That landlord, good gracious. Rather than report a crime, he cleans up and tries to rent the murder scene again for $$$. He knew.
He has a nasty reputation here in Summerfield. Before this, he was already known as a piece of work. His image has NOT improved.
I'm not sure in FL but in my country, what the landlord did is an obstruction of justice. The penalty is up to 6 years imprisonment, or a fine, or both.
He shouldn't have had a choice. He tried cleaning up a crime scene and that alone should have put him in jail for tampering with evidence. Why did they allow this?
It really pissed me off. Could you imagine being so heartless that you try to clean up a death just so you could move people in? If he didn't know someone died there, I would wonder what the fuck he was on.

Summerfield local here. There's absolutely nothing here. We're a rural agricultural area. Our biggest attraction is the nearby drag racing and antique car museum owned by legendary racer "Big Daddy" Don Garlits. I personally knew this family, as did many of us in the area. To say we were absolutely devastated is a massive understatement. I'm shocked that my insignificant little town is getting any coverage, as we locals feel that this story was all but completely overlooked. Thank you for bringing light to a long-forgotten community and one of our biggest heartbreaking tragedies.
I thought this was a reupload but realized a different channel covered this case fairly recently. Matter of fact I think there are a few channels that have covered this case but only somewhat recently. I guess I just watch a lot of true crime. I can only imagine how much this shook your town. The craziest thing that ever happened in my town was a kid in my class's father, shot his wife dead and then shot himself. He flinched so the bullet went in from the bottom of his chin and out of the side of his jaw. He lived and sits in jail. Sadly, the kid in my grade, the son, just took his own life a month or so ago. Sad sad stuff people can get into.

Yeah, news of this case hit our town like a nuke. We're one of those map dot towns that you hear about in country music songs. Almost everyone here had interactions them in some manner.

I live in a similarly peaceful place where nothing big ever happens. The murder of four little children and their mother would have been devastating to the whole community. Minus this horrific tragedy, this sounds like a place I would have loved to live!
That landlord is shifty as hell. He clearly cleaned up a crime scene and was trying to get away with it.

Why the hell wouldn't the property owner allow police to do their investigation?! What does that dude have to hide?
Because it was obvious that people were killed in there and he didn't report it. He just wanted to clean the place and get a new tenant. Instead of helping the investigation, he was more concerned with protecting himself.

Landlords in a lot of areas of the US are pretty much completely above the law.
The heck was wrong with the landlord?? There was obviously a murder in the house he was renting and he kicked the cops out? Shady, callous behavior.

@@jokesonyou1373 I've rented from a few really decent people. My last landlord used to call me at least twice a month to ask if everything with the house was okay. He sent my family and I gifts on Christmas and on the kids' birthdays. When I got laid-off he waived three months rent in trade for me doing some yard work at his house. Heck, he even bought us groceries and paid the power bill for me during that time. Good landlords exist, they're just rare.
These cases where children are murdered are tragic but by their own family member is even more heartbreaking 💔

Even if the family has a habit of going silent and disappearing you should NEVER wait so long to report them. The lives that couldve been saved and the quicker they couldve caught him is so important. I have a habit of self-isolating and going silent when im overwhelmed and its because of that my mother makes sure to ALWAYS check on me when she thinks im acting odd. I cant believe the family was ok with no seeing their relatives for TWO months and not thinking to call the cops. Thats just strange
I believe it. I haven't seen or spoken to my family in months. Sure I am active on social media but they don't really know if its me. I mean it is, not trying to be dramatic but some families aren't close and going that long without contact can be normal.
The amount of time Casey and the children could be missing and no one calls police is truly disturbing. The children absolutely could've been saved if someone had called police when they hadn't heard from Casey. It's so horribly sad.

There are a lot of cases like this. The murderer keeps contacting families like he was the victim and somehow get away with it for a while until somebody suspicious enough to do something.

when you are a child and you are being abused in someway emotionally , or physically etc. you have to look back on that and realize that you have a choice not to be your parents. I did. My heart goes out to all the people affected by this horrific and unbelievable tragedy.

I do not understand how any of the family members waited so long to report any of them missing, especially the kids.
This is what gets me. That's over two months without them hearing from her. I start worrying when I don't get a response to a text after a few days.

