    Good review Joe. I appreciate that you don't just gush praise. Keeping it real with the good and bad has more credibility. Thanks

      Thanks Mark, I appreciate it. I am still using this light by the way but I have long since lost that rubber cap for the usb port. In doing so, you can see circuitry so it kills it's water resistance as far as submersion goes. That said, this light is still most used EDC light.

    Actually, instead of a keychain light, I can see it used as a Necker, especially around a Base Camp or an Emergency Event like a Tornado. Wouldn't have to worry about if the Cold has sapped your Juice since it's next to your body instead of being in an outer pocket of a pack. I can also see it dangling from your Car's Rear View Mirror on a length of Bank Line. Think "Feral" for how to use it.

      It would definitely work as a necker, no problem. Good observation :)

    Interesting.
    I've been carrying around the flashlight you did a video on from Gearbest.. and it's been great.
    Thanks for the video

    Joe , I have the Manker U11. I want to love this light. Over 1000 lumens, USB rechargeable. small for a 18650 light. But I charged it 3 or 4 times with the usb port and the entire port and led now float around inside the head, very disappointing. I also have the nitecore TIP, 360 lumen "key-chain" light. Its absolutely fantastic. The floody beam is amazing

      Have you contacted them? I can't really say for sure outside of mentioning is the guy I've been talking back and forth with has been extremely friendly and seems very willing to help. Their customer service just might replace it for you. In fact, I am pretty curious if they will. I'll check out that nitecore, thanks for the suggestion!

      Well I did contact them, My light is only about 5 month's old and when I contacted them at first,they weren't going to do anything, they said contact gearbest because I bought it there, Gearbest said no warranty and didn't have any left to exchange and offered like 10 or twenty dollars in credit! Then I told Manker that It didn't matter where I bought it, they made it and should stand behind there product. I said if I bought Ford used from a Chevy dealer and it was still under fords warranty, then they would fix it no questions asked. They still grumbled. So I said well I'll just make a youtube video about how bad they're customer service is and they dont stand behind they're products like thrunite would. Then they said well send it to us and we'll see what we can do. I haven't sent it yet. I don't know how much it's going to cost to ship it to China?

    I really like that form factor for a key chain light. It would definitely have a place in my EDC. The concerns you raise would not be a concern for me as I would be carrying something else as my main light. Thanks for sharing Joe

      Good point Mark, it is not my primary light either but ironically it gets used far more then my primary. Well, on the job anyway...at home, not so much. Thanks!

    Do you ever take your dog with you on outings? Also, speaking of outings, do you have any plans to do something along the lines of a bushcraft overnight camp type thingy? And would you bring the dog with you if you were to do such an outing? I know you mainly focus on gear reviews but it would be really nice to see you go on a camp out using only the gear you've reviewed.

    • @feralwoodcraft
      @feralwoodcraft  7 років тому +1

      WIth my work schedule mixed with small kids, outings are a rare thing these days. As the kids age, you'll be seeing more and more come into the mix. We actually do do "day" outings most every weekend but I usually leave the camera at home and just concentrate on building memories with the family. As to the dog. No. No way no how. Not until he grows out of his puppy stage. He is a very sweet and usually obedient dog but is way too hyper to hit a trail or overnighter with. We took him once and we all but turned around and took him back home.
      As far as seeing the campout, you'll be seeing something similar soon. I reviewed some gear and lost half the footage (memory card died) and I am going to piece something together from those as I just don't have the time to fully repeat the over night right now. Thanks!

    lol your dog must be a camera junkie, nifty little light despite the charge hole cover issue

    • @feralwoodcraft
      @feralwoodcraft  7 років тому

      He actually isn't much. He's usually running around wild so much you can't get him in frame. If that hadn't been taken at 4am and I woke him up, who knows what he'd been doing at the time. Thanks Kaylynn!
