I should have tried this sooner. I have a microwave with air fryer function. Spots were pretty built up so I doubled the amount of vinegar and steamed for 10 min. Since inside is darker color, some oily marks are still visible, but most residues are gone and completely removed the odor. Thanks!

This worked great, I got an old microwave, and it was *very* dirty. It was stains that wouldn't come out no matter how hard you scrubbed, I found this trick and used it (majority vinegar, less water) in a regular old mug and put it in for just 5 minutes since I thought 10 was a little much. Bam! Stains were coming off without effort, sure some needed a bit more scrubbing effort than others, but it ended up in an amazing clean and fresh smelling microwave! TYSM! 😊❤

Tip for people that are sensitive to smell, dilute this with water(50/50). I'd say you'd need a little more elbow grease, but I am VERY sensitive to smell, and using only vinegar makes it impossible for me to handle working with.

Today I saw a comment somewhere that if you cover your dish , you don't get dirty microwave at all to be cleaned later. Now I remember what are those popping sounds from microwave , those are your food splashing all over the inside of microwave and making it dirty. Today I cleaned my microwave and cooked a meal of stew in it ciovered with a glass plate. after it was done ,I didn.t see even a single spot in microwave , all shiny surfaces. Thanks for that comment I saw. Btw leave the microwave door open when not in use , it stops getting mold or smelly

Just make sure you get the metal pieces that break off out of the microwave before use. . . .used a regular dish towel after to wipe off as well. Simple as can be wish I would of made video of before and after. .. . Amazing. Thanks for the video. Other videos had me mix water with vinegar maybe that was part of the issue

I used a cup of 30% vinegar (says industrial strength on it), I did not realize how much stronger than standard vinegar it was and when I put a cup of it in for 10 minutes the kitchen smelled so strongly of vinegar I had to turn on the fan to make it bearable to get back in the kitchen to finish cleaning, the smell burned my nose and throat a little. But my microwave was really dirty and is now very clean, but I am still coughing out the vinegar fumes.

I utilized this method today when cleaning my parent’s microwave (which they admitted hadn’t been cleaned in a good year or so) for them and though all the stuck on/burnt on food and odors have now vanished, I am left with some pretty significant staining still. Think nicotine stains on white walls if that helps; there’s this rich yellowish/brown staining that remains and I’ve no idea how to get the microwave back to its natural whiteness. Have you any tips for this? I’d be sooo grateful! Love the channel by the way, you’re just awesome ❤️

Nice video and hey guys, thanks for all the tips. I hadn't cleaned my micro for about a year - adds a sense of mystery to my cooking. Hope I don't get famous.
Anyway I did much the same procedure with vinegar, water and a few slices of lemon for 8 minutes a try. Took three tries. Worked pretty good, I'm a bachelor cook so sometimes the food comes out different anyways.
But I make a super hot Mexican salsa so it don't really matter. Take any food and put some of my special salsa on top. Take take a few shots of Tequila and you will understand everything. (Except maybe how to pick up chicks.) Makes Einstein look like a simpleton though.

I did this to clean but mostly to get the a bad smell out. The vinegar exploded at 3 minutes. After hearing the big pop sound I stopped it and started wiping down. The gunk came off but I could of done that with heated water. I was hoping it would get the smell out but sadly it made it worse. Plus, the fumes made it hard to breath and stunk up my whole apartment.

My nephew used duct tape, NOT the silver tape but one that obviously was not metallic in any way. He says it works great, and in addition his microwave is so old the the microwave rusted in the circular track where the wheels rotate. My sister found an ice cream lid that was the same diameter/width and he trimmed it to a shorter height and used it. I forget whether he put tape on the lid but I think he said he did. Also, if it gets worn, you can make a new one. (He is really fond of this microwave 😂).

@@AndreaJean i just got done doing my bathroom with your shaving cream and oxy powder hack... i sprayed the shaving cream everywhere.... all over the toilet inside out and did my floor lol then took just a bit of the oxy powder and put that inside toilet with the shaving cream n let it sit a good 10-15 min if not a bit longer... im a clean freak so wasn't that bad today but wow omg smells good for sure with no harsh chemicals and did a bit better job than the store cleaning products that are out there ..I've always used bathroom cleaner or an all purpose cleaner with bleach and let me tell you by the time i'm even done that stuff is stuck in my nose awhile and makes my eyes all burning and watery lol..... this was a great cleaning hack i woulda never even thought of to try or do..... every other clean or so i'll do the vinegar and baking soda cause it's also good for clogged drains or so drains don't get clogged up which i do that monthly.... ill def be cleaning my bathroom like this for now on .... 😁😁 thanks again for the videos and how too they are awesome

To begin with your microwave is CLEAN...mine is a disaster...but I'll try your vinegar agent on my microwave...in fact it's in my microwave now!!!

So I can use regular cooking vinegar or do I need the cleaning one you have, and is it five minutes on high?

If your microwave is dirty how long do you recommend microwaving the vinegar?

It would’ve been more effective if you started with a dirty microwave but good advice I’m trying it as I type this thank you