I remember this case... It's truly one of those horrific ones you just can't forget. What he did, regardless of psychotic break, or prolonged abuse.. those kids didn't deserve it. When he dropped them off for that week or two that was his chance, that was his chance to say I'm not going to fetch them the further they are from me the safer they'll be. But he turned around got them and then did the unthinkable. Didn't know about the detail about the property owner not letting the police investigate properly. As always great coverage Adrian. Being abused as a child is not a reason to kill you whole family. I certainly hope he gets the death penalty and not stay on death row for years at tax payer’s expenses. As always Adrian it’s such a pleasure to listen to you telling the story. Your show of respect to the victims is really appreciated. It’s heartbreaking to hear that type of story but at the same time it raises awareness in all of us. I just hope that after this story people will be kinder to their friends, families and neighbors and pay more attention considering that it took 66 days before the alarm was raised of a whole family missing. I wonder why the landlord refused to give a simple answer to a simple question asked by the police.
I noticed the likeness to the Chris Watts case. The main thing that struck me was that this family, like the Watts family, were living a completely different life on social media from the one they were living in reality.

The absolute worst part of this is how long he thought about what he was going to do. He could've just skipped town, but he made a deliberate decision to hurt his children over and over again.
The best thing that can be said about this awful incident is that those sweet children can no longer be abused by this monster. The whole thing just breaks my heart.
There was no mention of Micheal being abusive to the children or Casei prior to the murders. It's understandable to assume there was physical and/or sexual abuse was occurring because of the nature of the killings and how he kept the bodies of his dead family with him. At the very least, there was probably mental/emotional abuse between the couple, as it was stated that Casei was hiding the truth about the trouble in her marriage.
I would be interested to know if there was some evidence of child abuse by Micheal? Pehaps Casei or the children told someone?

JFC, I suffered severe emotional and physical child abuse as a kid, and it made me more empathetic and opposed to the idea of harming others. I am so glad I didn't go in the opposite direction.

my parents tried to kill me on so many ways and tortured me emotionally and physically. im sad others had or/and have to suffer this way and i wish it wouldnt be this way... but what i wanna say is: even tho this happened to me i never attacked anyone but only in selfdefense and even then i made sure to not hurt them in a way that would land them in a hospital or anything but only to get em away from me or their victim and then immediately getting away from them. even tho we suffered there is no excuse to make others suffer and im glad to see many think the same way. lets break the cycle
Can you imagine what pain the father of the boys is in? I mean, anyone that knew and loved them as well as the community. The dad unknowingly returned his kids to this monster. Lest we forget his first wife who undoubtedly will be scarred for life mentally. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family!!
The mother too. Her daughter and all four of her grandchildren. That, that's just, God.
I can't imagine. That's the thing with your ex's later relationships. You don't get any say, and you just hope to hell they're decent to your kids. It's the most difficult thing about sharing custody imo.

If the dude wanted to be whack and kill the wife, etc... maybe one reason for killing the kids is that no one would take care of them so might as well just kill him. But some of those kids still had another biological parent out there...just give them back to that parent, at the very least. ugh
true, but idk...the boys were missing for 30+ days and the dad didn't even get suspicious that they weren't around to talk on the phone or to see him? that's kind of neglectful IMHO....

That had to be the lamest excuse for a family annihilation. Had he spared the kids he would had likely only received a second degree murder charge, but he just couldn't help himself ruining more lives, in two separate occasions no less over weeks. It's beyond comprehension.

• Not wanting/being able to take care of 4 kids on his own (even just 2 if the bio dad took the 2 boys)
• Not wanting to be reminded of what he did to their mom,

I dont understand why he couldn't drop the boys with their dad, take the girls to their grandmother & run away. Even then, he'd have caused a lot of pain but this is unimaginable. RIP all the victims of this monster, I pray the family can get the strength to cope with this loss.

I blame becoming a father within the last year, but this story angered me more than any other crime story that's been reviewed. That fact he can do that not only to his wife, but to his children as well just leaves me speechless. Whatever his outcome, I hope justice is truly served.
And kids that aren’t even his!!!! He could have let the dad have them!!!! Outrageous. It’s not like there weren’t other people willing to love those babies.

