What your company produces is not the nessisarly the value of the company. Any money given away could be counted as charity and non taxable income and usually isn't reported with a companies total net worth.
As of November of 2022 he has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of wire fraud and money laundering to the investigation headed by the IRS, FBI, and DOJ. Depending on sentencing he faces up to 20 years in prison so this story does have a happy ending at least

The sad thing is, he could have gotten away with it by actually following through on a few giveaways. Just give a few thousand here and there to disguise his scam, but he was too greedy to even do that much.

That’s the crazy thing. He could have done this legitimately. Just say. “I’ll take 5 random order confirmation numbers and put $1k in that order. You just have to spend x amount on your order to apply”. He still would have made money off of that. Not nearly as much but it would have been legit.

I feel like this still violates some type of sweepstakes law in the US. That’s why most commercials would say “no purchase necessary” to win. But I’m not entirely sure.

I personally don't care if he did. I read his book and it gave me a new perspective. I changed some life habits and have since become financially secure. I now have multiple income streams and don't have to worry about my future. Without readig his book, I may have reached the same goals but not nearly as fast.

Most people would say someone even dumber, but I don't think that's always true. The type of people that fall for scams like these are people that are in a desperate financial situation, where even though they are skeptical, give themselves no choice to miss out because they want to believe it's true, that they can have enough to pay their bills and feed their family for months if they just buy a few t-shirts.

The FTC clarified that real sweepstakes don't charge, because if they did charge it would not be a sweepstakes anymore, it would be a lottery/gambling.

Alternatively, maybe they realize that their math doesn’t work out but insofar as any customer doesn’t realize the same, it’s easy money coming from someone who probably lacks the wherewithal to get it back from him. It is extremely difficult to recoup losses from fraud of any kind. Not true at all ... From working in corporate retail mgmt in my 20s, Paramus Park is one of the Top 10 Malls in the entire country. The sheer amount of volume they did, and the type sales (high dollar purchases, very low return rates) is crazy indicative of $$$$$$. There's more malls and luxury shopping in the Paramus area, even more so than Beverly Hills and NYC.

Not on this guys side but this is flawed logic. The millionaires that own mcdonald’s in low income neighborhoods obviously do not live there. The store is actually located in Garden State Plaza mall, which is a nice mall very wealthy neighborhoods around i know this because i live in the area.

Agreed. I regularly give to non profit charities. Granted, most of the time its smaller amounts, but I don't plaster it.on social media.
I never give money to homeless in traffic. They usually use it to buy whatever drug got them in that situation. I’ll offer them food if I have some. What good is giving to the homeless when they won’t do anything to better their situation? They just ask for money even if you give them a $100 bill they’ll still be at that same traffic light asking for more.

@@cewic4909 nah most of the times homeless people want money to drink alcohol or to smoke something. Everyone in that situation has a vice that got them there. Most of the times it’s drugs. You must live in a nice area to not know that. I lived around crack heads, drug addicts, strippers, the ghetto my whole life. So many people are deep in a hole of drugs. You never know their stories but they are definitely addicted to something.

I walked near a mcdonalds and went to buy some nuggets and a homeless person said they were starving so I asked them to wait because I’ll be right back. I came back with an extra 20 nuggets and a drink and they told me they didn’t want mcdonalds and asked for money instead lol
