Just such a blessing to be able to listen to this group of men. I'm so thankful Alistair Begg mentioned the old hymns. Most written by those who knew great suffering. They are so full of wisdom. I use an old and much worn The Believers Hymn Book published by Pickering & Inglis London-Glasgow with my morning devotionals. No music in it just the hymns numbered and written plainly on the pages. ? At 50 min. mark, the question was, what happens to the Holy Spirit when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death? What is his role? I believe that he shields and comforts our spirit so that we can see, feel, and hear God's presence all around us.
At about the 28 min mark they start talking about holiness. There was a fundamental question they forgot to ask. What is holiness? What does it really mean? Begg talks about shops not being open on Sundays but is that holiness? Look at Jesus, he went to the pub and got soundly criticized by the Pharisees. None of them mentioned the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians. If we can increase and ask God to increase our fruit, which is love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Gal 5:21-22 That answers the questions about holiness, it is not about shops or football on Sundays.
Stefan Bach you missed the point entirely. The fact that shops are open on sundays shows the disregard to holiness, the fact that you’re supposed to be separate from the world and put aside for God. Holy means “put aside for God”. Today’s Christians have adopted the unholy practices of the world and have been put aside for Satan.
Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD. For the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them and consumed SOME in the outskirts of the camp. Then Moses heard the people weeping throughout THEIR families. Everyone @ the door of His tent. And the anger of the LORD was GREATLY aroused. Moses also was displeased.
God is rejoice! Trust us care! Stand in our saviour! Trust is rejoice! Trust is salvation. Tell the man who yelled at the boy who played with a ball. Far right as I see it, on panel! Blessed be the name of Christ! Rejoice! Speak to God in the holy commandments of the Lord. Lord saviour! Rejoice!
Not taking an opinion either way, but John MacArthur's answer (at around 16:00) about the hebrews verse "the holiness without which no one will see the Lord" is a totally different interpretation from how Kevin Deyoung (also reformed) sees that verse. Deyoung argues it's not the imputed righteousness of christ but practical holiness

Love listening to these famous and remarkable theologians discuss matters of theology amongst themselves and other students about the Nature and Plans of GOD. However, when I get to The Kingdom of Heaven, I don’t expect to have to pass a test in order to enter or stay. I may be wrong, but I am a Child of GOD and Father hasn’t revealed all to me yet.
Excellent men
Amen and Amen
Trust us our saviour! Rejoice!
? At 50 min. mark, the question was, what happens to the Holy Spirit when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death?
Gal 5:21-22
That answers the questions about holiness, it is not about shops or football on Sundays.
Boats and you haven’t answered my question on what is holiness.
Interesting. They seem to be philosophers. 44:24 What about the work of the ministry of Christ?
Ligonier is all I trust on this planet
Well, that’s heretical.
Reformed Forum is also excellent.
Good morning, it is possible to get your videos with spanish subtitles?
Thanks. God bless you
Follow all that Jesus was, He should be our very best role model in life.
Margaret Macleod The problem is that people only see a loving Jesus, there is no Justice, or curse with their Jesus.
Though I pray he halts my sinning and purifies my trust.
Great point by Begg around 21:00
The glory of God is seen in the face of Jesus Christ We see God's Face in Christ
It reminds me of "moral government theogy' that was taught in ywam when I was there in 1988.
I see there is a drum kit behind the panelists. I wonder if it bothered MacArthur and Sproul, haha.
Why would they be bothered about that?
Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD. For the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them and consumed SOME in the outskirts of the camp.
Then Moses heard the people weeping throughout THEIR families. Everyone @ the door of His tent.
And the anger of the LORD was GREATLY aroused. Moses also was displeased.
Amen
Name of the hymn at 43:10 approximately
Stand in trust is salvation
Does anyone else think Alistair Begg looks like Paul McCartney.
Natalie McGuiness
I think that ALL the time😀
@KTTGHMTJWYCBLAC you're funny.
He created rejoice!
God is rejoice! Trust us care! Stand in our saviour! Trust is rejoice! Trust is salvation. Tell the man who yelled at the boy who played with a ball. Far right as I see it, on panel! Blessed be the name of Christ! Rejoice! Speak to God in the holy commandments of the Lord. Lord saviour! Rejoice!
I want to believe rejoice is our happiness. So believe in trust. Try speaking to God and believe he can hear you and stand!
How far back do you have the Ligonier Conferences on UA-cam?