When you are a child, the people you trust the most without second guessing anything are your parents. And once their mother was gone, they only had him. Not only that they were probably confused why their mother suddenly disappeared and probably trusted everything he said, the last image each of them had was the person they love and trust hurting and killing them like this. I’m appalled and heartbroken.

I can't stop thinking about the fact that strangling and drowning means he had to look into their eyes, see the confusion and terror, feel the adrenaline in their bodies while they fought for their lives....and just held on. And just kept doing it. They were sweet innocent babies.
Funny story, I actually met Brandon Call at a shuffleboard tournament years back.
I was star-struck.
I got my first taste of the Hollywood limelight, and I was in a state of transcendental ecstatic bliss. My chest swayed, my eyes rolled back in my head and I gasped, "Brandon Call, right? From Step by Step."
He acknowledged me with a gleeful smirk and a proud nod.
"That's me."
Sprawled on the concrete, writhing in ecstacy, I managed to garble out a few more words, "they don't make shows like that anymore."
He agreed and proceeded down the boardwalk hand in hand with his supple wife.
It's impressively gracious that a man of such caliber would ever grace my presence, let alone stoop to the level of the common man for a humble chat.
Since then, I've reflected back on that day with great reverence pondering where would we be now if back when even before they made shows like that, we all got to experience a certain level of precision entertainment that people were never able to get when they can't even watch it before they did it now!

I don’t understand why people cry about their abuse in their childhood for their actions. They choose to do wrong, you can rise above your abuser. My dad was abused as a child, but he was the most kind, calm and understanding person up until his death.

While I'm glad to read that your father was able to overcome his trauma and be a good, loving parent, it might not be the case to everyone who has suffered SA.

When you hear the full details of how he sent the kids away while considering to kill them or not. Then killed a couple. He claims to have almost given the kids to someone instead of killing them. I just keep thinking of how they almost were saved.

Thanks for finally covering this case, I have been waiting for other crime channel to cover this. Casei and my wife were very close friends growing up and into adult hood. When this occurred - no one saw it coming, nor did anyone know the situation at their residence was that dire or that he was capable of this.
Anytime I think about it, I get so angry at the loss of such innocent lives, then to hear he just keep them around in the back of the van, fermenting for weeks, it's just down right degrading.
My wife can't even see her name without crying uncontrollably, let alone thinking of the memories they had together.
Praying for your wife, that, in time, her good memories will return and she will regain peace. 🌷❤️🌷

Everyone in this story has a lot to answer for… especially the landlord and the family members that knew those children were in an abusive household
I’ve suffered from sexual abuse and assault as a child. Never killed anyone. Never even as much as pushed anyone. If you’ve faced abuse, you wouldn’t want to subject others to it because you know exactly what it feels like.

It's weird to me how many stories there are like this, how much violence there is against women and children, specifically by the men closest to them, and yet we are always shocked and confused...when are we going to get real about how prevalent intimate partner violence is?

I'm a stepdad that wanted the best for my stepkids, therefore I reprimanded them whenever they made nonsense (my wife was too slack to perform her duties as parent and reprimand them when needed)... Unfortunately my wife (their mother) didn't support me... Whenever I reprimanded her kids, she started screaming at me in front of her kids!... That lead to screaming matches in front of the kids... Then her 2 kids started to scream at me as well... They believed it's free for all... If our mother screams at stepdad, why can't we join the screaming?... After going through this BS for more than 7 years, I booked myself into a mental clinic in order to get professional help/advice about how to deal with a situation like this... Bottom line, women can be just as abusive than men!... Violence is absolutely disgusting, whichever way!!!

The poor dead lady apparently chose the wrong man to get married with, a man with criminal records that she and her whole family just normalized somehow, as long as she looks happy and in love, doesn't matter if the guy never changes for the better. This is the price she finally paid for her love, just like you too. Hope you do find a better woman next time and never stick with just anything simply because of "love" if you're aiming for a family. Yeah fr! Usually I avoid cases with children, it's more than I want from my True Crime content but alas here we are.

