Interms of development china is way ahead of the west in it's entirety frankly speaking china is leading in all aspects I would consider it as first world period.
China is still a developing (transitioning) country due to its very large population and geographical size. While its first tier cities are first world, its second tier cities are second world and remote towns and villages are third world. It’s impossible to transform a third world country into a first world country all at once for a massive country like China but the pace of its transformation (and continuing) is remarkable and unprecedented. Despite the demonization of China govt from US and its allies West (mostly from jealousy of China incredible progress), China govt is doing great job and Chinese should be proud of their govt. Sure there are bad and corrupted govt officials in China govt that Chinese have to deal with but all countries govt have their share of bad and corrupted officials so China is not unique with this problem. The bad and corrupted officials will be caught sooner or later.
@CTHN7 With all due respect I value your opinion but by all standards china to date is way ahead interms of development the west in it's entirety is now lagging behind.
@@timothyallindi4372 I agree with you China current infrastructure developments utilize the latest and the best technologies available thus is ahead of the West in this regard. There are things in China you don’t see in the West that Chinese enjoy and are affordable to.
The fact that a well known talented architect by name Zaha Hadid, an Iraqi British contributed to building this marvel of infrastructures is of tremendous value. I love and enjoy to see all her great works!!!!!
I have been involved with the logistics of transport all my life and when China started her HSR projects one after another, we often read of the doomsdays for the crazy Chinese based simply on the Western bankers' conception of ROI notwithstanding that she keeps on expansion of her HSR links across the nation. WB often measures the efficiency of a nation logistics performance based on logistics cost against its GDP. In the case of China, she had a 29.2% of logistics costs against her GDP in early 90s and today that percentage had dropped to 14% of her GDP. This simply means based on her current GDP of US$18.8 trillion, she had actually saved some US$ 2.8 trillion in national saving annually. This is where china differs from the so-called democratic nations whose main interests rest with the individual capitalists of the nation whereas in China, the national long term interests are their target.
