This song makes me happy yet sad at the same time. Brian finally gets the peace he wanted but at the same time had to leave his new friends and his love. I never expected to ship Brian and Brooke as they never had a romance in the book but the musical made me fall in love with the pairing.
Agreed. Brian knew this was his only chance to find peace and say farewell to the girl he came to love. Otherwise, he would have waited all alone for another chance while Brooke moves on with her life and forgets him. At least here he goes out doing what he wanted to do all those years ago. But, in bittersweet irony, this also means leaving his 'Esmerelda' as well. Glad Brian understands she has her whole life to live and doesn't try to force Brooke to stay with him or even join him as a ghost. This is his final curtain. His swansong. And he performs every moment with all the heart and talent that had tragically been denied for so long.
Man, this is so SAD and HEARTBREAKING!!!😢💔It really makes me wanna bawl me eyes out!😭😭😭 Brian didn't deserve to die like that! At least, he's finally able to play the role he was meant to play before his untimely death. But it's a real shame he had to leave his new love behind. So tragic!😭
0:25 I question how no one found the Phantom's body all those years ago. Heck, I question why they didn't find a skeleton down there in the modern day. Surely the school would have checked under the stage to find him. Was it like a Star Wars Force Ghost kind of event where his body just faded away as he fell and that's why nobody was found?

I like to think that now he got what he wanted and waited to do for many years, he’s at peace now.