I remember this case. The only thing I didn't know was that he (the killer) brought their 2 little girls to the police station (or near it) but instead of admitting what he did with his 2nd wife's two sons, he just brought his 2 little daughters with him home and killed them too. Obviously, him pretending to be his 2nd wife shows he knew what he was doing (no insanity plea, etc.). What I don't understand is why the mobile home owner was so evasive with the police? Pleading the 5th when asked if he had anyone clean up, and then asking the police to leave when asked if there were any repairs done...maybe the owner had had his own run-ins with police for his own issues and/or thought he'd be blamed for what happened in the home somehow. Thank God the cleaning guy just covered the original floor with a new one, instead of getting rid of it. Just an odd response to a policeman's questions.

That weirded me out too! If there was a possible murder, why wouldn’t u try to help?!!? Pleading the 5th in a murder investigation is almost always what guilty ppl do! 🙄 And telling them to leave, wtf?!!? If I was that cop, I would’ve pressed him with more questions and tried to gather as much evidence as possible before leaving. I also would’ve said “you don’t want us to investigate a possible murder scene? You want us to leave right now which could result in evidence being later destroyed?!?”

They were cleaning up and destroying a crime scene. The landlord wanted the place rented back out and didn’t want to admit they’d destroyed the crime scene.
I would have charged him with obstruction...simply because he was an ass.

Thank you for this video Adrian the way you narrated this tragedy made the severity and horror of the crimes more bearable to listen to and watch. It's truly horrific what happened to those four little angels. Just imagining what they were thinking during the time their father and stepfather were stealing their lives frightens me.
As I have said time and time again, I don't believe in rehabilitation and life imprisonment for this type of criminal. Rapists, pedophiles, sexual offenders, serial killers should be sentenced to death.
What an absolutely horrible human being. I'm horrified by what this man did. I have a child myself and I don't understand how someone could do something like this.
Mental illnes caused this the mentally ill handle things like stress peer pressure etc. Differently than normal people do
Yes they know right from wrong and they have feelings of remorse just like others but when they get into a manic state theyre rationale isnt normal
When manic states occur science doesnt fully understand the changes in brainwave patterns
But they understand that outside factors contribute to the manic states
For instance a warm spring cloudless day after a long winter is appreciated by pretty much everyone but with the mentally ill
It most often results in gleeful euphoria type state of manic and in some really disturbed people it can cause a homicidal rage type of manic

Hey Adrian! Heard of the Senzo Meyiwa murder?? He was a South African soccer player/captain for the Orlando Pirates. He was murdered 9 years ago at his mistress's mother's home. There is alot of cover up going on in that case and 5 men stand accused for a murder they probably did not commit as it is quiet evident that the shooter was already in the house when the young, promising star was fatally shot. In the house were his mistress, her mother and sister,the sister's bf and the deceased's so called best friend. I think it might interest you to cover the case.

Such a horrible story, he is simply evil. No matter what happened to him as child is an excuse to take these precious lives. Mom and babies are in heaven together forever, but that evil beast will spend eternity in hell with never ending torture, good for him, he earned it. Prayers for the families and they will see their loved ones again.
Hey Adrian! Thanks for the new upload…as always you keep us on the edge of our seats. I have a case suggestion I think currently it may still be in the sentencing period or it will be to follow in next few months, but it’s a case out of my native country South Africa about a young man who was married, murdered & dismembered his wife who also happens to be his cousin and stored her in the freezer. The fascinating thing is not only we’re they both young but he was an actuarial science student maybe it’s something you would be interested to investigate once his sentenced?. Take care 😉
When I hear kids getting killed in the past, it would bother me but I just forget about it soon. As a new father, when I hear about kids getting hurt, it hits very different. The angst I feel towards the assailant burns real deep.

I may be wrong, but she wasn't 5 years older than him. I believe that he was born on 05/01/1981 and she was born 12/23/1986. Making him like 5 years her senior. I dunno I'm probably wrong.🤔 But either way my family and I love love your channel. Thanks for all of this awesome content. You really never know anyone. You never know. But sometimes you meet people and they give you the chills and you wonder how they got a family who adores them.
I'm a Summerfield local. I personally knew both of them. My oldest daughter was in the same class as one of their girls. Folks in the area knew they had issues, but not to this extent. We honestly didn't think their troubles were anything but the normal family problems. Absolutely nobody here saw this coming.
I bawled through the entire last half of this episode. Those poor babies man 😔

That poor dad. I can't imagine how he feels having dropped his kids back to their moms house to be killed by a monster. So sad. I will never understand how anyone can kill a child.

