How this song relates to the lore of Armory Wars: The first three paragraphs of this song detail Mayo's interrogation of Sizer. He is an IRO-bot, a robot, so instead of just killing him, Mayo literally chops his limbs off with a chain saw - "sever the limbs from his torso." I saw these guys twice in the mid to late 00’s. First show they were like statues on stage, no showmanship. Sounded good though. Second show was in a smaller venue and they sounded great and put in a show that floored the previous one. I’ll always cherish this band as a stalwart of my early 20’s
Claudio is on to something here...when he says pull the trigger and the nightmare stops, forever you will run. ...I have tried to kill myself so many times and my father actually did but I was in a mental hospital after an attempt once and there was a video shown to us where people experienced the after life and one lady tried to take a bunch of pills to kill herself and she saw someone on the other side that told her that if she kept trying to kill herself ( and succeed ) then she would have to start over and over and over never achieving the peace of death and the after life . So this song is really giving the best advice ever, don't pull the trigger basically. And I, of all people, would love for that to be the answer in ending our living nightmares but for me I found the right meds, finally, after 25 years but anyways, don't give up and stay strong, my friends...just thought I could help someone with that story...♡♡♡
Raises the question about art imitating life vs. life imitating art. "Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops." On the surface, it could be about suicide, yet the main character in the Amory Wars story is a kind of cyborg with a gun for one of his arms. He is prophesied to use that gun against the corrupt rulers of his world. Still, he's got major baggage from the fact that his father (Coheed) murdered his two siblings (Maria and Matthew) at the beginning of the story. So at whom does he pull the trigger? Himself or his foes? Could just be me reading too much into it but I think this is a metaphor for real life. When things are so bad that there appears to be no way out, where do you direct the aggression? Do you destroy yourself or do you make a stand against the things in the world around you (and within you for that matter) that have created the dark circumstances? Considering how the story actually ends, I think this song is actually very uplifting and hopeful: "We'll fix him, restore him." "Write them in a letter that says reborn."
+Ronn Fontana Apparently this particular song was about (and please forgive me that I forget a lot of the characters names this is about, it's been a while since I read up on all chronicle behind the music) the cyborg friend of Claudio being tortured, dissembled with a chain saw limb by limb, discarded in an ally, found by Claudio, Claudio and Ambellina fighting over rebuilding him, Claudio rebuilding him, and then him being haunted by his torture experience. "Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops" is apparently a reference to him begging for death well being tortured which is what haunts him most after having been rebuilt. So he's hearing himself yell that at his torturer over and over again and he relives the memory. This is how this song is generally theorized to be part of the story behind the Coheed and Cambria cannon at least.
Ronn Fontana "Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops" was Sizer's last words before Deftinwolf shot him in the head after torturing him by cutting him to pieces. The Rest is Claudio restoring him back to together.
I got a house in Long Island City God I got a house and park it everything it's beautiful this is when I first heard Coheed and Cambria and you know what I'm from old school but I recognize Talent when I see it and his music and his band's music helped me through the most difficult times in my entire life that's the music
I love the extended outro and it's lead riff so much that i didn't even notice the lyrics were so emo until my sister said something. Lol. I was like "oh, I mostly listen to guitar because I play it."
Not gonna make up an excuse and just fucking say I should have this album. I like C&C the more I hear their songs and I like the fact that I have not heard all of their music. Thank you for making such great music C&C this song was a gem.
Think of all the gravity bong hits to the marijuana! I played this cd of my RCA 3-CD changer w/ the remote control back in 2004. When I was a Jr. In high school.
Fun fact: there’s an advisory next to the lyrics of this in the lyric booklet that comes with the cd that essentially states “yo this is part of a fictional story and not meant to be taken serious”
i remembered today being at a group event with my parents for people with disabilities and my dad telling me not to identify people by races or disabilities and thought about how great the world is also the vocals plus some of the words and remembered reading one of the amory wars novels, hardback and being intoxicated with pleasure so glad for my heroes
When blood red summer came out I had a really fantastic high-performance car and I it just fit the music and it's nothing to do with hurting anybody or anything like this
"You'll listen to reason while you're face down in the dirt" for the longest time I thought he was saying "You'll listen to reason HE'S UP while you're face down in the dirt". but he actually holds the word 'reason' for two extra syllables to turn it into 'rea-ee-son'. fucked me up for the longest time because i would read the lyrics with the song and sing the next words too early.

I saw these guys twice in the mid to late 00’s.
PULL THE TRIGGER AND THE NIGHTMARE STOPS
One of the best endings ever... Such a good rhythm and then the leads are so perfect... And the fade out is a bold choice.
Now tell me Coheed and Cambria isn’t heavy.

Love so much this song!!!!
This COULD be the best song EVER written.
Considering how the story actually ends, I think this song is actually very uplifting and hopeful:
"We'll fix him, restore him."
"Write them in a letter that says reborn."
you know the comics well, props
bit late, but isn't it coheed as the beast who has the gun for an arm?
Ronn Fontana
"Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops" was Sizer's last words before Deftinwolf shot him in the head after torturing him by cutting him to pieces. The Rest is Claudio restoring him back to together.
Ronn Fontana bro so good got it tattooed on my fingers about 5 years ago best quote ever under rated song for sure

I love this song :')
Thats Neat Thank You appulman
My dad saw their band play for hot water music in the 2000’s, I wish I could’ve been there
i remembered today being at a group event with my parents for people with disabilities and my dad telling me not to identify people by races or disabilities and thought about how great the world is also the vocals plus some of the words and remembered reading one of the amory wars novels, hardback and being intoxicated with pleasure so glad for my heroes
The reused the melody from the end of this song on "The Suffering"
Not really? They're in different keys and have different rhythms, but yeah they both go 5-maj7-1 in the melody, so sure, I guess?
"Pull the trigger and the *nightmare* stops"
Idk why most people don't realize that as melodic and awesome as their music is, the lyrics normally don't rhyme in their songs
Friends spent working till the end of shift change 🤘

When blood red summer came out I had a really fantastic high-performance car and I it just fit the music and it's nothing to do with hurting anybody or anything like this
"You'll listen to reason while you're face down in the dirt"
for the longest time I thought he was saying "You'll listen to reason HE'S UP while you're face down in the dirt". but he actually holds the word 'reason' for two extra syllables to turn it into 'rea-ee-son'.
fucked me up for the longest time because i would read the lyrics with the song and sing the next words too early.
+Chaster Mief nice name
+Chaster Mief I used to think he was saying "You'll listen to Reed, he's up..."
