tracker and a food log. I like the idea for doing scripture memory in the bujo. I am trying the bujo to hopefully make myself more productive and organized. Pretty much nothing has worked so far, but I like this because you can customize it and change it as you go. I don't like using most systems. Whenever I use an app or software for productivity, I want to do things that aren't possible within that system. With the bujo, I can do whatever I want with it. Hopefully this one sticks and it will help me.
