      Glad it was helpful! Many anglers get stuck in the trap of using the same method over and over again. Having a few different ways to target fish can be really handy. Also catching fish with plastics is addictive. Good luck out there, hope these tips continue to help.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  3 роки тому

      Nah its still closed off. Its such a sad situation, as it was a great land based fishing spot. Especially when you consider the only pier between port melb and geelong accessible for people is Altona which is always packed with swimmers and walkers. There isnt enough land based infrastructure on this side of town for fishos like us. It was closed aparently due to fishing lines getting tangled with the boats and yachts that pay to be there, the litter, some threats to security guards patroling the areas. Apparently one was threateend at knife point. And the clincher was a law suit when a lady fell and did her leg.

    Hey mate been goin after flathead eagerly the last few months and have landed way too many, some in the 70s and 60s.. but my last 3 sessions I have been dropping so many fish. I record on gopro so I went back and checked to see if I was doing something differently when reeling in and to be honest it all looks the same.. Even the fish i've recently landed. the hook just easily pops out. My mate recommends loosing up the drag but then I feel like there will be a lack of tension.. is my hook set not hard enough? I've been using the berkley jigheads but maybe switching to the tt finesse hooks might penetrate the fishes mouth better. Lost an abseloute monster this morning, hook just popped right out under the kayak. Frustrating times haha!
