  • I lusted over the Beis Weekender Bag for a while but decided not to buy it. And I was so glad I didn't get the bag after my recent trip to Spain. I'm going to go through my reasons in this video. I would love to know if you have one, and how do you feel about the bag.

I heard in order for it to fit under the seat you have to take the bottom part off, which is the part most people like because yes, they can put their shoes in it. Oh well. The convertible one is the only one that allows the bottom to come off. I too was interested but I heard it’s heavy and it won’t fit under seat unless you take the bottom off, which could be used as a packing cube inside your luggage. I decided on a backpack by Portland Gear.

I've had the mini convertable weekender in black for about a year and I love it. The convertable style allows you to fully remove the bottom compartment so it'll fit as a personal item on flights. And the canvas is pretty durable consodering i tend to throw the bag around.
The weekender...is a no for me personally. I love that its bigger, but the inside isn't wipeable the way the convertable is. The inner pockets and laptop aleeve felt really flimsy and I knew I'd accidently tear them in under a year. The hardware also felt cheaper, more plastic-y then metal. I liked the plaid print, but the canvas was softer? It didnt feel coated or treated to be the same level of durability as my black one.
If you like and are okay with the weekender shape and sizes, id reccomend the convertsble version over the original. It just feels more long weaeing

Thank you for the review. I was ready to buy beis today to travel Under the seat, it's very important that it fits. If not, there will be a upgrade charge to me.

How is your weekender when traveling abroad with your carry-on?

I have the Lo & Sons Catalina Deluxe and smaller Catalina Deluxe tote, which is the exact same style as the Beis weekender with the bottom shoe compartment. I agree that the structure makes is very limiting and I don’t use them as often as I should

I wanted to buy the lo and sons deluxe tote but it’s a lot more expensive compared to Beis. The tote alone is $200ish and even with a sale it’s like $145 plus 10$ shipping. I do love the look and like that it’s lighter weight, but it’s pretty pricey. I’m still deciding on my perfect personal item….

I had your same reservations when researching bags. So I avoided Beis. Then I received a weekender as a gift, and no surprise… It’s way too heavy, too stiff, and I hate the bottom separation. I won’t even bother trying to fly with it.

Let’s be fair, the BEIS mini weekender is the only bag that will fit under most aircraft seats. I’m surprised anyone would consider the ‘larger’ weekender as an underseat contender - it’s clearly way too big and should not be considered for comparison.
I urge you to do your research and actually try out the mini weekender and update your review accordingly.

I totally agree with buying things that influencers share. I fell for the Always Pan and I hate it. Thankfully I bought it when it was on sale but I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND it to any of my friends.

I never understood the hype about BEIS, they always looked super cheap to me. Tumi and Away are my go to for travel!

💯! I Just did a detailed review of 7 carry on suitcases. I struggled with Beis’ size and weight 😢

The BÉIS weekender is not intended to be used as a carryon , the mini-weekender is. I agree though that it’s too heavy & impractical so I wouldn’t want it as an overnight bag either.