I don't understand why the landlord was so hesitant to answer the officer's questions. Pleading the fifth and then asking the officer's to leave the property just seems so bizarre to me. What did he have to hide??🤔

As a mother myself & having an ex with a violent past, this one really got to me. I wept a bit as you talked of the children. I believe this man should not get the death penalty, but rot away with his conscience. Knowing how some inmates are about the killing of children, I'm sure this man will be marked.
He probably doesn't have a functioning conscience.
Have you been to prison? People adapt...they get tablets to watch movies and music....they talk to other inmates....give this guy the death penalty for sure....

I'm not usually someone who is in support of the death penalty,...however, in this case, I feel it's the right thing to do.
How could he ever be trusted not to do something like this again? He simply couldn't be.
I hope his wife and the four innocent children he callously killed are resting in peace or are enjoying a much brighter new life somewhere.

I just want to say thank you so much for always taking the time to really highlight the victim/victims in your videos. Not enough true crime content creators really explain in great detail who these people were and how special they were to their loved ones, and I just feel that is extremely important when telling their stories.

Hope the children rest in peace. They are the true victims in this case because they didn't do anything to anyone or provoke/react to anything. They were just being children and innocently living each day, looking up to their parents for love and protection. Absolutely kills me to hear this tale because I have beautiful nephews and nieces who are of similar ages and I don't know what I'd do without them. ❤️
These types of crime stories stay with me for a very long time. I feel sick and want to cry. How do you deal with the information and the horrible facts? Does it stay with you? Any time children are involved, I just can't shake this awful feeling.

I still don't understand exactly what happened. It all seems so... without actual motive. Usually in these cases it would be clear cut, this guy doesn't want a family anymore and murdered them. This guy, I don't understand his motive.
@@younce-davis952 I don't think there was a motive to begin with; at least not in Casei's case. Given that all living parties confirmed the relationship was highly volatile at best, and actually abusive at worst, I believe that Michael was telling the truth (or at least, partially) when he described the sequence of events leading to Casei's death as "an argument that got out of hand"; as it's often the case in turbulent relationships before someone gets hurt.
They argued, things turned ugly, and Casei said/did something to anger Michael so much, he grabbed the bat and then proceeded to beat her to death. Now he's a killer, even though it wasn't his intention to take her life, nor he has a rational reason for it; he "just" snapped, letting all of his anger, frustration and instable mind to take control and this was the result. A very tragic event, but again, not an uncommon ending for an abusive relationship.
And then things began to spiral; because it wasn't a planned crime, Michael had to scramble to think of how to cover this unfortunate event to the best of his ability, without anyone noticing. That's why I think he didn't surrender the children to their respective relatives - he just didn't want anyone to get suspicious about Casei's sudden disappearence. Days went by, and he still hadn't had no solution how to deal with the whole situation without getting caught.
Being older and not his children, the boys might have started to ask for their mom and stopped buying his explanations anymore, and that's likely why they were the next to die; at this point, I believe Michael was in a survival mode and simple stopped caring about anyone but himself, which would culminate in the arguably worst offense for many - the death of his own children, because he had rather taken his little girls' lives (rationalised in his sick mind as it's better for them to die, than to live without their mom) than to turn himself in, facing the justice for what he had done.
Now, I'm not saying this is exactly what had happened; just that it all makes sense given the evidence and testimonies of all parties involved.
Either way, it's so sad that Michael couldn't have accepted the responsibility for Casei's death, sparing the children's lives and ironically even his own, as he would've been charged with "only" a second degree murder, evading the death penalty.

This is one of those cases that made me go hug my kids. What a monster.
This level of raw, monstrous, subhuman violence from a person who is supposed to love his wife and children always leaves me acquiescent to the evil that is possible in human beings. It irritates me to no end when mentally ill people don't seek out help, or when they do, so many with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or anything with psychotic symptoms end up non-compliant with their medications.
