  • Getting your guard passed sucks. The problem is that we tend to fight hard to prevent it from happening, only to be exhausted, mentally and physically, when and if it happens. But, by prioritizing your tactics for guard play, guard retention and pass prevention in early to late stages, you can take some of the stress and exhaustion out of the process. In this video, I try to offer some solutions for that process. Hope it helps.

    Fantastic video! I used to really like the gogoplata when working guard retention. Might have to pull it back out and start using it again!

    Thank you for sharing, this is super helpful! Could you please show us the head and arm triangle from different positions or baseball choke from different positions?

    On that first sweep, why wouldn't you use your arm to clear the post (similar to a hip bump from guard) rather than hugging around the back?

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  Рік тому +2

      Good question - hugging the back vs blocking the post exposes less of the back during the transition and creates a tighter connection.

    Is there a gi version? Thanks

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  8 місяців тому +1

      Anything you can do without the gi, you can do with the gi. The same isn’t necessarily true in reverse.

      @@KnightJiuJitsu thank you, so does this mean if i wore a Gi i need to grapple the sleeve instead of holding the wrist?
